As most of you know, my grand-daughter Lauryn and I will be traveling to Mozambique in May. Today, 24 April 2017, begins our 30-day countdown until we leave! We are in the final stages of preparation for the trip!! And the excitement is building. We have our flights purchased. We have received our Passports and Visas from the Embassy of Mozambique. We still need to get our International Drivers License and to purchase Emergency Medical Insurance and we have all that scheduled on our calendar. Help We do need your help with a few things. Some of the laptop computers used in for Mama Twyla's Computer Class were stolen and the charging cables for some of the others were also taken. We need three chargers for the following three computers : 1. ACER Aspire 5600series. Model no. ZB2. 2. COMPAQ Presario CQ61. 3. TOSHIBA Tecra T9100 Model no. PT910 E-5V9Q4-EN.
If anyone has chargers that would work we could use them. Or point me in the direction where I can get something that will work. Thank you! A very beautiful friend has purchased 15 rebuilt laptops for the Computer Class and 8 of these have already been delivered. The rest are in the process of getting there. The computers are being kept in a secure area while we are working on building a secure storage area for all the computers in the Classroom. Prayers We need your prayers that we will be able to finish up the detail work on the building. The construction is finished but we need tables, chairs.. things for the classroom. We are asking Papa God for the funds to finish. As you pray with us I believe it will happen! In addition I am asking that the Lord will speak to people who will make a commitment of support for the Computer Class of whatever amount they feel. Please pray with me about this. The funds would go directly to the Computer Class through Iris, not to me. There will be a Missionary in Pemba who will be overseeing the Computer Class and be responsible for the funds. I appreciate you taking the time to pray for these needs. One of my favorite Scriptures from The Mirror Bible reflects my feelings: We value your prayers! The more people partner with us in prayer the greater the gratitude shared in our testimony! (II Cor. 1:11 The Mirror Bible) And I appreciate your prayers for Lauryn and I as we travel. We are asking for the Lord to help us in every phase of the trip. Thank you!! One Year This next month May will mark one year since Twyla's passing. It seems like a dream sometimes unreal. I really appreciate all you who have been praying for me because IT IS HELPING! And time makes a difference. I am getting used to her not being here. I don't like it but there is nothing I can do about that. Your prayers are amazing. Thank you so much. This past year since her death I have been led to see how gracious the Lord is
with me. And I am so thankful for the people He brought into my life. There are so many of you that I have not met in person, yet you have added so much to what Twyla and I were doing in Mozambique AND you have helped me so much since my return to the U.S. And I am so grateful for Iris Ministries and the Love and Support that they have given! Rolland and Heidi Baker touched Twyla's and my life in ways that only eternity will show. Don and Elizabeth Kantel helped us and introduced us to Mieze where our hearts were captured.. forever. Tony and Pamela Maxwell first met us, prayed with us, soaked with us and took a chance with us. And forever changed our lives. Thank you all! There are many others of the Iris family who have impacted us.. the Staff in Redding.. our family in Pemba.. the friends we made there who are now around the world. Bless you.. everyone. Factoids of our Journey Our flight begins in Austin, Texas and goes to London, England. The distance is 4,912 miles. The next part of the trip will be from London to Johannesburg, South Africa. The distance is 5638 miles. We will be traveling from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere and will cross the Equator during the flight.
From Johannesburg our next flight will be to Maputo, Mozambique for a short stop to clear Customs and Passport Control before flying on to Pemba. The flight to Maputo is a short flight of about 280 miles. From Maputo the final flight is into Pemba. It is about 1100 miles, Maputo being in the extreme southern part of the nation and Pemba being in the far north. THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR US!!
