The Outreach Committee would like to thank all of those who attended the Weekday School Emphasis program on Sunday, June 14. Your support with this ministry is greatly appreciated. It was so wonderful to have a packed house on Sunday! There were 40 plus children, as well as their families, from the FBC Weekday School and the After School program. They provided a worshipful experience of song, prayer, responsive reading, scripture, family testimony, and sign language interpretation, as well as a video overview of the great work this program is providing to our community and our children. The FBC Weekday School and After School programs are wonderful ministry programs for the children and families in our community. We have over 90 children in our building Monday - Friday receiving a Christian education and learning about Jesus. What a great ministry to bring the word of Christ from our church to the community! In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." In Christ's Love, The FBC Outreach Committee Save Them One By One Kelsey Thomas will be going to Nicaragua July 12-19 to minister to children. She is going with Jennifer Mason who started her own ministry, Save Them One By One, which provides school uniforms to the less fortunate kids of Nicaragua. They are in need of more people to sponsor the children and get uniforms to them. If you are interested in sponsoring, it is just $25 a year and this money will allow a child to get an education. Checks can be made to "Save Them One By One." Please contact Kelsey, Diane, or Mickey Thomas if you are interested or have questions. The Old Time Gospel Conference for Senior Adults Cost: $179 for Conference and room for 2 nights Concerts By: David Phelps, Squire Parsons, The Blackwood Brothers, The Dixie Melody Boys, and the Collingsworth Family. COMMISSIONING TO MISSION QUESTIONS OF COMMITMENT Do you believe in your heart that God has called you to serve in Nickelsville? Mission Team: We do. Are you willing to take these new responsibilities in service for Christ? Mission Team: We are willing. Will you seek to share with those around you, through service, the good news that in Jesus Christ there is reconciliation with God, forgiveness of sins, and power for righteous and holy living as children of God? Mission Team: God being our helper, we will. CHARGE TO CONGREGATION You have heard the nature of the work to which they have been called and their readiness to respond to this call. They are part of you and as they go, you will be going with them. As they assume this responsible position, they need the assurance of your participation by support and prayer so they can go forth with a real sense of joy and encouragement. Congregation: We have heard your commitment and we thank God for your obedience to this call to service. Through the calling of God s Spirit and the commissioning of the church, the servants of Christ are scattered throughout the world. ACT OF COMMISSIONING We accept your service in location as an extension of the ministry of this congregation, and pledge our support and prayers that your ministry may be effective. May the Lord watch over us and the Holy Spirit guide us while we are absent one from another. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and his church, and on behalf of the Southwest Virginia Partnership, we commission you to this service in Nickelsville. May God bless you, and make you a blessing. Amen. PRAYER OF DEDICATION AND CONSECRATION
