Time to dust off your uniforms and oil your leathers and air out your tents. A lot of action coming up starting with Hurricane Shoals September 17-18 in Maysville, Ga. Those that attended the inaugural event last year can sure tell you it was a great event and one we are certainly looking forward too next week. It is held in conjunction with the Arts in The Park, which is held on the other side of the park and will have many food vendors. As a bonus, if the weather permits, a dip in the shoals is very refreshing also. I will post directions later in this publication. There is also a National event in October and info is on the Battalion webpage. 3 Notes from the Editor 4 Schedule 4 Newsletter 1

C H A P L A I N S M O M E N T Chaplains Corner In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus was giving his now famous Sermon on the Mount. It covered 3 chapters in Matthew as he preached to multitudes from Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, and beyond Jordan. On a much smaller scale, this sermon could be compared to the Great Revival that swept through the Southern armies during the War of Northern Aggression. In both instances, the people heard the Word being preached and went back home to tell family and friends what they had heard. Pastor Joey Young said in one of his sermons that the Great Revival was more responsible for the religious zeal that swept through the South after the war than anything else. To this day, you see churches everywhere in the South. So you see, telling the good news of Jesus has a far greater outreach than we expect it to. Read Matthew chapters 5 through 7 sometime, I think you will be glad you did. There is so much there to help us conduct ourselves better as Christians or as ordinary citizens. One other thing I wanted to mention before closing: when we have women and children in camp, let's try to watch our language. Some of them don't want to hear a lot of swear words, so let's be considerate of them. I pray you all have a blessed month, and look forward to seeing some of you at Clinton in May. Deo Vindice. You must give the quartermaster enough time to schedule the pick up or pack extra equipment to bring to an event. Always return the equipment back to him as soon as the event is over without delay. Remember to take care of the company equipment and help to keep it clean and useable Thanks. We have uniforms, accoutrements, rifles and tents to loan to new recruits. If you know someone who may enjoy the adventures and brotherhood that we share, then invite them to an event. If you wait until the last minute, it might not be available. This is why the company owns this equipment; let s put it to good use. RECRUIT! J U S T T A L K I N G N O W Directions to Hurricane Shoals From Albany just travel as you would go to Old Clinton. 75 N to 16 E, get off at first exit and go North on US 129.
