Prayer Scriptures I have some scriptures here that I want to share with you to help build your faith up and renew your mind to God's Word in the area of prayer. Please take the time to read each verse and continue to do so during the day, marking them in your Bible, for at the appropriate time, they will be an excellent tool to share with someone else. I know that before when into the ministry, on my secular job, I would always witness about the Lord to people on a daily basis. Sometimes, I would find fellow believers who may have been struggling in their walk with the Lord, for they had not been taught the Word of faith. So I would share scriptures with them from my Bible and show them the promises of God and that He wanted to meet their needs. So, not only was I applying the Word of God to my life, but God was also using me to share His Word with others. Of course, I got all kinds of responses: positive and negative. But one great thing about giving people the Word-- you're not giving them your opinion; you're showing them from the Bible what God has said. They may not respond immediately, but someday, the Holy Ghost will bring the scriptures back to them, long after you sowed the seed. So, we're to use God's Word for ourselves and to help us in our believing and receiving from God, as well as to use it as a sword of the spirit in combating the devil and his unbelief, doubt, worry and fear, and to use it to share with others, so they can learn. We must always remember, that if our prayers are going to be productive when we approach God, we've got to approach Him reverently and in Jesus' Name. When we pray, we need to pray scripturally. That way, we know we're praying God's will and after we pray, we can continually claim God's promises. That will keep us in faith and help keep us from wavering and wondering, as well as enabling us to take these scriptures and speak them out loud when the devil comes around and tells us we're not going to get what we prayed for. We can say, " Satan, it is written, " and then quote Mark 11:24 and say, " I prayed and I believe I received in Jesus' Name ". Just keep meditating on these verses of scripture and see yourself possessing what you prayed for. All this is done by faith in God's Word and in the Name of Jesus. 1 Samuel 12:23: Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: Job 22:27: Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Matthew 6:5-13: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 7:7:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:11: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 9:37, 38: Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers ore few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. Matthew 18:18-20: Verily I say unto you, What soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Matthew 21:22: And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Mark 11:24: Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Luke 11:5-13: And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 18:1: And he spoke a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. John 15:7: If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 16:23,24: And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 17:24,25:
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare [it]: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. Acts 4:31: And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 6:4: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 10:4: And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. Romans 8:26-27: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 15:30: Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, Ephesians 6:18: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Philippians 1:3,4: I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, Philippians 4:6: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Colossians 4:2, 3: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: 1 Thessalonians 1:2: We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 1 Thessalonians 3:10:
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? 1 Thessalonians 5:17: Pray without ceasing. 2 Thessalonians 3:1: Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: 1 Timothy 2:1-4; 8: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth...i will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 1 Timothy 4:4,5: For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. Philemon 4: I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hebrews 4:14-16: Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 10:23 & 35: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)...cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. James 4:2-3: Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 5:13-18: Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
I John 5:14-15: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1 John 5:16: If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. I look forward to sharing with you tomorrow. Brother Rich Remember, God wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 2).
