WEEK 3: SHOULD WEEK 5: TEACHES GO! LESSON: HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! God cannot lie, and He cannot make a mistake. He is perfect. So we know that His Word, the Bible, was written down exactly the way He wanted it true and without error. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. Does God ever lie? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time when someone thought you were lying but you really were telling the truth. How did you convince them that what you said was the truth? 3. Can you trust the Bible? Why? How will this affect the way you think about God s Word as you study it and tell others about it? PSALM 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.
WEEK 3: SHOULD WEEK 5: TEACHES GO! LESSON: HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! If we want to know God, we need to know what He tells us about Himself. His words in the Bible tell us who He is and what He has done. The Bible also tells us how to have a relationship with Him through believing in Jesus Christ. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. How do we get to know God? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you learned more about someone or something and that changed the way you viewed that person or thing. How did your opinion change because you spent time learning more about that person or thing? 3. Because we know how important it is to read the Bible and get to know God, how will this affect the way we live our lives? Helps Us Know God section in the T&T kid s handbook, your T&T kids were asked to imagine they had just learned about a cousin, named Myles, living in another country. They were then asked to write a letter to this cousin sharing three things about themselves. JOHN 20:31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
WEEK 3: SHOULD WEEK 3: SHOULD HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! We should work hard to study and teach God s Word carefully, so we will be useful workers for God and so God will be pleased with our work. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. What does it mean to study the Bible carefully? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time you had to study something carefully because you cared deeply about the content you were studying. Why did you pay such close attention to what you were doing? 3. Why is it important to study the Bible carefully? What should you do when you hear someone else teaching about God or anything else that is from the Bible? WEEK 5: TEACHES GO! LESSON: Should Be Studied Carefully section in the T&T kid s handbook, your T&T kids were asked to pretend they had been asked to teach something to someone. They were then asked to write about or draw what they would do to prepare to teach him or her. 2 TIMOTHY 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
WEEK 3 : SHOULD WEEK 5: TEACHES GO! LESSON: HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! God tells us about many real-life people in the Bible. They are examples for us not because they are perfect, but because they had faith in God. The faith of the Bible characters can teach us, encourage us in our own faith, and give us hope. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. How are the people from the Bible like us? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time in your life when you had a mentor, someone you looked up to. What made that person so meaningful in your life? Do your kids have a mentor? Someone they look up to and who has made an impact on them? Why are these people so important? 3. As your faith in God grows, how will this help you when you are going through a hard time? Teaches Us About People From the Past section of the T&T kid s handbook, your T&T kids were asked to draw or write about someone they admire. ROMANS 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
WEEK 3: SHOULD WEEK 5: TEACHES WEEK 5: TEACHES HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! When we make choices on our own, we often sin and cause problems that could hurt ourselves or others. We need to listen to God s instructions in His Word, since God knows what s best for everyone. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. Why is it important to know God s instructions for us? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you listened to bad instructions. What happened? Tell about another time when you listened to instructions that were helpful. Why is it important to follow good instructions? 3. What are some things you can do right away to start learning God s instructions for your life? Teaches Us How to Live section in the T&T kid s handbook, your T&T kids were asked to write or draw instructions to teach someone how to make something he or she knows how to make. GO! LESSON: PSALM 119:9-11 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
WEEK 3: SHOULD WEEK 5: TEACHES HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! The Bible was written by God, and He knows exactly what s happening in your life right now. His words in the Bible are alive and active to help you with your problems and show you what He sees in your heart. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. Who knows everything about us? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you had a problem. Where did you go for wisdom in finding a solution to this problem? Why should we look to God s word for help with the problems we face in this life? 3. What does it mean that the Bible is living and powerful? Is Powerful and Active section of the T&T kid s handbook, your T&T kids were asked to draw or write about a problem they had in the past few weeks. GO! LESSON: HEBREWS 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It encourages us and helps us grow stronger in our faith and handle any situation in our lives. It teaches us how to make good choices that obey God. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child. 1. What is the Bible? 2. Tell a story: Describe a time in your life when you went to the Bible for help, encouragement, wisdom, or guidance. What difference did seeking God s wisdom make over seeking man s wisdom? 3. Why should we read our Bibles as much as possible? How can we read the Bible as a family?
