PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends, Jai Shree Ram! At the very outset, I would like to wish you ALL a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. As we enter 2018, Hari Om Mandir Parivar will be welcoming the New Year with Sunderkand Path. I encourage you all to join us on the very first day of the Year, Monday morning, the 1 st of Jan at 9.30am, and seek Blessings from Hanuman Ji for a blissful year ahead. During the past years, HOM has been organizing the Akhand Ramayan Path, starting on the 31 st of Dec, and concluding on the 1 st of Jan. However, over the past few years, it has been observed that not too many people can come to the Temple at Midnight and ring in the New Year. Our Senior Community is restricted due to night driving issues, and our Young Community seems to enjoy more at the Parties and Concerts. So, keeping in mind the convenience of ONE & ALL, this year the Mandir Management decided to organize the New Year Program during the day, on the 1 st of Jan, and seek Blessings from God Almighty. A Group of Singers from India, accompanied by well-known Tabla Player of the Chicagoland area, Dada Puran Vyas, will be reciting the Sunderkand Path on this special occasion. Snacks & Tea will also be served from 9.30 to 10.30 am before the Start of the Program, and conclude with a lavish Lunch at 1pm. I cordially invite YOU ALL to join us and welcome the New Year 2018 with a bang!!! As I look back into the year gone by, I feel a sense of pride on the achievements we had, the programs we launched, the progress we made during 2017. I also feel greatly indebted and humbled by the immense support and co-operation I received from all the Devotees of HOM, who helped me and my TEAM to serve the Temple and the Community at large. Together we celebrated grand functions like the Independence Day, Childrens Day, Special Navratre Jagran, besides the regular events like Holi, Diwali, Youth Night, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Picnic etc. I am pleased to see the improving attendance in our Sunday Congregations, however, I am hoping for more participation & even better attendance in 2018. I am also aware of the shortcomings and the times when we could not live up to the expectations, when we had failed to provide & make adequate food arrangements etc etc. My sincere apologies for all the inconvenience caused. My TEAM is committed to bring in Quality Programs and celebrate our Culture with enthusiasm. Last but not the least, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every Member of the EB, BOT and the Guardian of the temple, without whom I could not have taken a step forward Thanks for all the hard work, Cooperation and Trust. Chairman message 2017 Year is ending and 2018, a new year has dawned. I pray to Lord Krishna to bless healthy, happy and prosperous New Year to every household of Hari Om Parivar. This is the time we analyze all the activities of 2017 and we appreciate the successes we have received during the year and where we need improvements. Overall we received successes in many of the programs during the year and credit of these successes goes to the leadership of Vipan Wadhera, Executive Board President and guidance of Ayodhia Salwan, Mandir s guardian. I congratulate all the outgoing board members who have completed their term successfully and welcome all the new board members elected to EB and BOT boards to serve the Hindu Society. I also congratulate all the volunteers and subcommittee members who have provided excellent services during the year. Volunteers are integral part of operation of Hari Om Mandir. All the major events in the temple are performed with the help of volunteers and the Mandir staff Services provided to Hari Om Mandir, in real sense services are offered to Lord Hari I. salute all of you for your dedication, devotion and generous support. I humbly request all the devotees to treat and respect fellow devotees and Mandir staff with politeness and respect and abide by management s guidelines. Hari Om Parivar is one big family and our strength lies in our unity. Upcoming events at the Hari Om Mandir for the next two to three months include Lohri, Mahashivratri, Holika Dahan, Ram Naumi and Holi celebrations etc we need your help and generous support in celebration of the upcoming events. Management is continuously keep working to make improvements in the Mandir. Last year existing lights were replaced w/led lights to conserve energy, additional parking spaces were added to relieve congestion during special events and existing parking lot was resurfaced. Management is working on the new addition, which includes additional coat rooms. An elevator will be installed in the proposed addition for the growing old devotees. I humbly request all the volunteers to provide service and generous financial support to make our temple as vibrant place.
