1. Objectives BA (Hons) Indian Philosophy (Full Time) GI321 The degree programme is designed to provide opportunities for a comprehensive study and understanding of Indian Philosophical concepts through analysis of primary texts and commentaries thereon. The course also aims at equipping students with knowledge of Sanskrit and pedagogical skills. Students will be exposed to Western Philosophical thought and will be able to relate philosophical problems to modern life. The course has been crafted to provide students with an avenue for further studies in Indian Philosophy, Western Philosophy and Sanskrit. 2. General Entry Requirements In accordance with the University General Entry Requirements for admission to undergraduate degree Programmes. 3. Programme Requirement Preference will be given to holders of an A Level in Hinduism or Equivalent. 4. Programme Duration Minimum: Maximum: 3 years 5 years 5. Minimum Required For Degree Award 108 Breakdown as follows: Core Modules Elective Dissertation Degree 96 3 9 6. Per Semester Minimum 9 credits, Maximum 24 credits subject to regulation 4 above. 7. Assessment Continuous and Written Assessment of Modules All modules will be assessed over 100 marks. Written Examination of 2-hour duration for all modules will be carried out at the end of the Semester, carrying 70% of the total marks. 1

Continuous Assessment will count for 30% of the overall percentage mark of the module(s), except for a Programme where the structure makes for other specific provision(s). Continuous Assessment will be based on assignment/s and should include at least one class test. An overall total of 40% for combined Continuous Assessment (CA) and Written Examination (WE) components would be required to pass the module, without minimum threshold within the individual CA and WE components. 8.
