September 13, 2012 WELCOME THE WEAVER BELIEVER FAMILY BAND THIS SUNDAY IN OUR MORNING SERVICES!!! The WEAVER BELIEVER SURVIVAL REVIVAL family band sings and plays in a unique mixture of bluegrass, southern gospel and country music. This has been helpful in bridging the gaps between all three different genres. Their banjos, guitars, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass and acoustic bass instruments allow them to move in the different circles with a high energy, fast tempo, toe tapping type of sound. With their tight harmony and one of a kind family group, it's sure to be a performance not easily forgotten. The Weaver Family travels all over the country ministering in churches and other venues. Over the past 10 years of their music career, the children's youthful appeal has turned into genuine talent, with several national awards to their credit ~ continually receiving return invitations wherever they go. Having been playfully called "the modern day Partridge Family" or the "von Trapps of southern gospel/bluegrass/country music," they continue to enjoy traveling and spending quality time together encouraging audiences of all ages by "Spreading God's Word ~ Family Style."

Mexican Fiesta Sunday! This Sunday, the 16 th, there will be a Fellowship Supper after the 10:45 service. The theme for the meal will be a Mexican Fiesta. The food will be supplied by the Membership Team. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert or drinks. Sarah Dills will be here from 12:30 to 4:30 so members of the congregation can select the picture they would like for the church directory. Anyone who is unable to have their picture made for the church directory may submit a photo to the church office and we will include it in the church directory. Please submit photos by the end of the month! THIS SUNDAY IS NATIONAL BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY!!! Let s all play our part by 1) coming to church this Sunday!; 2) reaching out to invite friends or family BACK to church who may not have attended recently; and, 3) stopping along the way this week to invite a neighbor or stranger to church this Sunday. Did you know that 82% of the unchurched are more likely to attend if extended a personal invitation? DRCC Congregational Hymn Survey! For the next 3 Sundays, members and visitors of DRCC will find a hymn survey sheet in their bulletin. We ask that each of you take a moment to fill out this survey. We want to have a better idea of the hymns that you find meaningful to your weekly worship experience. Feel free to use the front and back of the survey to list your favorite hymns. Please place your completed survey sheet in the basket located on the table in the back of the sanctuary..scrapping for a Cure, Saturday, Sept. 22 nd! Come support the Trilogy Team in their efforts to fundraise for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation! On Sept. 22 nd from 8-4:30 in the Fellowship Hall there will be a scrapbooking event. There are still spaces on the sign-up sheet for the mission trip to St. Louis. Volunteers will be going the week of Dec. 30 th -Jan. 5 th. The cost will be $250 per person which includes transportation, food, and accommodations. The group will be staying at the Union Ave. Christian Church in inner-city St. Louis. See Pastor Bob for more information.

DRCC ON FACEBOOK! Dry Ridge Christian Church is on Facebook at Facebook.com/dryridgechristian. Make us more visible by going to our page and Like us. HELPING OUT HELPING HANDS! It seems Helping Hands is always in need of volunteers. On the one hand, we have some of the best volunteers ever. On the other hand we need more than ever. We have about 19 people who serve us well during the course of a week. This does not count our occasional help, like people who help us on food distribution day only. To staff the Thrift store and sort clothes and other donated items takes a lot of manpower. It is amazing how much we sort through in one week. Please prayerfully consider giving some time to help Helping Hands. Just call or drop by to volunteer. The thrift store is open Tuesday through Saturday. The free store is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00am to 1:00pm. NEXT ELDERS MEETING SUNDAY, OCT. 7---2 P.M. Brown Bag Mondays The Brown Bag bunch meets each Monday for lunch and conversation. We meet at noon and discuss the previous Sunday s message. So, bring a sack lunch and join in! AA Meeting every Wednesday 10 a.m. in the Board Room at Dry Ridge Christian Church. 116 News Pastor Josh continues with his sermon series Not of This World. This series of messages is about how Jesus wants us to live differently in this world. Come and learn how Christ wants us to be set apart from the world around us.

Youth News Our Youth Group, AMPED, meets each Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. here at the church. They will not be meeting on Sept. 26 th, Oct. 17 th, and Oct. 31 st. The Youth event, YOLO, will be on Sept. 22 nd at the N.KY. (Grant Co.) Fairgrounds from 6-8 p.m. See Pastor Josh for more information. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! NEW BEGINNINGS SERMON SERIES CONTINUES! This Sunday, September 16 TH, Pastor Bob will continue the New Beginnings sermon series with a focus on Community. Last week we explored the story of Abraham and his response to God s call for his life. We have that same call from God! God wants our response to be just as faithful as Abraham s was. This week we move to Community, looking at the trials and tribulations of life as a community of God s chosen people. God never promised His people a rose garden, or a Garden of Eden. Paradise is what we make of our life on earth with God, with each other, in a community of believers. As we move through this life together, the one constant has been, is today, and will continue to be: God with us! That is our New Beginning today! September 16: Community September 23: Congregation September 30: CHRIST! SEE YA THIS SUNDAY IN CHURCH! This Sunday Pastor Bob will continue his sermon series New Beginnings focusing on Community. Pastor Josh will be continuing his sermon series, Not of This World in Sunday evening s 116 Service at 6:30pm. The Maestro Tom Teater will be directing and leading the musical sounds of the holy and sacred in our morning services!!! The Weaver Family a bluegrass Christian family band will join us and perform in the morning services. Our 116 Praise Band will bring the vibes and the love as they yield to the Spirit in the 6:30pm service! And Yes! we will join our hearts together as one as we worship our God and our Lord this Sunday at Dry Ridge Christian Church!
