Mission Trip: Quito, Los Penas and El Rompido, Ecuador Submitted by Teresa Moody We arrived in Quito, Ecuador and traveled to Los Penas, where we lodged a few miles from El Rompido. The Beta Ecuador Cinco Team consisted of Robert and Linda Taylor, Larry Smith, myself, and our interpretar, Lizeth Freire. Lizeth lives in Quito and has worked with International World Changers for five years. We were one big happy family, Ma & Pop Taylor, big brother Larry, and baby sis Liz. Each morning we started with devotion and prayer to prepare us for our day. When it was my day to lead devotion the topic was, Praying with Impact. This was confirmation I was exactly where God wanted me. I shared my personal testimony that morning. It all started with a simple prayer, on New Year s Eve 2014. I asked for three specific things to happen in 2015. God answered all three of them: (1) To be able to go on an International Mission Trip ( I WANTED TO GO TO AFRICA!), (2) funds for the trip and (3) A request not actually related to Missions, but it was granted, praise God. I remembered my prayers, trusted God, signed the commitment sheet to El Rompido, Ecuador, and went on about my daily life. Although we went to evangelize others, we also ministered to each other. We laughed, cried, and encouraged each other. We also drew strength from knowing others were at home praying for us too. We shared the Creation to Christ with everyone we met. Over 50 people heard and 31 gave their lives to Christ. Also through evangelizing an additional 10 persons accepted Christ, and another 21 gave their lives to Christ after viewing The Jesus Movie. We only baptized one but plenty of seeds were planted. We shared Bible stories, the children sang songs and completed craft projects. I thank God for the opportunity of spreading the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for putting together the Beta Ecuador Cinco Team. I would like to encourage others to get involved with Mission Work. This was my Maiden Mission but not my last. Hearing their testimonies and experiences encouraged me. While in Ecuador I knew the Lord was with us, and when I returned I felt the presence of the Lord all around me. I get it now. I was truly touched by the events that transpired before, during, and after our mission trip. The Voice The Gift of Music Submitted by Darlene Price Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals, Psalm 150:3-5 KJV. The Psalm makes it clear that musical instruments are to be an integral part of how we praise God. Google music in the Bible, and you will find a wealth of information on the significance of music in worship. For instance, did you know that 24 choral groups consisting of 288 musicians playing over 20 types of instruments perform in 21 weekly services in King Solomon's Temple, or that the originator of musical instruments was a descendant of Cain named Jubal (think jubilee), or that the word psalm in Hebrew means to play instrumental music and to sing to musical accompaniment? Just as God gave musical skill to the Israelites, He has also endowed many of us. As the Psalmist commanded the Israelites to lift up their instruments in praise to God thousands of years ago, he is speaking the same message today. Like the Israelites who answered the call and praised God with their musical talents, those of us who have been blessed with musical skill should do the same. During this season of gift giving, consider gifting your musical talent in service to the Lord by joining the orchestra. Do you have an instrument around the house no one is using? Donate it to the orchestra. Your donation could encourage someone who wants to play but cannot afford to purchase an instrument to use their talent to the glory of God. If you would like to join the orchestra, rehearsals are held on Saturdays from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Have an instrument to donate? Bring it to the church or see a member of the orchestra. Remember, the LORD inhabits the (musical) praises of the saints! The following individuals were fellowshipped into the Broadview family during the month of November. Please make them feel welcome, watch over them in the spirit of brotherly love, and encourage them to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Saki S. Believe: What Do I Believe? Submitted by Eliza Edwards Yes, I believe with all my heart that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three persons in one. I believe it was God s love that found me. That is why I love God because God knew I was lost in my sins. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for me, but it did not stop at the cross. Jesus was buried in a tomb. The third day the Holy Spirit raised Jesus up from that tomb. When I excepted Jesus as my personal Savior, the Holy Spirit came to live in my heart to help me do the right thing, teaching me to love others, and to guide me into all truth as I study God s Word. I do believe and know that God has changed my life. I also have direction for my life. I have learned what true love is all about, and who gives that true love. I believe God is the answer for this world. Ask God to come into your heart. God is waiting for you because God loves you. Coming Soon to BMBC War Room the Movie...
