Vision 2200 Prayer Guide VISION 2200 PRAYER GUIDE This prayer guide is intended to facilitate our heart-felt and specific prayers around the vision that God has given The Harbor to impact His Kingdom. Vision 2200 is a passionate, Spirit-led effort to fill our facility wi people that are encountering Jesus and becoming fully devoted followers of Him. We believe God has provided five primary strategies to accomplish this vision, as follows: 1. Prayer -with particular emphasis on Vision 2200 and the strategies that comprise this vision. 2. Evangelism - with every sunrise that our attenders will be boldly seeking to make Jesus known to those in their sphere of influence (includes Top 3 initiative), and invitin people to encounter Jesus (and then grow spiritually) at The Harbor. 3. Sunday Morning Worship Services - that our services would allow attenders, in increasing measure, to: experience the Presence of God; hear from Him; experience the warmth and love of genuine Christian community, and, as a result, be compelled to respond both in worship and obedience to Jesus. 4. Social Media - that The Harbor would increase the effectiveness in which we use social media tools (including but not limited to applications like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), as well as our website, to communicate to people in a compelling and engaging way.

5. Alvin (+) - increase the reach of our draw to people to be a part of the ministries of The Harbor beyond the Friendswood borders. This strategy will focus first on Alvin, and then expand into other surrounding communities such as Pearland, League City, Manvel, Santa Fe, Webster, etc. This five-day (Monday-Friday) devotional is organized such that each of the five Vision 2200 strategies will be corporately prayed for on the same day of the week by many, though intercessors will not be necessarily in the same place. Monday - Prayer Core Value of The Harbor: The work of the church is first, and foremost, prayer, by which all other work is led, supported, and empowered. The level to which God is able to bring the fullness of His vision for The Harbor to fruition will be directly related to the level of authentic and consistent prayers that we, as the Church, lift to Him. God delights in answering prayers that are in alignment with His will. Scripture affirmation Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. For everyone who asks, receives. Matthew 7:7, 8 Scripture affirmation Yet you don t have what you want because you don t ask God for it. James 4:2 Scripture affirmation And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:14-15 Scripture affirmation Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip of every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has se before us. Hebrews 12:1 That the church, led by the Board and Staff, will passionately and consistently pray that God will accomplish all He intends with Vision 2200. That God will fill our facility to capacity for our two scheduled worship services on Sunday mornings, which would therefore include approximately 2200 people on campus (adults, students, and children) on every given Sunday.

That The Harbor attenders will commit to Vision 2200 with passion and with an attitude of perseverance to do God s Kingdom work. That God will increasingly reveal effective and powerful ways the church can engage in individual and corporate prayer around the Vision 2200 strategies and initiatives (such as Top 3 corporate prayer gatherings, Sunday morning prayer team(s) praying throughout services, neighborhood prayer walks, small group prayer initiatives, respective ministry team prayer focus). That Harbor attenders will be willing to receive an increased level of accountability from others toward their engagement with prayer around our Vision 2200 initiatives. Tuesday - Evangelism Core Value of The Harbor: We believe God wants every person to find forgiveness and eternal life through His son, Jesus Chris The most effective means of filling our facility with people who are encountering Jesus and becoming fully devoted followers of Him is through the personal invitations of those that currently ca The Harbor home. Vision 2200 calls for us to live out our faith daily in our families, communities, workplaces, recreational activities and that means that we are invited to do something in this life tha we will not be able to do in heaven. Let me share an old story imagined by someone. When Jesus ascended back into heaven he was met by Gabriel. Gabriel was terribly interested in what our Lord had been doing on earth. Jesus responded by explaining that while on earth, he had died on the cross to save men from their sins and had been raised up by God s power. He had now returned to heaven to take his place at God s right hand to intercede for those whom he had come to save. Jesus concluded by saying that it was his desire that all people everywhere hear the message of what he had done for them. Gabriel asked, And what is your plan for getting this done. Our Lord responded, I have left the message in the hands of a dozen or so men. I am trusting them to spread it everywhere. Somewhat surprised, Gabriel exclaimed, Twelve men! What if they fail? Jesus is reported to have said, I have no other plan. The truth is that Jesus left the privilege and task of evangelism not only to the first disciples but to us as well. Scripture affirmation Jesus came and told his disciples, I hav been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name o the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:18-1

Scripture affirmation Here s another way to put it: You re to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don t think I m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I m putting you on a light stand. Now that I ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 Scripture Affirmation - Then I heard the Lord asking, Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us? I said, Here I am. Send me. Isaiah 6:8 Scripture Affirmation But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent. Romans 10:14-15 That God would place a burning passion in our souls for the lost so that we can point them to life in Jesus. That you, and increasing numbers of Harbor attenders, will passionately engage in having a Top 3. That you, and these Harbor attenders, will: o Pray with every sunrise for their Top 3. o Invest their lives into the lives of their Top 3. o Invite their Top 3 into the ministry and support of o The Harbor. Tell their Top 3 the Good News of the hope of eternal life Jesus came to offer them. That Harbor attenders will be willing to receive an increased level of accountability from others toward their engagement with the Top 3 tool for reaching people. That God would reveal new and engaging ways for The Harbor to conduct outreach events, both on campus, and in the communities within our reach, to expose people to the love of Jesus, and to His local church.

