Seasoned overcomers are repositioned to take over the world back to the Kingdom of Lord God our Saviour Jesus Christ (Rev 11:15) HALLELUYAH, HALLELUYAH, HALLELUYAH WARFARE A MUST FOR DISCIPLES The Biblical Perspective of Warfare (Eph. 6:12) for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. THE DEVIL MADE ME TO DO IT. One hears that statement often these days. Most people laugh and smile at this attempt of man to excuse himself of any guilt in his sin. How man would like to laugh away the problem of sin and the misery and torment it often brings! While believers do need to exercise care in not assigning all of their wrongdoings as Satan s responsibility, and to give credit to his account we must with biblical insight appreciate the authority and Power given to the Body of Christ People of the Kingdom of God. God said sit at my right hand until I make all your enemies into your foot stool (Ps 110:1). This is said 7 times in the Bible and good for all 7 days. Ex 14:14 says Battle belongs to the Lord. Careful study of the epistle of Paul soon reveals the depth of understanding the Holy Spirit brought to the apostle concerning the need for wisely approaching spiritual warfare. The book of Ephesians is the New Testament handbook on spiritual warfare. Paul closes this epistle with a focus that seems to make successful spiritual warfare against Satan an important key to the message of the whole epistle. his effective warfare against Satan and his kingdom. For the war to be ended engage in fair means celebrating Risen Lord s glory and Power. CELEBRATE CELEBRATE CELEBRATE CHORUS. The believer s emphasis in spiritual warfare must be upon a biblical, approach to the subject. Subjective feeling, emotional desires, and fervent sincerity are not sufficient weaponry against Satan. He yields no ground to emotion or sincerity. He retreats only from before the authority the believer has through his union with the Lord Jesus Christ and the absolute truth of the Word of God. The defeat of our enemy depends on our reliance and radiant application upon the Word of God and the Person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Mt 4:1 11) got accomplished, demonstrated and perfected at the Calvary. The enemy is made naked and stripped and evicted. The Word of God recognizes that we face three unique enemies which seek to defeat the spiritual life of believers I and my house hold is my own enemies (Micah 7:6). First evict that person from inside out to begin victory. Commonly we speak of these three as the world, the flesh, and the devil. Each of these enemies has a unique and particular role to play in the warfare against believers. It is vital to our victory in the Lord Jesus Christ that we know how each of these enemies seeks to turn us aside from our purchased possession and position of victory. It is important for us to be able to discern what kind of temptation or testing we are facing in a given situation. Call for wisdom revelation. When a person becomes a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, his relationship to everything in the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional world undergoes a radical change. He is a new creation, everything is becoming new. The believer is a citizen of heaven (Phil 3:20) he is God s child (John 1:12) and an heir of God. Believers are appointed to suffer with Christ in his grace and to be glorified together with Him [Rom. 8:16-18]. Because of this new relationship to God, all believers are marked targets for attack from the same enemies that oppose and attack the Person, plans and purposes of God. With such relentless plan of attack against us, believers must know all they can about their available defense system and their weapons of warfare. Some of the weapons of Warfare are:- The blood of Jesus, The name of Jesus, Authority and Power in Jesus, Praise and fellowship in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit, Repentance, Presence, A clean heart, Forgiveness, Humility, A totally surrendered life, Righteousness, Armor of light, The word of God, The voice of the Lord, Dreams, Wisdom Revelations, Angels, Prophetic counsels, Fasting, The Power of agreement, Binding and loosing, Prayer, Persistence, Faith, Consistency, The word of our testimony, Love, Loving God and acknowledging His name, Obedience, Patience and endurance, Joy of the Lord, Trumpet shout, ministry to the poor and needy, Helping widows, orphans, aliens and broken hearted, Singing, waiting, Fear of the Lord, Discerning of the Spirits, Godly counsel, Signs and wonders, Warfare dance, Intercession, Silence etc. The Lord goes out before you to strike the enemy and win the victory. Fight his battle in prayer (Josh 1:9; 2 nd Sam: 5:20-24) Enjoy favor