This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. With this feast we celebrate the final week of the liturgical year as we prepare to enter into the season of Advent next weekend. With this celebrate, we will hear the final judgment and the end times in which, as we recite in the Creed each week, Jesus will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. But it is not meant for us to live in fear, rather to live in hope and to support one another, to be good and faithful members of the body of Christ, the church. As we prepare to begin the celebration of the Advent season next weekend, think about the things we can do to truly make the season a time of preparation for ourselves in a spiritual way. Attend daily Mass? Spend some quiet time before the Blessed Sacrament? Attend a Scripture Study session? Go on a retreat? Go to confession? Pray the rosary? There are lots of ways to take a few minutes out of the day, especially during this busy time of the year to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. It doesn t take much, just a willing heart and an open spirit. Sincerely in the Lord, Fr. Joe ST. MARY PARISH IS A PARISH THAT PRACTICES STEWARDSHIP SPIRITUAL REFLECTIONS ON STEWARDSHIP... whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers, you did for me. Matthew 25: 40 Most of us are generous when it s convenient for us. We are generous when we have the time or the money. But, generosity is the opposite of that. It means giving of one s time, money, compassion, forgiveness or mercy when it s not convenient; when it s not on our schedule, but on the other person s schedule.
