EASTER VIGIL HOSPITALITY: We have a tradition of offering hospitality after the Easter Vigil to everyone who attends the Vigil, especially those welcomed into the Church. Tenebrae: The distinctive and powerful ceremony of Tenebrae, on the eve prior to Holy Thursday, is the gradual extinguishing of candles and light while a series of readings and psalms is chanted or recited. Wed., April 12 at 7:30 pm at Holy Rosary Cathedral. Stations of the Cross: Meditate on the Stations of the Cross during Lent. Our recipient, Lutheran Social Services, a Feed Your Neighbor location, is included in this Lenten collection. We will resume our regular monthly collection May 21. Claver House: Collect an aluminum pan at 11 a.m. Mass on March 26th, fill it with a casserole and bring it back frozen on Sunday, April 2nd to be donated to Claver House. Lenten Care Bags: Help support local food pantries and shelters by collecting nonperishable food items and toiletries in a bag and bring it to the DeBenedetti Room no later than Palm Sunday, April 9th. Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the bags on April 10th. Looking to get involved in Walk for Water? We will be collecting plastic milk jugs to hold water in for the day of the race. Help Heartbeat of Toledo make a difference in the lives of Toledoarea moms and babies by participating in their Change for Life baby bottle campaign. Baby bottles are still available to pick up, take home, fill with your spare change. All bottles need to be returned to the box near the church entrance the weekend of April 1 & 2. Heartbeat is a life-affirming pregnancy center whose mission is to be the best source of information and support for women facing pregnanies and to help mothers, fathers, and babies in need. Heartbeat offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, options counseling, and prenatal and parenting classes. Christian Appalachian Workfest Project: On behalf of the seven UT Students and four adults that participated in the March 5-10, 2017 alternate spring break Workfest experience in Martin County, Kentucky, we extend a hardy THANK YOU to the parish for the tithe, and to all those who sponsored a student for the wonderful experience of service and community. John Henry Newman Scholarship: Applications are available on the table by the exit for any CSA student who wishes to apply for the John Henry Newman Scholarship. Requirements are printed on the application. Two $500.00 scholarships are available. Roger and Norma Weiher Scholarship: $500 for a UT senior who is a Catholic registered at Corpus Christi and has been accepted for graduate studies in any field. The major criteria are involvement in leadership roles on campus and community service. Veterinary Scholarship: $ 1,000 for a UT senior registered at Corpus Christi University Parish who is accepted for graduate studies in a veterinary school. Engineering/ Health Care Science Scholarship: Two $900.00 scholarships are available for a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor degree in Engineering or in Health Care Sciences. Newman Club for Graduate Students NEWMAN CLUB FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS HEALTH SCIENCE CAMPUS The Newman Club is designed specifically for graduate students at the University of Toledo who are seeking ways to practice their faith in the midst of their busy schedules. Graduate Student Dinner and Discussion Sunday Join other University of Toledo Graduate students for a free dinner and a discussion led by Father Phil Smith at Corpus Christi University Parish. The Light is On: Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 5, 2017 when the confessional lights will be on in parishes across the Diocese of Toledo for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Between the hours of 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on April 5th, the priests in local parishes will be available to hear confessions. This Lenten yearly practice is a means to encourage the Catholic faithful to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Light is On is a collective diocesan wide effort when confessions are scheduled at the same time, on the same day, in all our parishes.
