Most Reverend Bishop Joe S. Vásquez, Retired Bishop John McCarthy, Worthy Master, Reverend Fathers, Sir Knights and Ladies: The first thing I would like to do is to thank our PFN Greg for an Excellent job this last Fraternal year. We had some very good numbers at most of our Fallouts. As the first two ranking Officers of the Assembly, we participated in the most Fallouts, willing to do as much as we asked of you. As we plan to Celebrate our 100 years as an Assembly, we will hopefully continue to have great participation especially in those events that other Assemblies are invited to. We should want to hear Wow, there are always a lot of members from 1099 present. In mentioning the 100 years for 1099, planning is already under way, being led by Sir Knights Bill Harris and Ed Martin. We will have more meetings scheduled and will also need men to step up and head the different chairs needed to put on a successful Exemplification. Those chairmen will also need men to help with each phase. The date has been set for March 22. In giving thanks, I also want to thank our new Officers for stepping up, some are just sliding into th next position, but others like our Faithful Comptroller and Purser are new to their jobs. The biggest Thanks goes out to our Faithful Friar, Father Mike. Who as I went through the formality of asking him to serve again, said But of Course, that is what I planned on!. Sounded a lot like what Father Zink would have said. Sir Knights we will also have a bit of important business to conduct at this July Meeting. It is with very mixed and sad feelings that I am informing you of the withdrawl from the Pilot position by Kevin Russel. Kevin has personnel issues that need to be resolved. And Kevin has also withdrawn from CCC and newsletter Editor. I would ask that we all continue to Pray and support Kevin and his Famiily in this time, and that all will be resolved in his favor. It has been 10 years since my first go at Faithful Navigator, it seems so long ago. A lot has happened since then. I was finishing my 6th year as a District Deputy. I have been the State Youth Director, worked on the Football Sweepstake Team and started our First Degree Team here at St. Ignatius. The Assembly has moved from St. Peter s to the Community Center on S. First, to St. John Nueman, and to St. Ignatius Martyr, our current home. We have had Father Zink, Monsenior Matocha, Father Jim Evans and now Father Mike as our Faithful Friars. That is just the last ten years. You only need to look at the two wall plaques of Past Faithful Navigators to see
Page 2 Volume 9, Issue 12 what a rich history we have. Lets make sure we start the next 100 off right to continue the Proud Traditions of Bishop Louis Reicher Assembly 1099. Be Proud of your Assembly and that you are a Fourth Degree Knight, I know I am. Keep your Swords Bright! Faithful Navigator Roger Ibarra, Jr. Fallouts Scheduled for July Special Election As mentioned in the Faithful Navigator s report, we will need to Elect a new Pilot for the Assembly. We will be taking Nominations and electing for this position. This position is open to all members of the Assembly, however, before you makke a nomination you must first get that Sir Knight s approval. To keep a long story as short as possible, my wife was admitted to St. David s Hospital because of the inability to stand or walk. All of this started 3 weelks ago with a fever and cough that lasted 5 days. Initially it was thought she had ruptured a disc from all th coughing. After many visits to the Doctor and ER, several different rounds of anti-biotics and pain medicine, steroids, and a Spinal Tap and her rapid loss of her legs, she has still not been diagnosed with anything specific as of today. I thank you all for your e-mails and Prayers, and ask that you continue to pray for her. SK Roger Ibarra, Jr. FN Let me know by our Meeting and bring your money so tht the Assembly will write 1 check for us, as per request of #2245. More details on this at our Meeting on Monday. Fallout: Men s Mass at St. Mary s Cathedral, Fallout at 9:15am
