Prince of Peace Parish Clinton, Iowa Stewardship Catalog 2017-2018 Celebrate the Faith Live the Faith Pass the Faith on to Others.

Pastor s Letter Dear brothers and sisters of Prince of Peace Parish, It is time once again to renew our commitment to stewardship in our parish. Stewardship is often thought to be only about money and how much of it we give to the church. Granted, we need money to fund our many ministries which support our mission to CELEBRATE our faith, LIVE our faith, and PASS OUR FAITH ON TO OTHERS. But STEWARDSHIP is really a WAY OF LIFE that consists of three things. First of all, we are THANKFUL for all of the gifts and talents we have received from God. In reality, everything is God gift. We are grateful for the abundant blessings God has given us, especially our faith and the promise of eternal life. Secondly, we are ACCOUNTABLE. God expects us to use the gifts and talents he has given us to build up his body, which is the church. Just as in a family, everyone needs to pitch in to do the things that need to be done, so in our church family, we need to be involved in one or more of the many ways we strive to make the church as God would have us to be. Finally, we are GENEROUS in sharing the gifts of our time, talent, and treasure. In our parish prayer, we say it is in giving that we receive. The more we give, the more we receive the fulfillment, peace, and joy God desires to share with us. Thank you for the renewal of your stewardship commitment to our parish family. May God continue to bless us as we celebrate the faith, live the faith, and pass the faith on to others in thankful, accountable, and generous ways. Sincerely in Christ, the Prince of Peace. Father Ken Kuntz

Deb Jacobsen, 242-3311 RCIC The RCIC is the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children. This is the process by which a child who has not been baptized is prepared to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. If your child is of school age and has not been baptized, the RCIC is what you are looking for! Brenda Bertram, 242-3311 20

Religious Education Catechists Wednesday evenings catechists are needed to provide instruction from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic School. Through word and example, catechists aid parents in bringing their children to an understanding of our Catholic faith. Classes are held throughout the school year. Virtus training is required. Brenda Bertram, 242-3311 Sponsor Couples One of the great components of marriage preparation is our Sponsor Couple Program. Couples who are already married meet with engaged couples four or five times to help them learn what married life is all about. You don't have to have a "perfect" marriage to do this! Please consider this important mentoring ministry. Molli Parker, 242-3311 Vocation Summer School ("Totus Tuus") "Totus Tuus" ("Totally Yours"--the motto of Saint Pope John Paul II)) provides an experience of Jesus love and Catholic community for the children of the parish during one week in June. The program is based on the mysteries of the rosary, church teaching, and singing fun songs. Many volunteers, both adults and teens, are needed in all aspects of VSS. Virtus training is required. Electronic Giving Electronic Giving is the term used to describe automatic methods for making church contributions on a regular basis without the need to write checks, use cash or prepare envelopes. Electronic Giving provides convenience for you and consistency for the church. Electronic giving eliminates frequent check writing and helps members stay on track with their financial commitments even when they are unable to attend services. The church in turn benefits from muchneeded donation consistency and a reduction in the volume of check and cash contributions that must be handled and manually processed. To enroll in Electronic Giving, or to change your current Electronic Giving amount, complete the form (see Electronic Giving form on next page) and return it with your Commitment Card or to the Parish Office at your convenience. Thank you for your stewardship of treasure! P.S. Gifts of treasure can also be made online through our secure Parish website at: www.jcpop.org - just click on Online Donations and follow the instructions for one-time or recurring contributions.
