Dual Fulfillment David s Submitted to the LORD and.
Jesus Submitted to the Authority of the Father Therefore He was NOT moved away from doing His Will
John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, Hades Let me show you the Greek word here from www.blueletterbible.org
This is NOT the Greek word for hell with unquenchable fire.
Gehenna or Hell
Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, David and now Peter remind us that we each have a soul
Acts 2:27 neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Was David calling himself thine Holy One?
Look Back to Luke 4:34 (Mark 1:24)
Luke 4:34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
Acts 2:27 neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
David is NOT the Holy One David s body did see corruption!
Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of Psalm 16 Yet David could also say:
Acts 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways [paths] of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance [presence].
Are you on the right path? Have you experienced the presence of the Lord?
Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ [the Messiah] to sit on his throne; This is the Davidic Covenant
Where is the David Covenant found? 2 Samuel 7
1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies; 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains. 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee. 4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying, 5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in? 6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. 7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar? 8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel: 9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off
9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth. 10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime, 11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house. 12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. Perhaps you will recall that we talked about the Christ s Kingdom a few Sunday s ago.
The Kingdom of God 1. God is the King who has given his Son the throne and the Kingdom 2. Only believers enter the kingdom 3. All enemies will be destroyed 4. When Christ returns his kingdom will absorb all earthly kingdoms 5. It is everlasting in its duration 6. Only the righteous enter this kingdom
Acts 2:31 He [David] seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell [Hades], neither his flesh did see corruption.
Prior to Jesus death the disciples did NOT connect the resurrection dots because they saw no reason for Jesus to die

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, ESV Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God Turn over to Phil 2:5ff
Paul Teaches Us that Christ s Exaltation was his Reward for His Obedience Phil 2:9
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
