As luck would have it, I didn t mind because I love to cook. The group that was having lunch jokingly asked me if cooking was in my job description, which made me laugh, but then think about the fact that I really don t have a job description. I just try to do whatever needs done to help make things run as smoothly as possible. However, the question about a job description got me thinking...not about my own job here at the Spiritual Center, but what if Christians had an actual job description? Wouldn t that make our life easier? It works in the marketplace so why not in our personal lives? 2 Corinthians 5:20 says We are ambassadors for Christ; God is making his appeal through us. The Apostle Paul tells us, We are to represent all that God is, all that God provides, and be active participants in His purpose. We are authorized representatives. We are God s messengers. Maybe we do have a job description and just didn t fully realize it? As Christians, it s easy to forget what our job is both at work and at home because we get distracted by both good and bad things. Maybe every once in a while, we just need to be reminded that we are being asked to be an Ambassador for Jesus. No matter where we are and what we do, all we need to do is to find a way to live our lives in a way that others know we are ambassadors for Christ. Perhaps this is easier said than done because we are broken and imperfect people. But the reality is that God wants to use us, flaws and all. God does not need perfect people just willing people. The next time someone asks me what I do or if something is in my job description, at least I can say I m an ambassador for the Spiritual Center AND I m an ambassador for Jesus I just try to do what I need to do flaws and all. pring for ard ith another Prayer, Wine, and Can as e ent! Page 5 Thursday, April 23 10:00-3:00 p.m. Theme: God BUGS Us God Bugs Us suggests God s push within us to everything deeper and more loving. Getting to know bugs better is getting to know God better at one of the most mysterious levels At the very deepest level is this reality...no bugs = no us! We are dependent for our existence on God and Bugs! A little gallery of paintings of bugs by Fr. Al, both pretty and pretty revolting, that will be referenced during the retreat will be on display. Fr. Al has chosen the human skin mite as the poster bug for the retreat, not cute, but one of our best friends both physically and spiritually. He ll explain!! Join us for great talks, prayer, lunch, and Mass! $15.00 donation per person Register by calling 419-925-7625 no later than April 20 Have you been to the Spiritual Center and have pictures you are willing to share? We love seeing pictures that are taken here and will post them on our website and in the newsletter with permission. Email your photos to robin@spiritualcenter.net A Message from the Board...by Deacon Jerry Buschur As we look back and reflect on our last year here at the Retreat House; we realize how blessed we have been. What a blessing for all the young kids that came here and experienced the power of our faith. So often we take our faith for granted and because of that we lose out on so many blessings that God has in store for us. I just talked with a Mother who was so concerned with her daughter who had just gotten married. She felt that her daughter had lost her faith and was being led astray by the ways of the world. This got to the point where the Mother couldn t even sleep at night, because she was always worrying about her daughter. I began to share with her the power that lies within each one of us; when we allow our faith to come to life through the body and blood of Jesus. So often we get to the point where our judging and criticizing get so bad; that our prayers can t be answered. After we were done talking; we then prayed together; praying an Act of Contrition, and we invited Jesus to come and renew us; that we may be empowered by the Holy Spirit to come against the ways of the world that was destroying her and her daughter. Within a few minutes her faith was restored, and her fear and anxiety left her. Because of that, she had a knowing that God was with her. Peace came into her heart and she was a new person. That is the power of our faith and the power of the body and blood of Jesus when we allow it to come to life through reconciliation. We invite all of you to come and spend some time with us at the Retreat House; just to relax, take a step back and reflect on the resurrection of Jesus, and receive the beautiful peace he has to offer us. Won t you join us, and open the door to God s blessings to start the new year?

of The Schoenstatt Picture of Grace was crafted by the Schoenstatt Brothers of Mary in German. The picture of Grace then went on pilgrimage to Weisskirchen, Pfaffenhofen, Dachau, Munich, Memholz, Liebfrauenhohe and Frankfurt in Germany plus Mols and Quarten in Switzerland. In July of 1989 the picture traveled to Wisconsin where it was blessed before arriving in Sidney, Ohio on July 12. Since arriving, the Schoenstatt picture of Mother and Child has visited many churches, Catholic centers, schools and Marian conferences in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. In the year 2000, the picture was in the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The Schoenstatt Movement has brought the Picture of Grace to its annual weekend retreats at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein and was one of the first groups to reserve the center when it reopened. On Sept. 21, 2014 Fr. Gerold Langsch officiated as the Picture of Grace was enthroned in the chapel at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein as a source inspiration and grace.
