She is currently pursuing her master s degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. Mrs. Patel has taught elementary music for 18 years, with the last 11 at in Spring ISD. She is also in her eleventh year assisting the directors of the Spring ISD Elementary Honor Choir. Patel has three grown children. She and her husband, Manny live in Houston, Texas. About the Ensemble The is a group of fourth and fifth graders from School. Jenkins, located in Spring ISD, just north of Houston Texas, serves 822 students in grades Pre- Kindergarten through five. Any student in fourth or fifth grade who is willing to make the commitment is eligible for membership in the group. The ensemble rehearses during regularly scheduled music class, and after school. Under Mrs. Patel s direction, the has been a regular award winner at the annual Children s Music Festival of Houston, has twice performed during Arts Education Days at the State Capitol, and has made numerous appearances around the Houston area.
