Our Holy Land Journey... October 2 Our Journey begins... We depart from Richmond VA at 7:15 am on board our Continental connection to Newark. Our international flight on El Al Airlines will depart from Newark at 1:30 PM. October 3 Our First Day in the Holy Land We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv around 6:00 AM. Our day begins with a visit to Israel's Independence Hall in Tel Aviv where we will learn about the rebirth of the Nation of Israel. Our day will also include visits to Rabin Square and the ancient port city of Jaffa. We will end our day at the Seasons Hotel in Netanya along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. October 4 The Mediterranean Coast & Carmel Mountains Today we begin at Caesarea Maritime where Peter first preached the Good News to the House of Cornelius. After a brief visit to the ancient Roman Aqueducts we will continue up the coast and into the Carmel Mountain range to Muchraka, the burnt place. Here atop Mt. Carmel we will remember the fiery showdown between Elijah and false prophets. We will then descend into the Valley of Armageddon and make our way to Tel Megiddo. After a view of Nazareth from Mount Precipice we will finish end our day at the Leonardo Hotel in Tiberias beside the Galilee. October 5 The Golan Heights This day begins with a journey to the northern most borders of Israel where we will spend the day in the Golan Heights. We begin at Tel Dan nature reserve for a beautiful nature walk to the ancient site of Dan. Later we will visit Banias in the area of Caesarea Philippi and remember the "Good Confession" first spoken by the Apostle Peter. Then its up to Mount Bental for some coffee in the clouds and a view the Road to Damascus. We end our day again at the Leonardo Club Hotel. October 8 The Day of Atonement Yom Kippur Today is a High Sabbath so we will relax and prayerfully enjoy our day at the hotel. This is a great time for prayer and mediation. October 9 The Old City of Jerusalem We begin with our day with "aliyah", our going up to Jerusalem. Before entering the city we will have a time of reflection and prayer at the grave of Oscar Schindler. Just outside the Old City walls we will visit the traditional tomb of King David and nearby the Upper Room. Then we enter His Gates with thanksgiving as we pass through the Zion Gate into the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. The rest of our day we will be inside the city visiting the Wohl Museum and the Temple Institute. After lunch we will make our way to the "Kotel" better known as the Western Wall for a time of prayer. Our day concludes on the southern steps of the Temple Mount. We then make our way to the Crown Plaza Hotel for our first of three nights in Jerusalem. October 10 The New City This morning we tour the Temple Mount where Solomon first erected the House of the LORD. Before leaving the Old City we will stop at the Pools of Bethesda and then make our way out via the Lions Gate. The rest of our day is in the new modern city of Jerusalem with visits to the Israel Museum where we will view the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Shrine of the Book as well as the amazing model of Jerusalem. We will return to the city after dinner for a tour of the Rabbis Tunnel. October 11 Yom Yahshua...Jesus Day Our path today follows the steps of Jesus in the days leading up to His death, burial and resurrection. We start atop the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the Old City. After a time of instruction in the Word we will follow the Palm Sunday path to the base of the mountain and the Garden of Gethsemane. From the garden we make our way to St. Peter Galicantu or the House of Caiaphas to remember the suffering of our Lord on the night He was betrayed. Lunch will be in the Old City and after a time of shopping we will make our final stop at the Garden Tomb to celebrate the Risen King of Kings. We conclude our time in the land with a farewell dinner in Abu Gosh before transferring to the airport for our El Al 027 departure at 12:30 AM. October 6 The Galilee and Ministry of Yahshua Our day will focus on the Galilean ministry of Yahshua (Jesus) as we take time to visit the ancient fishing village of Capernaum and sit on the slopes of the Mount of Beatitudes reading and remembering the Words of the Master and view a 2000 year old fishing boat. We will then take time at the Jordan River where those who desire may be immersed. The highlight of our day will be a cruise on the Sea of Galilee where we October 12 Home Again...Changed Forever! will sing and worship and dance together. We arrive in Newark at 6:40am. Departing Newark on Continental at 8:00am we will arrive in Richmond VA at 9:30 am. October 7 The Dead Sea We depart early to make our way down the Jordan Valley. We then continue down the WWW.NEWCOVENANTTOURS.COM valley to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947 and then on to En Gedi where David hid from King Saul in the cave. We will then ride the cable car to the top of Masada the mountain fortress of King Herod. We arrive in evening at the LeMeridien Hotel beside the Dead Sea as the sun sets and Yom Kippur begins.
