SURAH AL WAAQIAH 30 th May 2011 Surah Al Waaqiah (Ayah 20 32) Introduction In the previous Ayat, Allah talks about the inevitable event i.e. Day of Judgment, People will be lowered and exalted depending upon their Deen, faith and Taqwa, We need to ask Allah to make us amongst the saabiqun. Ayah 20 Here it is said that the fruits in Paradise will be totally different in names, tastes and looks. means fruit. This is from the word takafuh which means luxury and وو ف ك هھ ة enjoyment. In Paradise people will eat and drink just for enjoyment and not because of hunger. means To choose This Ayah explains that the dwellers of Paradise will يی ت خ يی ر وونن choose the fruit according to their wish. The fruits in Paradise will be different in taste and smell Ayah 21 means the flesh of birds.the people in Paradise will get whatever they وو ل ح م طط يی ر desire. This means if they want the meat roasted, or with gravy they will get it that way. 2
Ayah 22 &23 In this Ayah Allah tells us about beautiful eyes of the Hoor in Paradise. The Hoor in paradise are like preserved pearls. وو ح ورر.ع يین are created for the believers. We can imagine how the believing women will look like when she has been recreated and has entered paradise due to her prayer, fasting, good deeds etc. She will be like the queen over these creatures. Our emotions in Paradise will be different that of the Duniya as there will be no feelings of jealousy in Paradise. Ayah 24 reward. means ج ز ا آء This Ayah tells us that these are the rewards for what they used to do in Duniya. Our good deeds are a means to go to Allah, and we can only enter Paradise with Allah s mercy. Our aim should be to be the first one to do good deeds. Ayah 25-26 In this life the idle/vain talks is one of the biggest obstacle but in paradise there is nothing like that, Allah is telling us here that no one will speak or hear vain talk, hurtful words, hurtful laugh or sinful speech lie. means no one will backbite, no one will curse and no one will ت ا ث يیم ا The speech of the dwellers of Paradise will only be peace. The speech of those in Paradise is free of sinful talk and is filled with peace as Paradise is Dar us Salam. 3
SURAH AL WAAQIAH 30 th May 2011 Why will the people in Paradise only utter good? This is because as a person enters paradise, all sins will be removed from his heart. In life there are three purification stations: 1.Always ask for forgiveness 2.Do more good deeds (Amal As salih) 3.Any sickness, trials calamities (not in our hands). After death the punishment in grave, then standing in Akhirah, qantaraa (settling scores) our hearts will be purified and person will enter Paradise with clear heart. We should ask Allah to fix our hearts and to remove any hard feelings. Allah says that HE will laugh? At whom? Story of a disbeliever who will kill a believer, the believer will go to Paradise.the disbeliever will repent and later embrace Islam so Allah will forgive him so he will also enter Paradise! So In life there will be two men who will enter Jannah as Allah removes all hatred from their hearts. Ayah 27 & 28 Allah. means people on the right side of ٱٱل يی م يین ا أ ص ح ب Allah is telling us how fortunate is the reward of those who will be on the right hand side of Allah. What will they have in their gardens? means lote tree. The lote trees in Paradise will be thornless. All س د رر مخ ض ودد the thorns will be removed from the lote trees in Paradise and in place of thorns there will be fruit. 4
Ayah 29 and 30 means banana tree وو طط ل ح means with fruit piled one over the other in a most beautiful manner منض ودد ل means shade وو ظظ means long extended مم د وودد Ayah 31 In this Ayah Allah is telling us that there will be constant flowing water below the palaces in Paradise. ((When we make Dua three times to ask Allah for Jannah then Jannah makes a dua for us to enter it.)) Ayah 32 & 33 In this Ayah, Allah is telling us that there will be plenty of fruits in Paradise. The supply of fruits will never be over. It will never cut off. The fruits of Paradise will not be out of reach for its dwellers. The fruit will be on trees and it will come closer to the believer when he wishes to eat it. 5
SURAH AL WAAQIAH 30 th May 2011 Ayah 34 Now Allah talks about places of rest for the dwellers of Paradise. There will be couches or thrones that are raised from the best quality of silk. Ayah 35 & 36 In this Ayah Allah is telling us about the women in Paradise. The Prophet SAW narrated this Ayah to an old lady that no women will be old in Paradise. Allah will create the women in a new and special creation. means to recreate in a different creation which is perfect in looks, figure and ا إ نش ا ء even the behavior will be different. In Ayah 36 Allah tells us that the women created will be virgin all the time. Ayah 37 is used here to describe a lady who is a loving woman; her way of talking to ا أ ت ر ااب ا her husband will be beautiful, even her voice will be beautiful. It also means that all ladies in Paradise will have equal age, which will be 33. ا أ ت ر ااب ا is sand all equal size so the women will be of same age. When the women of Paradise moves from one place to another the place will be filled with her fragrance. 6
Ayah 38 Here Allah is telling us that there is happiness and Noor for the people on the right Ayah 39. Here Allah is telling us that the people of the right will be in great multitude from first generation and from the later ones of the ummah. Conclusion Whatever blessing we have in this Duniya should be a bridge to Akhirah. We need to always think of Paradise and if we do not do this then the result is that we will indulge in Duniya. We need to ask Allah to increase us in knowledge, in good deeds and faith. 7
