Welcome Home from the war: Vice Regal Sir William Fairlie Cunninghame, of Marengo, was a visitor to Sydney yesterday, having come to welcome his son, Lieut. H. B. Fairlie Cunninghame, and his wife, who arrived by the Wahehe. The following article is rather unnecessary in this military context, but is included as both of our Cunninghame s succeeded to this title. A Baronet's Death A SUCCESSOR N.S. WALES SQUATTER. SMH 2/7/19 P.11 The death is announced by cable of Sir A. E. Fairlie-Cunninghame, Bt. The successor to the title is Mr. W. E. Cunninghame, of Marenga, near Young, N.SW. Sir Alfred Edward Fairlie Cunninghame was the 12th baronet of the baronetcy of Cunninghame of Robertland, Ayrshire. He was born in 1852, and succeeded his brother in 1897. Sir William Edward Cunninghame, the 13th baronet, is a second cousin of the late baronet. He married in 1887 Georgina Maud, daughter of the late Mr. Edward Hardman Macartney, and there are seven children issue of the marriage. The family is descended from the Hon. William Cunninghame, and son of the first Earl of Glencairn. The first baronet, who was master of the works to King James VI of Scot land, was created a baronet with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever. At the death of the 4th baronet the title remained dormant until assumed by William Cunningham on being served heir in 1778 to his great-grandfather, Sir David Cunninghame, of Robertland, who was grandfather of the 1st baronet. Sir W. E. Cunninghame, who now succeeded to the title of baronet, is slightly over 50 years of age, and has owned the station property Windermere, in the district of Marengo, about 20 miles from Young, for many years. He has been a member of the shire council and pastures protection board from the beginning. He is a gentleman of most retiring habits, and is held in highest esteem in his own and neighboring districts, taking a lively interest in all matters of public concern. His assistance has always been available. He is most hospitable. Sir W. E. Cunninghame was never known to disclose his home connections. This succession will be a source of general congratulation. Baronet- Grazier Crushed To Death The Raleigh Sun (Bellingen) 25/11/1910 P.3 Manilla, Wednesday. - Sir Hussey Burgh Fairlie-Cuninghame, the 14th baronet of Robertland, Ayrshire, who for eight years had been a farmer in the Manilla district, was crushed to death yesterday when the tractor he was working overturned on the bank of a gully on his property at Keepit. When found a few minutes after the accident, he was still alive, but died shortly afterwards. Sir William Alan Fairlie-Cuninghame, who has succeeded to the title, is in charge of the preparatory section of St. John's Psychology School. Vaucluse. He proposes to continue his work.
The new Lady Fairlie-Cuninghame was formerly Irene Alice Terry. Heir to the baronetcy is their son, Henry, aged eight. A BARONET KILLED. In Motor Accident at Manilla. Barrier Miner 8/2/1939 P.2 Sir Hussey Fairlie-Cunninghame, fourteenth baronet of Robertsland, Ayrshire, who for 8 years has been a farmer in the Manilla district, was crushed to death when a tractor he was working overturned on the bank of a gully, on his property at Keepit.
