Foewod All paise is due to Allāh, the Lod of the Wolds, and may the ṣalāt and salām be upon His Final Messenge. To poceed: I came acoss a poste in a mosque compising fifteen affais that help a peson to acquie izq (sustenance) and saw it to be beneficial. To benefit myself and othes, I tanslated it to publish in e-book fomat fo easy eading and distibution and to seve as a beneficial eminde, Allāhumma bāik. Abū ʿIyāḍ Amjad Rafīq 19th Rabīʿ al-thānī 1435H / 18th Febuay 2014CE www.salafiebooks.com 2
1. Seeking Fogiveness الاستغفار The evidence is His, the Most High's saying, citing the call of Nūḥ (alayhis salām) to his people: D C B A Ô Ó Ò Ñ Ð Ï Î O N M L K J I H G F E I said (to them): 'Ask fogiveness fom you Lod. Veily, He is Oft-Fogiving. He will send ain to you in abundance. And give you incease in wealth and childen and bestow on you gadens and bestow on you ives.' Nūḥ (71:10-12). Fom the fuits of seeking fogiveness ae the sending down of ain (which is a means though which sustenance is ceated and povided) and incease in wealth and childen have been connected with the seeking of fogiveness. www.salafiebooks.com 3
2. Repentance التوبة The evidence is His saying: ~ } { µ ³ ² ± «ª And (commanding you): "Seek the fogiveness of you Lod, and tun to Him in epentance that He may gant you good enjoyment fo a tem appointed and bestow His abounding gace to evey owne of gace. But if you tun away, then I fea fo you the toment of a geat day. Hūd (11:3). And also His saying upon the tongue of Dāwūd (ʿalayhis salām): Ë Ê É È Ç Æ Å Ä Ã Ô Ó Ò Ñ Ð Ï Î Í Ì "And O my people! Ask fogiveness of you Lod and then epent to Him, He will send you (fom the sky) abundant www.salafiebooks.com 4
ain, and add stength to you stength, so do not tun away as ciminals, wongdoes." Hūd (11:52). Fom the fuits of epentance ae good enjoyment in this wold, eceiving incease in bounty and excellence fom Allāh and sending of ain and povidence fom the sky. Repentance has a numbe of conditions fo it to be accepted and they ae: Acknowledging that sin has been committed Remose fo falling into the sin Resolving not to etun to the sin Rectifying any ham if it involved the ights of othes Asking fo fogiveness fo this sin Having fim belief that Allāh is the Fogive of sins www.salafiebooks.com 5
3. Piety (Taqwā) قوى الت Due to the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: vu t s q p o n m l k j And whoeve has taqwā of Allāh, He will make fo him a way out (of difficulty) and povide fo him fom (souces) he could not imagine. Ṭalāq (65:2-3). And also the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: K J I H G F E D C B A S R Q P O N M L And if the people of the towns had believed and had taqwa (piety), cetainly, We should have opened fo them blessings fom the heaven and the eath, but they belied (the Messenges). So We took them (with punishment) fo what they used to ean. Aʿāf (7:96) www.salafiebooks.com 6
Fom the fuits of taqwā ae emoval fom evey difficulty, povision fom whee one would not imagine, opening up of blesings fom the Eath and the heaven. As fo the definition of taqwā then it is, as elated fom Ṭalq bin Ḥabīb (aḥimahullāh): "To wok in obedience to Allāh, upon light fom Allāh, hoping fo Allāh's ewad and to abandon disobedience to Allāh, upon light fom Allāh, feaing the punishment of Allāh." Siya of al-dhahabī (4/601). The meaning of "upon light fom Allāh" is upon knowledge and insight in His eligion, that you obey Him and abandon disobedience to Him upon knowledge of what He odeed and pohibited. www.salafiebooks.com 7
4. Reliance Upon Allāh (Tawakkul) وكل ع ى الله الت Due to the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: ~ } { z y x w ª And whoeve places his tust in Allāh, He will suffice him (in his needs). Veily, Allāh will accomplish his pupose. Indeed Allah has set a measue fo all things. Ṭalāq (65:3). And the statement of the Messenge (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam), "If only you wee to ely upon Allāh as He tuly should be elied upon He would bestow you with sustenance just as the bids leave hungy in the moning and etun full." Repoted by al-timidhī, Aḥmad, Ibn Mājah. Fom the fuits of elying upon Allāh ae Allāh being sufficient fo the sevant (in all his needs), acquiing what a sevant desies of goodness fo himself, and sustenance being acquied with the ease with which the bid acquies sustenance. It is fom eliance (tawakkul) upon Allāh to use the legislated and lawful ways and means though which goals and objectives www.salafiebooks.com 8
