Under the mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we grow as a people of God following Jesus, celebrating the Eucharist, living apostolic service, continuing faith formation and Marian devotions. We strive to bring the joy of the gospel and imitate Jesus through compassion, mercy and love, especially for the poor and marginalized. We seek to be faithful stewards providing a heart and home for all.

This miracle is not from their power to do so, but it is from God who is giving that miracle through them. The church calls it their intercession to the Most High God for the living who ask for their prayer. Their purity of souls and life make them worthy to receive the grace enabling them to intercede to God in behalf of the request/prayer of the living who are still struggling for holiness here on earth. Elisha in our first reading this Sunday is a concrete example of a worthy person to intercede on behalf of the needs of the living. Elisha promised, [to the woman] This time next year you will be fondling a baby son (2 Kgs 4: 16). The Peter's Pence Collection has ancient Christian roots, linking back to the New Testament times when people would provide material support to those preaching the Gospel to distribute to those in need (see Acts 4:3435, 11:29). Today the collection is the way we as members of the Catholic Church unite ourselves to the concerns of the Holy Father. Donations to this collection support the charitable works of Pope Francis for the assistance of those most in need. How Pope Francis Invites Us to Make the World Less Cold and More Just In his 2016 Urbi et Orbi address, Pope Francis reminds us, "The Lord... enables us to see with his eyes of love and compassion those who hunger and thirst, strangers and prisoners, the marginalized and the Outcast, the victims of oppression and violence. By opening our eyes to the suffering and injustice in the world, we can open our hearts to the call of Pope Francis that "efforts be made everywhere to promote the culture of encounter, justice and reciprocal respect, which alone can guarantee the spiritual and material welfare of all people." How You Can Help PRAY Pray for the Holy Father as he reaches out compassionately to make the world less cold and more just, and for those around the world who are suffering and will benefit from this collection. SHARE As a way to spread the message of mercy and peace, share this flier with someone who might be interested and tell others how Pope Francis supports the marginalized. GIVE Please give generously to this collection, as a witness of charity, and give hope to those who suffer around the globe. Please, Come to Church Dressed Appropriately! To be modestly and tastefully dressed is a sign of respect for God, for our selves, and for others. It s a false assumption that God does not care how we dress. Jesus told us, Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it to me. If our attire is indecently provocative (short shorts, strapless, backless, spaghetti strap dresses/tops, or displaying cleavage), displaying unwholesome graphics (skulls, advertisements, scantly clad people) or tattered, it becomes offensive to our brothers and sisters who are worshipping the Lord and therefore offensive to God s Majesty. Ask this question: Would you dress this way before God? You are! He sees everything and you are in His house.
