CHRIST - KING OF ALL Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament 10:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. On this, the final Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only king over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. At the end of time as we know it, Christ s work of restoring all things to unity and harmony with their Creator God will be completed. This Sunday, when we claim Christ as both our Shepherd and our King, we recognize our own calling to participate in Christ s saving work by caring for those whom Jesus calls the least ones (Matthew 25:45). Today to celebrate this great feast in a special way, we will have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following our 9:30 a.m.. A period of Eucharistic Adoration will occur until 12:00 noon, concluding our Adoration with Benediction. During our time of Adoration the rosary will be prayed along with The Litany to Christ the King. There will also be opportunities for private prayer and the Sacrament of Penance. Please plan to join us for this special devotion to our Lord on this wonderful day devoted to His Kingship and our discipleship. Update on our 2017 Diocesan Lenten Appeal As we conclude the liturgical year, I am so pleased to report that our 2016-2017 Fiscal Year was one in which we made wonderful strides in regard to our parish s financial obligations. A Financial Report is included as a bulletin supplement this weekend. Please review it. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our Parish Financial Council. This year s Diocesan Lenten Appeal was extremely successful. We received in pledges and gifts a total of $51,830.00 of which to date $48,909.50 has been paid. The parish has received to date refunds in total of $26,521.00. As outlined in our Parish Case Statement, I am pleased to report our refunds were able to finance our new campus wide security system including cameras, new flooring in the Parish Office and areas of the Rectory and a new set of Rectory front doors that will be installed by the end of January. Thank you for your generous response to this years appeal which has allowed us to make these planned improvements to our Parish s physical plant.
