The Burnt Offering was prepared in a way that allowed for the insides of the animal to be washed with water. This represents us, being washed with the water of God s Word, so that we can be offered up to Yahweh as a sweet smelling sacrifice. This means, that we need to constantly fill our minds with God s Word, and that we need to be good listeners to God, so that we will show forth His will in our actions and words. If we dedicate ourselves to God in this way, then through His mercy, we get able to be in God s Kingdom. 38) Where are the instructions for this offering found? Bible mark this. 1 Kings 19:14-18 Yahweh Strengthens Elijah 62) Elijah was to anoint 3 people to specific jobs. Who were these people and what were their jobs? Elisha s ministry was about salvation, compassion & instruction. he was able to use the sword of the spirit (god's word) in order to slay the wicked ones in his day. elisha had no need to slay anyone because jehu was to totally destroy the house of ahab himself. 63) How many people were left in Israel who did not serve Baal? Elijah was strengthened knowing that there was still a faithful remnant. These were people who trusted in the Lord God of Israel. Throughout the Bible, we see that despite how sinful the children of Israel were, there was always a small group of believers. We should be strengthened in the knowledge that in the end times, there will once again be a faithful remnant who will recognize the Lord Jesus Christ when he returns. 1 Kings 19:19-21 The Call of Elisha 64) Why did Elijah cast his mantle on Elisha? Remember when Elijah used 12 stones to build the altar on Mt. Carmel? He chose 12 to represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Elisha plowing with 12 yoke of oxen is similar. It represents his attempt at bringing the people of Israel back to God. Page 22 Little Disciples Gathering Grades 4-7 Question Pages

Elijah is sharing a final meal with his family before leaving them. Slaying the oxen and boiling their flesh represents a burnt offering. This is an outward display of him leaving behind that life and dedicating himself to Yahweh. 65) 66) What does ministered unto him mean? Where else do we find people ministering unto someone?