Wednesday Sunday Morning Worship Service God has graciously provided a facility, gifted individuals, and other tangible resources in order that people would gather together regularly to encounter Him. Our Sunday morning worship service is one of two primary anchors God has provided to live out our mission of introducing people to Jesus and helping them become fully devoted followers of Him (Small Groups being the second anchor). Scripture affirmation And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 Scripture affirmation Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Revelation 3:20 That those staff and volunteers responsible for planning Sunday morning services will increasingly hear from the Holy Spirit as to elements of the service that will most deeply resonate with those in attendance (such as music, technical effects like lighting, messages, creative elements like videos, live personal testimonies/interviews). That those attending will: o Experience the Presence of God in the music, in the environment created in the worship space, in special creative elements that may be used, in the teaching, in the offering and announcements, and in the fellowship. Scripture affirmation I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your Presence! If I go up to heaven yo are there, if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even the your hand will guide me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night but even in the darkness I cannot hide from you. Psalm 139:7-12 Hear from God based upon His unchanging truth contained in song lyrics, passages read from His Word, teaching offered during the message. Scripture affirmation The Lord says It is the same with my Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Isaiah 55:10 Experience the genuine warmth and love of Christian community, in every space on the property in the parking lot, as they enter the church, in the worship center, in every ministry location. In every encounter with a follower of Jesus, they would feel genuinely welcomed, known, cared for, and pointed toward th Love of Jesus. Scripture affirmation So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. John 13:34-35 Be so compelled by the experience of God s Presence, God s Voice, and Christian Community, that they would respond to Him in authentic worship and an increased desire to follow Him in obedience. Scripture affirmation Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for He is our God. We are the people He watches over, the flock under his care. If onl you would listen to his voice today! Psalm 95:6-7

Scripture affirmation Even more blessed are all who hear the Word of God and place it into practice. Luke 11:28 Scripture affirmation Don t just listen to God s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:22 Thursday Social Media Webster s Dictionary defines social media as forms of communication through which people create online communitie to share information, ideas, personal messages, etc. The Harbor uses numerous social media avenues such as: Billboards Newspaper ads Email Snail mail Facebook Twitter Instagram Vimeo TheHarbor.life Just as Jesus used the then current social media (Jesus used the social medium of language as he taught and he used the socia medium of print when he read from the Torah and other books to draw people to Himself, so The Harbor must prayerfully and effectively use social media to point people to Jesus. That God reveals His best vision and strategy for using Social Media as a communication tool for The Harbor. That God both educates and identifies staff or key volunteer(s) to manage our Social Media strategy with consistency and high effectiveness. That God would use The Harbor s social media tools to present the Gospel of Jesus clearly so that spiritual, social, cultural, political, demographic barriers would be removed. That God would use Social Media to greatly expand the effective reach of its ministry.

That God uses this primary communication tool to draw people to our campus, and to challenge Christ followers to a deeper surrender to Jesus. Friday Alvin (+) Vision 2200 includes reaching the city of Alvin, as well as other surrounding communities to Friendswood, in a more effective way. Vision 2200 invites us to reach Alvin through: prayer, evangelism, Sunday morning worship services, and social medi Reaching into Alvin with the Gospel encourages that The Harbo be intentional in building relationships within this city. Jesus said, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 That the name change to The Harbor will remove a significant barrier for residents of Alvin to attend. This barrier may include social, demographic, ideological barriers. That our church will be prepared to receive all those wh God sends our way. That current attenders of The Harbor that live in Alvin wi catch the fire for Vision 2200, and will passionately and deeply engage in reaching their neighbors, classmates, co-workers, and friends in Alvin. That God will identify additional gifted leaders in Alvin such that adult small groups can expand exponentially. That God will break down barriers that have kept Alvin students from deeply engaging with our student ministry That The Harbor will engage in serving/compassion/outreach opportunities within the ci limits of Alvin such that an authentic, spiritual and emotional connection will be established with residents and businesses in Alvin to our church.

That God will dramatically, stunningly increase the number of Alvin residents that engage in life with Jesus and with The Harbor community, including regularly and vibrantly attending Sunday worship services and other on-campus ministries.
