HE IS RISEN, HE IS TRULY RISEN ALLELUIA! Today we celebrate the central mystery of Christian life. Jesus appeared to many in the fifty days after his resurrection. Of course, St. Thomas is the most famous and recounted post resurrection appearance of all. So how do we celebrate Easter? It is not enough simply to be thankful for all Jesus did for us, but instead is incumbent upon us to announce the resurrection! We need to do this not only in how we live, but also not to shy away from proclaiming Him alive! Jesus is alive in his Real Presence at the Mass. He is alive in the Church, the mystical body of Christ and in a special way in the sacraments. As Catholics we know that we continue to encourage the risen Jesus! Let us keep our eyes fixed on him, not on any government, politicians, entertainers, material things or even ourselves! This is the joy of Easter that the Lord wants to share with us and we with others. This can and will change the world and those around us! Here at St. Thomas More Parish, we are blessed that we now are experiencing a resurrection in technology and social media. This can now equip us to study, deepen and share Jesus Christ. Mom, why am I stuck inside my head and my body like a shell? There s so much going on inside, so much I want to tell. Mom, my body aches so much, as much as in your heart. Some nights I would give most anything, just to sit and talk. Mom, I wish I didn t need someone to do everything for me. It s hard to show but I understand. It s not how it should be. Mom, I wish I could run around with all the other boys or just sit down and draw for you or play with all the toys. Mom, I love your cuddles, I wish I could hug in return. I hope my brightest smiles shows the love that inside burns. Mom, please be patient with me. I don t like to see you cry. One day we ll find our language and that s when I will fly.
