1. Once in Royal. Verse 1: SOLO: Once in royal David s city. He came down to earth from heaven, Who is God and Lord of all, And His shelter was a stable, And His cradle was a stall: With the poor, and mean, and lowly, Lived on earth our Saviour holy. For He is our childhood's pattern; Day by day, like us, He grew; He was little, weak, and helpless, Tears and smiles, like us He knew; And He cares when we are sad, And he shares when we are glad. And our eyes at last shall see Him, Through His own redeeming love; For that Child so dear and gentle, Is our Lord in heaven above: And He leads His children on, To the place where He is gone.

While shepherds watched Their flocks by night All seated on the ground The angel of the Lord came down And glory shone around Whilst shepherds v4 has been left out "Fear not," he said, For mighty dread Had seized their troubled minds "Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind, "To you in David's Town this day Is born of David's line The Saviour who is Christ the Lord And this shall be the sign "The heavenly Babe You there shall find To human view displayed And meanly wrapped In swathing bands And in a manger laid "All glory be to God on high And to the earth be peace; Goodwill henceforth From heaven to men Begin and never cease
Good King Wenceslas looked out On the feast of Stephen When the snow lay round about Deep and crisp and even Brightly shone the moon that night Though the frost was cruel When a poor man came in sight Gath'ring winter fuel "Bring me flesh and bring me wine Bring me pine logs hither Thou and I will see him dine When we bear him thither." Page and monarch forth they went Forth they went together Through the rude wind's wild lament And the bitter weather "Sire, the night is darker now And the wind blows stronger Fails my heart, I know not how, I can go no longer." "Mark my footsteps, my good page Tread thou in them boldly Thou shalt find the winter's rage Freeze thy blood less coldly." In his master's steps he trod Where the snow lay dinted Heat was in the very sod Which the Saint had printed Therefore, Christian men, be sure Wealth or rank possessing Ye who now will bless the poor Shall yourselves find blessing Good King Wenceslas (v2 has been left out)

Little Red Bird Verse 1 You see that little red bird up there, far up in that tree? He knows all the bird songs and he moves so fast and free! He flies with so much grace as he goes soaring through the sky! I want to be that little red bird, right up there so high!
Verse 2 Now, I've been trying to fly for a long, long time. I've been trying to learn the bird songs but I just don't know the rhymes. I'll clear my little throat and I'll get ready to take flight, But still no airborne song comes out, day or night.
Verse 3 See, little red bird he read my thoughts and came down from the clouds. He landed by my shoulder and he sat me on the ground. He looked into my eyes as he tilted up my head. And these are the words he said.
Little Red Bird Hey Mister! Do you think I learnt to fly in just one day? Hey Mister! Do you think I learnt the bird songs right away? Now I d been trying to fly for a long, long time, I d been trying to learn the bird songs but I just didn t know the rhymes. But then I knew what I had to do was just take a chance; A leap of faith from the nest, and to the tallest branch. So I said goodbye to my friends and I packed my little bag. I sang my song, flapped my wings and I never looked back.
Verse 4 I nodded to that little red bird as he flew away. I understood what I had to do, had to chance it on that day. As I fluffed up my feathers, cleared my throat and packed my bag, The wise words of that little red bird just kept coming back: (Back to the chorus)
CHORUS Verse 5 (slower, held chords) Now one day I was soaring high and flying round and round I saw someone in need who was just sitting on the ground I landed on his shoulder and I tilted up his head, These are the words I said. (Back to tempo) CHORUS SUPER LOUD!! Fill the cathedral
