Koko Head Lions and Hoku Chicken Another Successful Year Another year of a successful chicken sale day. This year was a far more wet and windy than we like for our tasty Hoku Chicken, but we had amazing help from our community. Our fellow lions from Hawaii Kai, Kaimuki, Pearl City and Manoa came out and worked hard. We also had support from the schools we love to support: Wilson Elementary and Aina Haina Elementary. Thank you all if it weren t for the support of our community we would have none of the success that we do. We also want to thank all of the students who came out to sign wave for Lion Roger (and a special thank you to the Dangs who have been helping at our chicken sale for longer than I ve been a lion). Our runners were a wee bit older than in years past, but they keep their footing on the wet ground and then got to enjoy the chicken and stew (made by Lion Stan). If I forgot to mention anyone we really appreciated your help and would like to thank you as well. Koko Head Helps out Hawaii Kai Lions It was a hot, sunny Saturday but Koko Head members Richard, Phil, Gavin and Mana (with a special guest membership of Richard s daughter Tracy) were out waving signs to collect money and food in support of the Hawaii Food Bank. Lion Peggy from Hawaii Kai did a fantastic job organizing the event and keeping us happy and hydrated as we worked hard to get the public to help out a much needed organization. 3 of 5 pages
