We generally meet monthly. The members for this program year are Ken Ross, Dan Cummings, Lisa Merchant, Scott Stacey, Debra Andrews, and me (Carl Chatto) as the committee convener/chair. Our goals this year include working with the Church Council Baptisms Scheduled The sacrament of baptism will next be offered November 11. Baptism is appropriate at any age. There may be a few minor changes, but it is very close to final. Be sure to check out the new "Best of Both Worlds" camp for middle school youth which starts at Horton as the Senior Pastor search committee begins its work, working with Diane Harvey as our transitional pastor, and working with John McCall as he and the congregation plan for his retirement. If you have questions, thoughts, or concerns please don't hesitate to talk to any of the committee members. A long-time dream is finally a reality in the new display of the photos of fourteen of our pastors over the last century. The project was made possible by gifts in memory of Robert Bob Foster. The original collection of pictures remains in the Davidson Lounge. They re different sizes and styles but all in deteriorating condition. With the completion of this project visitors to correct rooms; bring Prayers of the People to the pulpit, and assist the minister after the service in the narthex. This year we will be providing Thanksgiving baskets to 30 families in our area. Please remember to share your blessings by bringing your donation of non-perishable food to the church service on Sunday, November 18th. Recommended items include Holly Daze Bazaar 2012 Saturday November 17, 9 a.m. 2 p.m. The Bazaar chairpersons need your help. The folks listed below would love to hear from you. Always in demand are knitted items, baked goods, (especially smaller pies and loaves, fewer cookies and cupcakes per package are popular.) Donate gift items, books and jewelry. As a reminder, please take a moment to attach this list to your memo board or refrigerator. Together, we can make the Bazaar an outstanding success again. Thank you. Mission Mall November 17 2012 This is the Mission Mall s seventh year with the Bazaar. They will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Wright Pavilion. This is how it works: The Mall showcases several different charities. Shoppers make donations, cash or check, to the charity of choice in the name of a loved one. An attractive gift card is then issued the donor for the recipient. The card contains all necessary information about the charity, ensuring that your loved ones know that these gifts are for the betterment of others. Honor someone in your life by making a contribution to one of the many fine causes represented in The Mission Mall at The Holly Daze Bazaar. FAIR TRADE COFFEE By way of reminder, November 4th and 11th will be the last opportunity to order coffee & tea for this year. With order distribution scheduled for December 2nd, you will have time to order some for Christmas giving, perhaps filling a basket (from the Rummage Sale of course) with a selection of coffee & tea. You will need to plan ahead as we will not be selling Fair Trade products at the Bazaar this year. Incidentally, we are losing two of our key committee members. If you think this is something in which you might have an interest, please contact one of our committee members: Laurie Cary, Lisa Merchant, Dolores Broberg or Carol Scheffler at fairtrade@fccucc.org.
