Member Profile Meet Sam and Yael Goldstein! Sam (aka Shmuel) and I originally moved to Baltimore as we needed to leave the hustle and bustle of NYC. I recently earned my doctorate degree in Audiology at Towson University and I am currently practicing at Chesapeake Ear Nose and Throat in Owings Mills. Sam manages a local wholesale distribution company called Shindler Foods. Sam and I are lucky to have chosen jobs that we LOVE! We joined NT five years ago (wow time flies!). I first heard about NT through my best friend, Lauren Schleifer, granddaughter of Dr. Frank Schuster A H, whom we referred to as Opa. Sam was introduced to NT through a good friend, Moshe Topas. After Sam attended the davening at NT for several weeks he encouraged me to come along. He knew I would love the Rabbi s weekly sermon. I had never gone to shul on a weekly basis prior to joining NT, so I was hesitant. I cannot recall the first person I met when I first went to NT but the families and Rabbi and Rebbetzin were all so inviting, so Sam and I kept coming back. We love the out of town feel that NT offers as it reminds us of our home towns (Sam is originally from the Lower East Side, NY and I grew up in Cleveland, OH). Knowing that we finally found a community shul that shared our similar religious values was imperative to us raising a family here in Baltimore. Sam and I have an incredible daughter, Gabby who is now three and a half (the half is very important to her!). Gabby LOVES coming to NT and attending groups with her friends. She will begin attending Ohr Chadash Academy in the fall and is so excited that many of her NT friends will be joining her! NT has become a home away from home for us. We have made lifelong friendships that we cherish. Having our family live so far away is challenging, and we are very lucky to have our NT family.
