Ahava B Shem Yeshua Love In The Name of Jesus Monthly Newsletter Volume 3, Issue 11 September 2017 From Our Messianic Leader.. IN YESHUA S NAME What does it mean to ask our heavenly Father in Yeshua s Name? The saying or expression in the name of in the Hebrew (bashem) means a representative of or on the authority of. If we ask Adonai for something in Yeshua s name, we are asking Him to respond to us because of our association with Yeshua. In a way we are merely a messenger; the request truly belongs to Him. When we ask in Yeshua s name, it is not as though Yeshua is pleading on our behalf; rather we are asking on His behalf. John 16:26-27 CJB says: 26 When that day comes, you will ask in my name. I am not telling you that I will pray to the Father on your behalf, 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. This scripture suggest two things. One, that the petition on our lips are accepted by Adonai due to the value and high merit of Yeshua --- not our own. Two, asking in Yeshua s name is not a license to name it and claim it on whatever we like. There are many T.V. evangelists that use this approach in their messages. Instead, we only have a license to ask for things that relate to our ability as followers of Yeshua. Whatever we do receive in His name in the end and ultimately belongs to Him and not us. This is what it means to pray in Yeshua s name. It does not require saying the words in Yeshua s name as a magic formula or that every prayer must end with in Yeshua s name, Amen. On the other hand it is quite common in Judaism to include legal formalities when praying and so it is perfectly fitting to mention Yeshua and to request that our prayers be answered on His behalf. Volume 3, Issue 11 Page 5 LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS DAVIDIC DANCE We have made some changes to the dance ministry: Is. 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger of good tidings, that announces peace and announces salvation, that says unto Zion: "Your Elohim reigns!" Davidic Dance at Ahava is worshiping Adonai with sacred reverence to Him. Therefore, there must be order and understanding when we worship through dance. Seasoned worship dancers may join the Davidic Dance circle after speaking to the dance leaders and demonstrating basic core steps. Appropriate dance attire is skirts and dresses below the knee and tops should be covered shoulders... nothing see through. Pants, tank tops and boots will not be permitted. Our focus is to please Elohim and not man. The Hora Dance is for everyone and we encourage all to participate and celebrate in this dance. The dance for He Shall Reign is for everyone as well! Beginning dance steps are offered after Oneg on the first and second Sabbaths of the month at 1:15 for 30 minutes. The Shabbat Medley dance will be taught during this time. All who learn it can then participate in the Shabbat Medley dance to bring in the Sabbath Service. Thank you for your understanding and we ask that you pray that Elohim be exalted through the dance ministry as it is a powerful weapon against the enemy. Contact the Office at Ahava B Shem Yeshua at 928.443.5988 Let them praise His Name with dancing. Let them sing praises to Him with tambourine and harp. Psalms 149:3 TLV

Volume 3, Issue 11 Page 7 MESSIANIC 101 Terms & Definitions Fall Holy Days 2017 As we prepare ourselves for Teshuvah (40 days of repentance) during this month of Elul, our hearts and minds become excited for the approaching Fall High Holidays!! The Fall High Holy Days are an exciting time to deepen our walk with Adonai. Let us prepare our hearts for worship! Remember all Holy Days start at sundown the previous day. Lev 23:1-2 Then Adonai spoke to Moses saying: Speak to Bnei Yisrael, and tell them: These are the appointed moadim of Adonai, which you are to proclaim to be holy convocations My moadim. (TLV Version). ROSH HASHANA (Head of the Year) FEAST OF TRUMPETS Rosh Hashanah falls this year on September 21st, 2017, Thursday. Our Shul will be celebrating this High Holy Day during our Shabbat Service on September 23, 2017. During the service we will have not only our shofar blasts and a special message about this High Holy Day, but we will also be having a shofar blowing contest. It will be split into two groups: 13 years old and up, and the 12 and under group. We will also have a very special Oneg, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the sanctuary! Lev 23:23-25 Adonai spoke to Moses saying: Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, saying:: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a Shabbat rest, a memorial of blowing (shofarot), a holy convocation. You are to do no regular work, and you are to present an offering made by fire to Adonai. (TLV Version). A popular observance during this holiday is eating apples dipped in honey, a symbol of our wish for a sweet new year. The common greeting at this time is L'shanah tovah ("for a good year"). YOM KIPPUR DAY OF ATONEMENT Yom Kippur is on September 30th, 2017, Shabbat. The first service will be on Friday the 29th at 6:00 pm and the second service will be on Shabbat the 30th at 6:00 pm, at this time we will break our fast together. Both services will be held at Alliance Bible Church. We will NOT have our regularly scheduled Shabbat Service on this day. We will begin our fasts together on Friday, September 29th at 6pm and break our fast together on Shabbat, September 30th, after our service at 6pm. Please sign up on the sheet in the back of the sanctuary! Lev 23:26-28 Adonai spoke to Moses, saying: However, the tenth day of the seventh month is Yom Kippur, a holy convocation to you, so you are to afflict yourselves. You are to bring an offering made by fire to Adonai. You are not to do any kind of work on that set day, for it is Yom Kippur, to make atonement for you before Adonai your God. (TLV Version). It is customary to wear white on the holiday, which symbolizes purity and calls to mind the promise that our sins shall be made as white as snow (Is. 1:18). SUCCOT FEAST OF TABERNACLES Succot begins on October 5th, 2017, Thursday and ends on October 11th, 2017, Wednesday. Our Shul will celebrate this High Holy Day on Shabbat, October 7th, 2017. We will be blessed with worship music from Vince and Debbie Iantorno. We will then have a special Oneg, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the sanctuary! Lev 23:33-36 Adonai spoke to Moses saying: Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, and say, On the fifteenth day of the seventh month is the Feast of Sukkot, for seven days to Adonai. On the first day there is to be a holy convocation-you are to do no laborious work. For seven days you are to bring an offering by fire to Adonai. (TLV Version). In honor of the holiday's historical significance, we are commanded to dwell in temporary shelters, as our ancestors did in the wilderness. The temporary shelter is referred to as a sukkah (which is the singular form of the plural word "sukkot"). SHIMINI ATZERET THE EIGHTH DAY Shimini Atzeret is on October 12th, 2017, Thursday. Lev 23:36 The eighth day will be a holy convocation to you, and you are to bring an offering by fire to Adonai. It is a solemn assembly-you should do no laborious work. (TLV Version). Come prepare to worship the Lord G-d Most High, Adonai Elyon, during the Fall High Holy Days! Chag Sameach!
