Understanding Spiritual Laws Subtitle: The Laws of The Economy of God In 1996, I listened to an audio cassette entitled the "Law of Reciprocals." A reciprocal is something that corresponds with something else, yet, it's inverted or reversed, and works the same way as it's counterpart based on a law or principle. I enjoyed this teaching on the law of reciprocals and listened to it approximately 50 plus times. Then once the audio tape ruptured. I sent for another one and listened to it another 25 times. The teaching was part of a 4 tape series entitled "freedom from fear". I still have it today! It's absolutely awesome how a series of teachings can bring revelation concerning so many different things. At that time, "reciprocal" was a word that was really big to me. The revelation that was being released on this particular tape, was that...fear is the reciprocal of FAITH. Faith and fear works the same way but are inverted or reversed. Faith is based on what you believe and is released by words and corresponding actions. Fear is also based on what you believe and is released by words and corresponding actions.
Faith is going in one direction, while Fear is going in the reverse. Faith and Fear are based on belief! You are either believing God's Word or believing the lies of the devil. Your beliefs will influence the decisions and actions of your household. This particular tape placed an emphasis on two laws outlined in Romans 8:2. For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of Sin and Death. (Romans 8:2) Also see Romans 5:12 Faith activates the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, while Fear activates the Law of Sin and Death. Under the banner of the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, we find Love, Faith, Blessing, Righteousness, Healing, Peace, Prosperity, Angelic Powers, and more while under the influence of Sin and Death, there is Hate, Fear, Unbelief, Unrighteousness, Sickness, Stress, Poverty and Demons... Fast forwarding...here at the end of 2015... As I meditate on the Economy of God, I am quickened to another concept from that same series of teachings..."laws"; as economics represent "Laws" that govern a house. To ensure that we hear the same thing, let's define what a law is. What is a Law? 1. A law is a principle based on predictable circumstances of an act. 2. A law is an established principle. Just as there are natural laws, there are also spiritual laws which supersede natural laws. While in theological training, I remember a story of a famous missionary to Africa "John G Lake". While there, the deadly bubonic plague had broken out in his area hundreds died, as he cared for the sick and buried the dead. In the process of time, the British sent a ship with supplies and doctors. The doctors sent for Lake to come aboard and asked him, What have you been using to protect yourself?
Lake answered, I believe the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. And as long as I walk in the light of that law of Life, no germ will attach itself to me. " Don t you think you had better use our preventatives? the doctor urged. " No said Lake, but, doctor, I think you would like to experiment with me. If you will go over to one of these dead people and take the foam that comes out of their lungs after death, then put it under the microscope you will see masses of living germs. You will find they are alive until a reasonable time after a man is dead. You can fill my hand with them and I will keep it under the microscope, and instead of these germs remaining alive, they will die instantly. "The doctors agreed. They made the experiment and it was true. When they expressed wonder at what caused it, Lake told them, That is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus." NOTE: This verse of scripture was alive and big on the inside of Mr. John G. Lake. Consequently it worked for him. Let's look at the laws of gravity. We are all familiar with the law of gravity! Isaac Newton, got some insight into the Law of Gravity. He observed that whenever an object which was heavier than air was no longer held up by a stronger force, it fell to the earth. Since this could be replicated over and over without fail, the force of gravity became accepted as a Law. No matter how many times a branch releases an apple the force of gravity will always pull it down. The law of gravity is predictable and works the same way every time. You will not awake tomorrow morning on the ceiling. The law of gravity is predictable! Yet, there is a law that can override gravity where airplanes are concerned.
While investigating the laws of gravity, we discovered that when an aircraft reaches a speed of over 150 miles per hour on the ground, the law of gravity loses its hold on the plane and another law overrides gravity. It's called the law of lift. The law of lift enables a plane that weighs up to a half million pounds to fly and maintain it's status in the air. Yet, when the plane decreases its speed below 150 miles per hour, it starts to descend. Gravity then regains its authority over the aircraft. There are situations that are like gravity to us in life and they can hold us down. yet, when we are moving with God in the spirit, the laws of the spirit can lift us up above situations and circumstances that hold us down to the earth. Proverbs 15:24AMP You can purposefully use your faith to activate the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus and override natural circumstances. Faith is an established force of God that will always work when we act on what God say's. It's a Law! Romans 3:27 - Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. What's more, Fear, works the same way as faith, but in reverse. Here's an example: Job 3:25 - For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Also see Hebrews 11:1 Vs 26 - I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. Look at what happened with Job. Fear connected Job to the death cycle. Job said, the thing he greatly feared came upon him. Ecclesiastes 10:8 - He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. God had a hedge of protection about Job and his family! Job 1:10.
What does it mean that God "made a hedge" around Job? A hedge is a fence, boundary, or barrier to provide enclosure and protection. In other words, God insulated Job from the things Satan would have liked to do to him. God does the same for us. Under the safety of our most powerful and loving Father, nothing can compromise our protection. Some people tear down the hedge of protection that is up around them through their fear filled words and actions. Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Satan at one time, had the power of death, but not anymore. The only ability he has, is what we give to him. Hebrews 2:14-15 Job 6:23 - Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty? Job saw Satan as the mighty one! He later realized that his words got him into trouble. Vs 24 - Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. Vs 25 - How forcible are right words!... Job could not see what was going on behind the scenes. We can! In all of Job's communication, (LAWS) were working. The laws of confession and the law of faith were working-in-reverse. Fear was working to connect Job, to the death he feared, although he didn't know it. As policies are created by business owners to help steer the operations of that business, laws are created to help steer us in the right direction. The principles in and of themselves speak, yet, they were created by someone else. What am I saying? The policy can't change itself.
The person that created it, can change it. In this natural world, business owners constantly change policies to accommodate people or circumstances. Yet, with natural laws like gravity, it doesn't change. Likewise, with spiritual laws, they don't change. We must cooperate with spiritual and natural laws and not work against them! The law of gravity works even in our ignorance. The laws of the spirit work, even in our ignorance. In fact, our knowledge of the laws of the spirit... doesn't cause them to work. However, knowledge of spiritual laws enable us to cooperate with them properly. As a pilot's understanding of the law of lift enables him to have a level of confidence when flying. Likewise, understanding the law of faith and confession will enable us to have confidence, even, when natural situations and circumstances seem to disagree with your faith stance. Because you understand, that the spiritual laws are working, you will not quit. In the economy of God, there are laws at work that will enable us to have provision for any and every Godly need or desire. The way to connect to these laws is by trusting God, believing His Words and acting on those Words.