and spoil of the enemy (Ex. 3:22) continue celebrating Jesus. It is vital that I have biblical answers to basic questions as: How do I overcome the world? How do I recognize the worlds attempt to press me into its mold, and how do I overcome the world? How do I defeat the works of my fleshly nature? How do I recognize temptation from Satan and his demons, and what defeats these focused efforts. Biblical answers to these questions will equip members of our Lords body to walk in the spiritual health which has been supplied by their Head. God said in this world you have tribulations but be of good cheer I have overcome this world (Jn 16:33) In Him we are created overcomers (Rev: 21:7). Hear God (Is 30:21) and obey to enhance your horizon to work or act for God. Warfare with the world: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [1 John 2:15 Js 4:4] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. [John 15:19]. Reject the world and its vanities get attached to Jesus and be baptized in the Powers of the Holy Spirit. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. [Rom. 12:2]. Adore the mind of Christ. Why not? In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them [2 Cor: 4:4] But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. [Gal. 6:14] Warfare with the flesh For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [Rom. 8:6] Facing Satan s kingdom Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [Eph 6:11] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [Jam. 4:7] seven ways. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [2 Tim: 2:5] the sword of the spirit is The Word of God For God hath not given unto us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and a sound mind [1 Tim 1:7] Understand and don t be afraid. Lying is peculiarly a satanic temptation to sin against God and man. (Eph 4:25; John 8:44; Act 5;3) Satan is the father of lies. Wars are predicted to continue until Christ comes to earth (Mt 24:4-21; Rev 6:1-8; 13:4-8; 19:11-20). 5 promises in war 1) Jehovah Elohim is with you (Dt 20:1) 2) The God that brought you out of Egypt by mighty miracles is with you. 3) He will go with you (Dt 20:4) 4) He will fight for you (Ex 14:14) 5) He will save you from defeat Commander in chief of war And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword. (Dt 20:13). (Command of God) The Lord was always to be considered the commander in chief of the armies of Israel. He was their King Captain and guide in times of war and peace. In his hand were the blessings and curses: the prosperity and poverty the health and the sickness the victories and defeat and the life and death of all Israel. They were to look to him and depend upon Him for the blessings of life which they always received when they obeyed (Ex 15:26; 26:20-33; Lev: 26; Dt 28) War on the saints The greatest and most important work of Satan among men now is to counterfeit the doctrine and experiences of God as revealed in scripture in order to deceive saints (2Cor 11:14-15; Eph 6:10-18; 1 Tim 4:1-7; Rev 12:9-12). Men are commanded to prove and test all doctrines experiences in the super natural realm to see if they are of God or of Satan 1Cor 2:12-16 Phl 1:9-10; 1 TH:5: 21-22; 1 Jn 4:1-6) It is certain that every religion is founded on different doctrines and doctrine without sprit freedom will make its death bed here Christianity is not a religion but a relation with the Person of Jesus Christ and is received free and enjoys full freedom in truth and spirit. Religion can never be spirit but flesh but spirit is spirit either Holy Spirit or Evil spirit. Holy Spirit produces good fruits and evil spirit bad and any one can distinguish between the two. It is men who make the choice to go to heaven or hell as freewill is uniquely given to all who is created in God s own image. The knowledge of the truth is first essential weapon in warfare against demons and error. Great is the danger when we believers accept anything and everything in the realm of the super natural as being from the Lord. The fact that believer is a child of God does not stop the devil from trying in every conceivable way to imitate God to him. There are definite ways out lined in scripture whereby one can detect what kind of spirit is seeking to control him. But if one neglects to study the word he may fall prey to one of Satan s demons through ignorance. It must be realized that ignorance is no guarantee against working of evil spirits. In fact this is one of the chief means by which Satan and his force try to control men through ignorance. It accounts for their wide spread success in getting men to accept their suggestions doctrines ideas leadings and guidings. Among the guiding principles useful in detecting good and evil spirits their operations and doctrines the outstanding one are these. 1) Any doctrine that denies or causes doubt and unbelief concerning anything taught in Scripture is from Satan and his demons (1Tim 4:1-8). Any religion denying the inspirations of the Bible the reality of God as a person the virgin birth and living of Christ, His miraculous power and supernatural ministry the death, burial bodily ascension and bodily manifestation Rebuilding India 2015 13
