This is the aim of your efforts to spread an authentic culture of vocations. Saint John Paul II

The Diocese of Spokane is greatly blessed with the prayers and support of the Serra Club. The Serrans, a group of Catholic laity, recognize the importance of the Catholic priesthood and consecrated life. As faithfilled men and women, they generously devote their prayer and time to help foster, nurture, and encourage these vocations throughout Eastern Washington. Members of the Serra Club come from all walks of life and have the opportunity to strengthen their own faith while enjoying the friendship of those who have the same aspirations. I am forever grateful for the efforts of the Serra Club and pray that more men and women will participate in this great gift to our Church. Most Rev. Thomas A. Daly, Bishop of Spokane Our Mission To foster and affirm vocations to the priesthood and vowed religious life in the US, and through our ministry, further our members Catholic faith. Our Goals 1. Educate and inform our members and the Catholic Community of the need for the ordained priesthood and vowed religious. 2. Encourage and affirm the priesthood and vowed religious life as a positive lifestyle. 3. Inspire and call forth a dedicated corps of leaders of Serra by spiritual and practical formation.

The Four Pillars of Serra Club 1. Vocations: Supporting and fostering vocations, through activities such as Quo Vadis Days, Vocare, seminarian picnics, clergy appreciation dinners and Five Star programs. 2. Programs: Promoting fellowship, prayer, and continuing Catholic education. 3. Communications: Informing and educating members of all club activities and relevant news. A club newsletter is the primary mode of disseminating news to club members. 4. Membership: Inspiring and motivating others to become Serrans. Serra is open to all practicing Catholic men and women, eighteen years of age or older. History 1935 First Serra Club was formed in Seattle, WA with Junipero Serra as our patron. 1937 2nd Serra Club was formed in Spokane, WA. 1985 Junipero Serra was venerated by Pope John Paul II. 1988 Pope John Paul II proclaimed Junipero Serra blessed. 2000 Serra Club of the Tri-Cities was chartered. 2015 Pope Francis canonized Junipero Serra as a saint. 2016 Serra Clubs in Walla Walla and Coeur d Alene were chartered.

Testimonials: It is a blessing that God called me I to be part of this amazing prayerful group. Through Serra I am able to support and be friends with priests, seminarians and women religious. Serra s call to personal holiness has strengthened my spiritual life. Through Serra I have made life-long friends with people who want to see our church grow and be strong for future generations. Sue Manfred, Spokane Serra Club President I have enjoyed the association of dedicated people in furthering the work of the Church in supporting our clergy and vowed religious. Speakers at our luncheons have been stimulating and informative in the numerous methods of increasing our spirituality. Serra has been a real blessing for me. Martin Weber, Serra Regional Director Serra is one of the most significant groups to which a Catholic can belong, since it supports the heart of the future of the Church: vocations to priesthood and religious life. The members of Serra have inspired, stimulated, encouraged and drawn forth those who would give their lives to God. My heart is filled with gratitude when I think of the Serra Club!
