offer you bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1b). As we gather for worship we give ourselves to the One who gave himself for us. May God bless you this morning and may you bless him with worship that is sincere and genuine in the power of the Holy Spirit. This morning Pastor Michael will conclude his series on the 5 Solas with Soli Deo Gloria to God Alone Be the Glory using Romans 6:15-23. In addition, in a very fitting end to this series, we will also have the privilege of coming to Lord s Table to receive Christ s righteousness by grace through faith in the bread and juice. All who are sorry for their sins and acknowledge that their hope and assurance rests in Christ alone are welcome to participate. Pastor Michael s sermon discussion class meet in the Fireside Room after the service. All are welcome to our final conversation on the 5 solas! Next week, we will welcome Mrs. Carol Veldman-Rudie to our pulpit. Carol is a licensed exhorter in Classis Lake Superior and part of the denominational Connections Project. Please make her feel welcome. Pastor Michael will be out of the office Wednesday Saturday of this week to attend the Board of Trustees Meeting at Dordt College. If you have a pastoral need please contact your Shepherding Group Elder or Deacon. Following the worship service next Sunday, the 15 th, there will be a congregational meeting to discuss and vote on the new position of Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship that the Council has recently endorsed. That job description is in your mailboxes this morning. If you are unable to attend that meeting you are welcome to submit an absentee ballot which will be available in the church office. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to any member of the search team (Kevin Koppendrayer, Carol Van Someren, Damian Patnode, Trudy Ash, Dylan Moorlag, or Pastor Michael). Your offering next Sunday, October 15, will be received for the Building Fund, October 22, GAP (Guatemala) and October 29 for the Food Resource Bank. Thank you for your gifts offered last week, October 1. The General Fund total was $6,627. The offering for the Community Christian School was $962.

Our Church Family Congratulations to Harlin Hanenburg who will observe his 81st birthday on Wednesday, October 11. Belated anniversary wishes to Marlin & Ann Ege who celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on October 1. We express our sympathy to Sandy Meixell and her family in the death of Sandy s brother, Basil Kostanchek. Basil passed away last week following a long illness. We rejoice that Joyce Kiel is back home and recovering after having a stent placed in one of her arteries last week. Please be in prayer for Harlin Hanenburg as he undergoes treatment for bladder cancer tomorrow. Please continue to be in prayer for Paul Peterson s Dad, Jerry, as he remains in the hospital in Alaska with several health issues. He is improving, for which we give thanks to God. Thank you to all who remembered us in the passing of Bob's sister, Darlene Rubingh. Your prayers, phone calls, and cards were appreciated. Bob and Shirley Geurkink SNL tonight at 4:00! A reminder that Kids Club will not be meeting tonight, but GEMS, Cadets, and Pastor Michael s class will all be happening. See you there! Parents of Cadets, Just a reminder that your Cadet brought home 2 items the evening of Sunday, September 24: 1) Application for membership (please sign and return with him tonight), 2) a promotional card for him to share with another boy who may not have a spiritually-grounding boys organization in his life. Please share the good news of what our Pease Cadet Club has to offer with your neighbor. Thank you. Please pray for your council as they will meet tomorrow night.
