Col. in the U.S. Air Force, graduated UC Berkeley, and attended MIT, University of Arkansas and UT Austin. He was also a history teacher and lawyer. Bill was the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. In the sixty years of her marriage, Betty and Bill lived in many places but spent the last forty years in Austin. She loved to cook and was a homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was even grandmother to the neighborhood children. She spent several years as a mentor at Walnut Creek Elementary School. She spent many years in the Walnut Creek Garden Club.
