Parish Mission Statement The mission of the Catholic communities of St. Blaise and St. Brendan is to be a people united in the Eucharist and dedicated to spreading the Good News of God s saving love to all. We seek to encourage the full and active participation of all God s children and be a place where they can come to know, love, and serve God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we give witness to the teachings of Jesus Christ by actively living the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, thereby being signs of God s love in the world. Christians of all denominations and ages are welcome. Participants will gather on the Church Square end of the common. Together, they will walk through and around the Franklin town common and back to St. Mary s lawn, pausing along the way to reflect on Jesus great love for us. Teens from the Rock Youth Ministry of St. Mary s parish will read reflections and prayers at each stop. Families and friends from surrounding communities and churches are encouraged to unite on Good Friday for this meaningful procession to remember Christ s Passion. ~Palm Sunday of the Lord s Passion~ This story never gets old. How quickly things change, from Hosanna and palm branches to Crucify him! Crucify him!. Strange that it was Pilate who asked: Are you the king of the Jews? And then, correctly, publicly, identified him:...they placed over his head the written charge against him: This is Jesus, the King of the Jews. He is our King. During this holiest week of the year, spend some time in church or in quiet prayer reflecting on the way of the Cross (the Stations) with the One Who died for you. On Good Friday - good because it is the day we were redeemed - when we sing Were You There will you be able to say, Yes, Lord I walked - and will continue to walk with you? Church Decorating~ Volunteers are needed on Saturday April 15th at 9:00 am to assist with decorating the church for our Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday worship.
