PREPARATION for WORSHIP Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. WORSHIPING GOD S GREATNESS (*Indicates where congregation is invited to stand, as able) *CALL to WORSHIP Psalm 103 Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits Who forgives all your iniquity, Who heals all your diseases Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy Who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all. Bless the LORD, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul! 3

*SONG of ADORATION Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah (Hymn #598) Words and Music: John Hughes, Peter Williams, and William Williams Guide me O Thou great Jehovah Pilgrim through this barren land I am weak but Thou art mighty Hold me with Thy pow'rful hand Bread of heaven Bread of heaven Feed me till I want no more Feed me till I want no more. Open now the crystal fountain Whence the healing stream doth flow Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through Strong Deliverer strong Deliverer Be Thou still my strength and shield Be Thou still my strength and shield When I tread the verge of Jordan Bid my anxious fears subside Death of death and hell's destruction Land me safe on Canaan's side Songs of praises songs of praises I will ever give to Thee I will ever give to Thee 4

*PRAYER of INVOCATION and LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. ACKNOWLEDGING GOD S GRACE *CONFESSION of FAITH Philippians 2:6-11 Minister: Congregation: Whom do we worship as our Lord and King? We worship Jesus Christ as our Lord and King, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen. 5

CONFESSION of SIN Please, pray the following in unison Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly, Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in the depths but see thee in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold thy glory. Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up, that to be low is to be high, that the broken heart is the healed heart, that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul is the victorious soul, that to have nothing is to possess all, that to bear the cross is to wear the crown, that to give is to receive, that the valley is the place of vision. Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter thy stars shine; Let me find thy light in my darkness, thy life in my death, thy joy in my sorrow, thy grace in my sin, thy riches in my poverty thy glory in my valley. ASSURANCE of PARDON for BELIEVERS Proverbs 28:13-14 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity. 6

SONG of RENEWAL Just As I Am Words: Charlotte Elliott Music: Bobby Guy and Craig Brown Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot, To Thee Whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 7

Dominican Republic Mission Trip, June 2018 MINISTRY of the WEEK Save the dates for the 2018 Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. We plan to leave Sunday, June 3 and return Tuesday, June 12. The team will be joining friends from Decatur Presbyterian Church (Alabama) who work with missionaries Silvia and Samuel Martinez. Silvia is a medical doctor in El Cacique, a small community that formed around a garbage dump sear Santo Domingo. She not only takes care of the medical needs in the community, but she also started a Christian school, feeding programs for the children, and Vacation Bible School. We will be assisting her in all of those activities. As she has done in previous years, Anne-Marie will be translating the Teachers Conference for Silvia s school. That has been an amazing success. Samuel will lead a construction project in El Cacique. In past years the teams have built the hospital and school buildings Sylvia ministers from, plus installed water purification systems and other infrastructure items. We will be raising prayer and financial support in the coming months. Please consider being part of the team. See Rob, Scotty, or Anne-Marie if you have specific questions. Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, You claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following You as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and show me the reality of who You are. Amen. Prayer of Belief Heavenly Father, I admit that I am more sinful than I ever before believed, but, through Your Son Jesus, I can be more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You that He lived the life I should have lived, and paid the debt and punishment I deserved. Receive me now for His sake. I turn from my sins and receive Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Amen. Prayer for Those Struggling with Sin Lord Jesus, help me to look to You as the fulfillment of all my needs, and to turn from every false satisfaction to feed on You, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverance the race set before me, looking to You, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Amen. Prayer of Commitment Lord Jesus, You have called us to follow You in a life of committed discipleship in Your church. Grant that I may take the necessary steps to be one with Your people, and live in the fullness of Your Spirit. Amen 14
