1 Corinthians 2:1-10 (NLT) Paul s Message of Wisdom 2 When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God s secret plan. 2 For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness timid and trembling. 4 And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. 5 I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:1-10 (NLT) Paul s Message of Wisdom 6 Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten. 7 No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. 8 But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
1 Corinthians 2:1-10 (NLT) Paul s Message of Wisdom 9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. 10 But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God s deep secrets.

Praying on the Armour of God
Praying on the Armour of God Dear Lord, as we get out of bed each day, we know we re stepping onto a battlefield. But we also know you ve given us everything we need to stand firm. So in the power of your Holy Spirit, we put on the Armour of God:
First, we place the helmet of salvation on our head. Protect our mind and imagination. Guard our eyes, allowing no sin to creep in. Focus our thoughts on the things of God.
Let the breastplate of righteousness keep our hearts and emotions safe. We pray that we won t be governed just by our feelings, but by truth.
Wrap your Word around us like a belt. And safeguard us from errors.
We put on the sandal of peace to guide our steps. Plant our feet in your truth. Empower us to stand firm against attacks.
Next, we take up the shield of faith. Protect us from satan s fiery arrows. Place us shoulder to shoulder with your army to oppose the devil s schemes.
Finally, we take up the sword of the Spirit, your Word. Help us to really immerse ourselves in the Bible so we will always be ready to deflect attacks and touch hearts with your truth.
We know we will face assaults, Lord, but you have empowered us to stand firm. Give us strength for the battle. In Jesus name, Amen.
