I stood at the entrance to the cemetery in total awe for two and one half hours as the traffic filed in, bumper to bumper, wheel to wheel, to attend the ceremony. In awe that so many people would take the time to honor and show respect for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country along with the men and women who lived a full life and have the honor to be interned in the cemetery because they served to protect our freedom. I am honored and pleased to say that twenty-two Eagle Riders from Aerie 4208 participated in this event. I would also like to thank the Aerie for approving the purchase of 30 wreaths to be placed on the graves of our Veterans. I decided that I would like to return to the cemetery, to see the wreaths th in place. On December 26, I returned. I had been there one other time and only saw one small portion of the cemetery. On this trip, however, I made the decision to ride around and try to get the entire picture. I still don't think I have seen the entire cemetery. So many wreaths. So many lives. I would urge you to visit our web page at: www.foe4208.org and go to the Eagle Rider Section. Pam has posted pictures of the event on their page. Please keep in mind, however, that this is only a glimpse of the event. Thank you to all of our Veterans everywhere. What a wonderful event chaired by Beth Bendl and Nicki William. I understand a few elves were involved. Thank you Annski, Gail Beaudoin and Tammy Howlett. (Sorry if I missed anyone.) With the help of our Aerie and Auxiliary membership we were able to help six families this year. Believe me, it is more blessed to give than receive if you could see the faces of these deserving families. I myself, was the recipient of a much unexpected gift on Christmas Eve, PSP Rich Scott gave me Kay Scott's PMP ring. I am truly overwhelmed that she requested I received her ring. There are Angels amongst us and she was truly and always is one of mine. Kay was not only a Past Madam President but a Grand Auxiliary Hall of Fame member. Not many people in our life time will have that accolade. She is our Auxiliary Mother of the Year and I can still feel her spirit and guidance. Mark your calendars for January 7, 2017. A great fundraiser is planned for our Brother, Paul Congdon who had a horrible motorcycle accident and by the grace of God is still here. He has come a long way, but still has a long way to go. So let's get together and support him and Barb on this long difficult road to recovery. We will have music, raffles and 50/50 and lots of camaraderie. Looking forward to February11 for the Ladies Auxiliary Charity Fundraiser. Marvin will be there and so will the Judge and Sheriff. Happy and a blessed New Year to all. I have been cleaning out and updating my office files and really need your help with addresses and phone numbers. If you have two addresses I would greatly appreciate having both and approximately when you are at each. Dues reminders and notices get sent out and are not reaching you or being forwarded causing members to be dropped by Grand Aerie MMS. Even having your e-mail and current phone numbers helps with reaching you. All you need to do is drop a note in my mail slot by my office door. We hate losing members because of lack of information. Please take the time to read the posters in the foyer and what they have to offer you by bringing in a new member or getting an old member to re-enroll. Also, check the Event Board to see what is being offered and happening at our Aerie. Wishing all the members a Happy Healthy New Year. Your Aerie Secretary, Debbi
