What is God saying to you? Some people believe in God. Some people don't. Some people don't know what they believe. Wanna know what we believe? We think He's real. He's good. And He wants to say something to you. We're going to explore 5 ways God speaks to us. Week of: June 17-23, 2017
The Five Week 3: Failure BIG IDEA Don't waste your failures; listen to what God is telling you through them. NEXT STEP Share your failure and hear what God says about it through community and the Bible. DISCUSSION AND ACTIVITIES Icebreaker (5 min) What was the last thing you failed at? (Maybe it was a test, a job interview or a sports thing.) Breakout Questions (25 min) 1. Have you ever had a failure pushed back in your face? How was that experience? 2. On the flip side, have you ever been given a second (or third, or fourth) chance even after a colossal failure? How was that experience? 3. What do you think motivated Peter to pick himself up after his colossal failure? What motivates you to keep pushing forward after you fail? 4. God doesn t expect us to be perfect. What is your reaction to that statement? Is it hard or easy to believe? If you truly believed it, how would your life be different? 5. Challenge: Think about this question: What would you consider your greatest failure? Could be something too difficult to forget or accept forgiveness for? Or something you keep secret? SHARE: The Enemy wants to keep you from hearing God s voice through community so he convinces us not to share our failures. It s a bold move and God will honor it. Share that failure with us. DECLARE: After a failure is shared, our group will declare, together and in unison, You are free. DRAW: To finish, the student who shared draws a verse card (have the cards face down in the middle of the group) and reads what it says out loud. What is God saying to you? Repeat SHARE, DECLARE, DRAW for each student that shares. (Insert series banner artwork.)