ae attained. Thus, eliance is to make use of the ways and means and then ely upon Allāh fo binging about the fuits and effects of those ways and means, since He is the ceato of all the ways and means (asbaab) and thei effects (musabbabaat). www.salafiebooks.com 9
5. Spending Upon a Seeke of Knowledge النفقة ع ى طالب العلم The evidence is the ḥadīth of Anas bin Mālik (aḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) who said: Thee wee two bothes in the time of the Messenge of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) and one of them would come to the Pophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) [to lean] and the othe would pusue his tade pofession. So the one who would pusue his pofession complained about his bothe to the Pophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) and he eplied: "Pehaps you ae being povided fo due to (you spending upon) him." Repoted by al-timidhī. Fom the benefits of this ḥadīth ae the commendability of spending upon a seeke of knowledge and that spending upon a seeke of knowledge bings about sustenance fo the spende. And one should take cae to spend only upon the seeke of knowledge who is a peson of the Sunnah, upon the ʿaqīdah and manhaj of the Righteous Salaf, one who loves and hates fo its sake and who befiends and disavows fo its sake, one who loves the Scholas of the Sunnah and espects them and takes fom them in the affais of his eligion. www.salafiebooks.com 10
6. Establishing the Legislation of Allāh قامة شرع الله إ The evidence is the statement of Allāh, the Mighty and Exalted: Y X W V U T S R Q P O N d c ba ` _ ^] \ [ Z h g f e And if only they had acted accoding to the Toah, the Gospel and what has (now) been sent down to them fom thei Lod (the Quʾān), they would suely have gotten povision fom above them and fom undeneath thei feet. Thee ae fom among them people who ae on the ight couse but many of them do evil deeds. Al-Māʾidah (5:66). Abiding by what Allāh has evealed of legislation is a means of povision fom above (the heaven) and below (the Eath) and this applies to all without exception, both the ules and the uled, and in mattes of belief, woship and methodology. www.salafiebooks.com 11
7. Hajj and ʿUmah املتابعة ب ن الحج والعمرة The evidence is the saying of the Messenge of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "Follow up between (the pefomance) of Hajj and ʿUmah fo they emove povety and sins just like the bellow (of the funace) emoves the doss fom ion, gold and silve. And a ighteous Hajj has no othe ewad but Paadise." Repoted by Aḥmad and declaed ṣaḥīḥ by al-albānī. Fom the fuits of fequent pefomance of Ḥajj and ʿUmah ae the emoval of povety, the emoval of sins and enty into Paadise. www.salafiebooks.com 12
8. Keeping Ties of Kinship لة الرحم ص The evidence is the saying of the Messenge of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "Whoevee is pleased that his sustenance is enlagened and his life is extended then let him maintain the ties of kinship." Repoted by al-bukhāī. Fom the fuits of keeping the ties of kinship is enlagenment of povision. www.salafiebooks.com 13
9. Spending in the Path of Allāh الانفاق ي سبيل الله The evidence is the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: Ð Ï Î ÍÌ Ë Ê É È Ç Æ Å Ä Ã Â Ø Ö Õ ÔÓ Ò Ñ Say: "Tuly, my Lod enlages the povision fo whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) esticts (it) fo him, and whatsoeve you spend of anything (in Allah's Cause), He will eplace it. And He is the Best of povides." Sabaʾ (34:39) And also the saying of the Messenge of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "Allāh the Most High said, 'Spend, O son of Adam and you will be spent upon'." Repoted by Muslim. Fom the fuits of spending in the way of Allāh (though chaity) ae the eplacement of what has been spent and Allāh spending upon the sevant. www.salafiebooks.com 14
10. Benevolence Towads the Weak الاحسان إ ى الضعفاء The evidence is the saying of Allāh's Messenge (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "Ae you aided and ganted sustenance except by way of the poo, weak ones amongst you?" Repoted by al- Bukhāī. And also his (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam's) saying: "Seek (closeness to) me though you poo, weak ones fo you ae ganted sustenance and aided though you poo, weak ones." Repoted by al-timidhī. Fom the benefits of benevolence and kindess to the poo and weak is expansive sustenance, aid fom Allāh and honou. www.salafiebooks.com 15
