Spiritual Blessings In Christ 2

Introduction 3

Eph. 1:3 4 [3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

5 Blessed Let God be well spoken of; glorify and praise God All spiritual blessings ALL there are no spiritual blessings outside of Christ

6 Heavenly places Everythi g God has said or done in connection with the scheme of redemption is summed up in the church. (Roy J. Hearn)

7 Some Of The Spiritual Blessings In Christ

Redemption 8 Redemption deliverance from bondage and consequences of sin Eph. 1:7 [7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

Before gospel obedience we were servants of sin Rom. 6:17-18 [17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. [18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 9

Redeemed by blood 10 1 Pet. 1:18-19 [18] Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Forgiveness 11 Forgiveness pardon; cleansed; held guiltless i God s i d

Heb. 10:22 12 [22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water

Inheritance 13 Inheritance something passed on to heirs Eph. 1:11 [11] In whom also we have obtained an inheritance

Rom. 8:16-17 14 [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. [18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Reserved in heaven 15 1 Pet. 1:4 [4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Reconciliation 16 Reconciliation to cause to be friendly again; to bring back harmony Eph. 2:16 [16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

2 Cor. 5:18-20 17 [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

18 [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Access We approach The Father through Christ Eph. 2:18 [18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father 19

1 Tim. 2:5 20 [5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Heb. 4:15-16 21 [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Citizenship privileges and 22 blessings of the kingdom The duties, rights & privileges of a citize.

Eph. 2:19 23 [19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Phil. 3:20 24 20 For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: (ASV)

Providential care 25 Mt. 6:33 [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Heb. 13:5-6 26 5 Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. 6 So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me? (ASV)

Conclusion 27 Receiving these wonderful blessings is conditional

Mt. 11:28-30 28 [28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

29 All spiritual blessings are in Christ! How do we get into Christ so that we can have these great blessings?

Gal. 3:27 30 [27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ

Rom. 6:3-4 31 [3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Mt. 7:21-23 32 [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

33 [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2 Thess. 1:7-8 34 [8] In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
