ANNUNCIATION PARISH Christian Formation Commission Meeting Our Annunciation Parish Christian Formation Commission will meet this Tuesday, March 7, at 7:00 p.m. in our Faith Formation Room. St. Vincent de Paul Meeting Our Annunciation Parish St. Vincent de Paul Conference will have their monthly meeting this Tuesday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. All are welcome to become involved in this outreach ministry that seeks to provide emergency material assistance to those in our neighborhood who are in need. Interested in Becoming Catholic? If you have no church home, or are attending Annunciation but are not Catholic, have you ever thought about becoming Catholic or wondered how someone becomes Catholic? There is no commitment required for someone to begin the inquiry process - just an openness to ask questions and find out what is involved in the process for becoming Catholic. Come and see! If you or someone you know is interested in finding out more about the possibility of becoming Catholic, please contact Father Grogan or Dr. Sandi Chakeres at the Parish Office, 861-1295. Eucharistic Holy Hour Please join us this Wednesday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. in church for Eucharistic Exposition and Adoration, beginning with brief prayer and song. There will then be time for quiet, personal prayer, reading, meditation, contemplation, and adoration. We will conclude with Benediction at 8:00 p.m. All are welcome! First Communion Family Preparation Children preparing for First Communion and their parents are reminded of our First Communion Family Preparation gathering this Thursday, March 9, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in church. The Light is ON for You! In most parishes or pastoral regions across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, including Annunciation Parish, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available on Tuesday, March 14 from 7:00pm 9:00pm. During this season of Lent, consider making a commitment to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and know the healing grace of God s mercy and love. Learn more at: www.lightison4u.org CLIFTON, CINCINNATI, OHIO Your Prayers Are Requested Please remember to keep in your prayers those of our Parish Community who are unable to be with us at our Sunday Eucharist: Freddie Domineack, Bertie Domineack Harper, Patterson Harper, Joseph Chaky, Jim San Filippo, Mary Thomas, Margaret Talbert, Cheryl Walz, Vince Frasher, David Koenig, Raul Florez, Anna Heuck, Lucy Richardson, Henrietta Bernard, Pam Martini, Theresia Mesgetz, Molly Minihan, Tom Vonderahe, and Patricia & Harvey Sander. If you know of someone else who should be included in this list, please call the Rectory. Also, your prayers are requested for the safety, and safe return, of all the men and women serving our country in the armed forces. Annunciation School Faith Formation News Our weekly celebration of Morning Prayer with students and faculty, preschool-8th grade, is Thursday, March 9th at 9:30 a.m. in church. During Lent, we will also be praying the Stations of the Cross during Morning Prayer. All are welcome to join us for prayer! Thursday, March 9 is the feast of Saint Frances of Rome, one of the Patron Saints of our physical education classes. For more information about Faith Formation at Annunciation School, please contact our Director of Faith Formation, Dr. Sandi Chakeres at 861-1295. Join Us For Easter 2017! The Sacred Paschal Triduum, the highpoint of our entire Church Year, will be celebrated sundown Thursday, April 13 to sundown Sunday, April 16. As a parish community, it is important that we celebrate the Triduum together. Mark your calendars and plan your schedules now, so that all family members can join us for the great liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord! Pray for Persecuted Christians! Remember to pray for Christians around the world who are being persecuted daily for our faith. A suggested prayer can be found in church in the basket on the altar rail below our icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Our Lady of Perpetual help, pray for us! Vocation View During this time of fasting we may be tempted to go astray. Pray for the grace to follow the way that leads to life. (Matthew 4:1-11) To Help You Prepare For Next Sunday: Genesis 12:1-4a; 2 Timothy 1:8b-10; Matthew 17:1-9

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT MARCH 5, 2017 CRS Rice Bowl Week One: Focus on India Priyanka Baliar Singh (age 12) with her mother, Megharani (Megha) Baliar Singh, as she cooks outdoors. (Photo by Jennifer Hardy/Catholic Relief Services) The Singh family lives in Deipur Village in Block Kanas, Puri district, Odisha state in Eastern India. They receive assistance through CRS Community-Based Disaster Preparedness (CBDP) program. CBPD provides a range of disaster preparedness and resilience interventions, such as livestock vaccinations, improved varieties of rice that can withstand flooding, kitchen gardens, bag gardens and nutrition education. All of these interventions help the family withstand natural disasters and personal crises, and often allows them to save money for other family needs. The 3 goals of CBPD are 1) preparedness, 2) mitigating agriculture and livestock losses, and 3) early recovery, which includes kitchen gardens because they re fast growing. CRS runs CBPD in partnership with the Society for Women Action Development (SWAD) and also received technical assistance from the Central Rice Research Institute. CBDP receives funding from the COFRA Foundation in Europe. Learn more at www.crsricebowl.org. Would you like to learn more about CRS Rice Bowl, our parish Lenten Outreach?
