What is the Youth Faith Formation Board? The Youth and Family Ministry Board and the Christian Education Board want to merge together to create the Youth Faith Formation Board to better serve the Youth of Faith Lutheran Church.
Why? Christian Education and Youth and Family Ministry noticed several areas of overlap between the two boards. Merging Youth and Family Ministry and Christian Education better serves the Youth by combining resources, talents, etc. to take a comprehensive approach to God s Children. We want to look at the spiritual, educational, and relational needs of the whole child.
Mission Statement: The Youth Faith Formation Board provides fun, inviting ways to nourish and educate God s Children, cultivating Leaders + Followers + Disciples all transformed by the LOVE of Christ.
Proposed Bylaws: The basic responsibilities of this board are: Planning the total education of the youth of the congregation through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation, and other programs as warranted; determining educational policies and procedures; recruiting, selecting and providing training opportunities of staff for the various educational programs; budgeting; ordering and maintaining educational materials for the various educational programs; overseeing the care of the educational classrooms and equipment; recruiting congregational assistance as needed. Proposed Bylaws cont d: A primary focus of this board involves the young people of the congregation in the work of Christ; providing for their spiritual growth and nurture; promoting the genuine Christian fellowship for the young people of the congregation; oversee the parish Youth and Family Minister's responsibilities and activities; recruiting congregational assistance as needed. It coordinates Mission Driven opportunities through programs and church sponsored missions and related trips. The board encourages Life Transforming opportunities through age specific youth groups, cross+generational events, and worship involvement. It also partners with families to equip and help cultivate faith in their home and understand the developmental, emotional, and spiritual milestones of children.

Budget The Congregation will receive the Youth Faith Formation Board s FY2016 budget proposal in November, should the Congregation approve the merger of the Youth and Family Ministry and Christian Education Boards.
But What About Adult Education? Adult Education will be splitting off and become a part of the Adult Faith Support and Enrichment Board, previously known as Lay Ministry.
First Year Goals: (2016-2017) Raise awareness of our programs through a marketing and educational campaign. Maintain all current Christian Education and Youth and Family Ministry programs. Implement a faith formation model. Recruit and equip leaders and volunteers. Create Long Range Goals