of Christ after His resurrection; the bodily ascension to heaven and coming again of Jesus Christ to set up His Kingdom in the world forever the necessity of the new birth cleansing from sin and living free from sin and the numerous other experiences of the Bible any religion denying these fundamental truth is yielding to the spirit of error and not the spirit of truth (1Jn 4:1-6). 2) Any power influence of doctrine that causes one to become passive inactive submissive and unresisting to the workings of the supernatural spirits seeking to control his life contrary to the teaching of scripture is not of God. The Bible says resist the devil (Js 4:7; 1 Pet: 5:8-9). An inclination to approve sin ignore the necessity of repentance and holy living and a tendency to remove the penalty for sin or doubt that hell is literal and eternal are promoted by Satan not God. Just as God requires truth in the mind for the true working of the Holy spirit is a life so the devil requires the behaving of lies in the minds of men to hold them in bondage see 1Cor 6:9-11; 10:12-13; 2 nd Cor 11:3-15; Gal 5:19-21; 6:7-8; Eph 6:10-18; 1Tim 4:19; Js 1:22; 2:10. 3) The holy spirit can be recognized by the fruit of the spirit mentioned in Gal 5:22-23; Love, Joy, Peace long suffering, gentleness, goodness faith, meekness temperance. Spiritual War (1Pet 2:11): Dearly beloved I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul. Gr. strateno: to serve as a soldier to be drawn up in battle array either to kill or take captive Fleshly lusts will do both if they are not conquered (Gal 5:19-21; Rom 1:29-32; 1Cor 6:9) Trans War 1Pet 2:11-2 nd Cor 10:3; 1Tim 1:18; 2 nd Tim 2:4; Js 4:1; soldier LK 3:14 and Warfare 1Cor 9:7. Rev 12:7-: And there was War in heaven Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the dragon fought and his angels. This War in heaven will be the last actual struggle between Satan and God over the possession of the havenless where Satan, claims his reigns (Eph: 2:2; 6:12) Satan still has access to God s heaven to accuse the brethren. Who is able to make War with- Rev 13:4. : And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast and they worshipped the beast saying who is like unto the beast? Who is able to War with him? War with the Lamb - Rev 17:14: These shall make war with the Lamb and the Lamb shall overcome them; for he is Lord of Lord s and king of kings and they that are with him are called and chosen and faithful. He doth judge and War Rev 19:11: And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse and he that sat upon Him was called Faithful and true and in righteousness he doth judge and make War. Make war against him that sat: - Rev: 19:19.: And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. Warfare 1 Sam 28:1: And it came to pass in those days that the philistines gathered their armies together for warfare to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men. Is 40:2- speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem and cry unto her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned for she had received of the Lord s hand double for all her sins. 1 Cor 9:7- who goeth as warfare anytime at his own charges? Who planteth a vineyard and eateth not of the fruit thereof? Or who feedeth a flock and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Spirit World defined. The words spirit and spirits are found 540 times in scripture. From these references the 294 scriptures where angel and angels are found and from over 20,000 others about God who is a spirit being we learn all there is to know about the spirit world. By the spirit world we mean all the various kinds of spirit beings that inhabit the unseen material worlds in space and under the earth (Phil 2:10; Rev 5:3, 13). This invisible force is a living reality to challenge. There are 10 kinds of spirit beings besides God. 1. Seraphim (Is 6:1 7) 2. Cherubim (Ezk 1:5 28; 8:1 4; 10:1 22). 3. Zoe or living creatures (Rev 4:5 6; 14; 6:1 8; 7:11; 14:3:9, 11; 15:7; 19:4) 4. Spirit animals shaped like the fleshly ones we have on earth (Rev 1:20; 2 Cor 12:1 4; 2 nd King 2:11 12; 6:13 17; Zech 1: 8 11; 6:1 8; Rev 19: 11 21) 5. Definition and usage of angel This literally means messenger and is used of Christ, angels and men. 1.
