NEUSE NEWS December 2016 January 2017 www.nbachurches.com Neuse Notes from Jon Gratitude is not normally the attitude of the unsaved (Rom 1:21), but it should be the characteristic of the saved (1 Thes 5:18). It is good to depend upon our God but sometimes we rob the joy from others to allow them to help out in their part. We all have honest opportunity to experience true thanksgiving as we live our everyday life. We experience God s provision in that our needs are met and our bodies are nourished. The experience of both physical and spiritual healing allows us to share mercy at all levels; it is true that one hundred years from now we ll look at situations from a different perspective. Our adversary realizes our true debt and is an expert at assuring we ll deal with disappointment, discouragement, dismay and even despair. But God s grace is always available although His will is not always according to our timing! In the familiar story of the Ten Lepers, Jesus healed all ten but only one came back; only one praised God; and only one expressed thanks. God desires honest responses and Jesus was pleased by the one man s true thanksgiving; as a result, God was glorified. We should duplicate this response and share this testimony as we re made aware of it. Our life should be filled with praise and thanksgiving and not be so self-involved with only our single value orientation. Moreover, Salvation that we don t deserve is offered to each of us whom God loves and for whom Jesus paid in full. We are fully able to claim this free gift and will in turn have something more valuable than tempered health and more long-lasting than a mere few years. Where are you and I in this story? Have we understood and involved ourselves in this reality, and are we employing this truth by sharing with others the joy of giving real thanks for the Salvation offered to all from our Savior, Jesus?
