The menu for e meal on November 27 will be Chicken Ala King over Rice. Keep Travelin East. W Earl Dennis Junior Warden FROM THE EDITOR Breren, I apologize for not issuing a Trestle Board for September. My computer stopped working on August 6. I did not get it back until st September 21. Hopefully, is will not happen again any time soon. W Robert W Davis, KYCH THINGS YOU DIDN T KNOW YOU DIDN T KNOW Only two people signed e Declaration of Independence on July 4, John Hancock and Charles Thomson. Most of e rest signed on August 2, but e last signature wasn't added until 5 years later. FROM THE WEST Breren, It is very easy to become accustomed to our surroundings when attending Lodge meetings. The symbolism is all around us, but how often do we stop and ink about what we see? At every meeting we see e ree lesser lights at were explained in our Entered Apprentice Degree. During our Fellow Craft Degree we were encouraged to be lovers of e arts and sciences as well as geometry. If you look closely, you will notice at e Lesser Lights are arranged in a triangular pattern which is specifically a Right Triangle. If you have time, or remember your high school geometry, please look up e 47 problem of Euclid and how it relates to freemasonry. I ink at you will find at it is a very interesting topic. There are numerous symbolic references at can be drawn but one at I found interesting is is. The right triangle and Euclid s exposés on it are often used to symbolize humanity. Wi e ree great lights, including e Holy Scripture being dominant, it is easy to see at e Lesser Lights are important, but subject to e Great Lights. I encourage you to do an internet search of ese topics, and guarantee at you will find em interesting. Tom McGovern Senior Warden

It is of no intrinsic wor, not a bond, not a check or receipt for valuables, yet it is my most priceless possession. It is my membership in e Masonic Lodge. It tells me at I have entered into a spiritual kinship wi my fellow Masons to practice charity in word and deed; to forgive and forget e faults of my breren; to hush e tongues of scandal and innuendo; to care for e crippled, e hungry, and e sick, and to be fair and just to all mankind. It tells me at no matter where I may travel in e world, I am welcome to visit a place where good fellowship prevails among broers and friends. It tells me my loved ones, my home, and my household are under e protection of every member of is great Fraternity, who have sworn to protect mine, as I have sworn to protect and defend eirs. It tells me at should I ever be overtaken by adversity or misfortune rough no fault of my own, e hands of every Mason on e face of e ear will be stretched for to assist me in my necessities. And finally it tells me at when my final exit from e stage of life has been made, ere will be gaered around my lifeless body friends and broers who will recall to mind my virtues, ough ey may be few, and will forget my faults, ough ey may be many. It tells me at and a great deal more, is little card, and makes me proud, yet humble, at I can posses is passport into a society of friends and broers at are numbered in e millions. (Knight Templar Magazine) My Broer, you do make a difference! You and your Broers of Palmetto Lodge are a part of a fraternal family at gives over two million dollars a day, every day of e year, to charitable causes in is State and Country.