11. Migation in the Path of Allāh ال هجرة ي سبيل الله The evidence is the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: µ ³ ² ± «He who emigates (fom his home) in the cause of Allah, will find on eath many dwelling places and plenty to live by. Nisāʾ (4:100) The one who emigates in Allāh's cause will find goodness and blessing and also plentifulness in the means of living. www.salafiebooks.com 16
WAYS OF ACQUIRING RIZQ (SUSTENANCE) 12. Supplication (Duʿā) لدعاء ا The evidence is the saying of Allāh's Messenge (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "I seek efuge with you fom the tial of povety )." Related by al-bukhāī. And also his عوذ بك م ن ف ت ن ة ال ف قر ( أ saying, "Seek efuge in Allāh fom povety, scacity and humiliation, and that you oppess (othes) o ae oppessed." Related by al-nasāʾī, Abū Dāwūd and Ibn Mājah. Supplication is fom the keys of opening upon sustenance and it also epels povety and tibulations. www.salafiebooks.com 17
13. Remembance of Allāh (Dhik) ذكرالله تعا ى The evidence is the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: Ì Ë Ê É È Ç Æ Å But whosoeve tuns away fom My emembance veily, fo him is a life of hadship, and We shall aise him up blind on the Day of Resuection. Ṭā Ha (20:114) And also the saying of the Messenge of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam): "No people sit togethe, emembeing Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, except that the Angels suound them and envelope them with mecy and tanquility descends upon them and Allāh mentions them to those who ae with Him." Repoted by Muslim. Fom the fuits of emembance (dhik) is a life of ease. Constant emembance of Allāh bings about ease and spaciousness in povision and livelihood. www.salafiebooks.com 18
14. Eanestness in Seeking Povision التبك ي طلب الرزق The evidence is as naated by Ṣakh al-ghāmidī that Allāh's Messenge (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) said: "O Allāh bless my ummah in its embakment (of thei affais) in the ealie (pat of the day)." Related by Abū Dāwūd, al-timidhī, Ibn Mājah and othes, declaed ṣaḥīḥ by al-albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Mājah. And wheneve he (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) would send people on a mission o dispatch an amy, he would send them in the fist pat of the day. And Ṣakh himself was a tade and would send out his wokes in the fist pat of the day, so he was successful and his wealth enlagened geatly. www.salafiebooks.com 19
15. Gatefulness (Shuk) لشكر ا The evidence is the saying of Allāh, the Exalted: f e d cb a ` _ ^ ] i h g And (emembe) when you Lod poclaimed: "If you ae gateful (give thanks), I will give you moe (of My blessings), but if you ae thankless (ungateful), My punishment is indeed sevee." Ibāhīm (14:7). And He, the Exalted, also said: N M LK J I H GF E D C B A Y X W V U T SR Q P O c b a ` _ ^ ] \ [ Z www.salafiebooks.com 20
p o nm l k j i h g f e d s q Indeed thee was fo Sabaʾ (Sheba) a sign in thei dwelling place, - two gadens on the ight hand and on the left (and it was said to them) "Eat of the povision of you Lod, and be gateful to Him, a fai land and an Oft-Fogiving Lod." But they tuned away (fom the obedience of Allah), so We sent against them a flood eleased fom the dam, and We conveted thei two gadens into gadens poducing bitte bad fuit, and tamaisks, and some few lote-tees. Like this We equited them because they wee ungateful disbelieves. And neve do We equit in such a way except those who ae ungateful, (disbelieves). Sabaʾ (34:15-17) Being gateful fo the blessings and favous of Allāh leads to an incease in the favous and thei pesistence. Being ungateful is a cause of punishment and ending of the blessings and favous as occued to the people of Sabaʾ. And being gateful is giving obedience to Allāh in what He commanded and efaining fom disobedience to Allāh in what He pohibited. kkk www.salafiebooks.com 21

Ibn al-qayyim (aḥimahullāh) said: The people of Islām ae stanges amongst mankind. And the believes ae stanges amongst the people of Islām. And the people of knowledge ae stanges amongst the believes. And the people of the Sunnah who sepaate it fom the desies and innovations, they ae stanges. And those who call to it and have patience upon the ham of the opposes, they ae the seveest of them (all) in stangeness. Howeve, they ae the people of Allāh in tuth. Thee is no stangeness fo them (in eality), (athe) thei stangeness is only in elation to the majoity about whom Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, said, "If you wee to obey most of those upon the Eath they would misguide you fom the path of Allāh" (6:116). So the ones (mentioned in the vese) ae (the eal) stanges to Allāh and His Messenge and thei stangeness is the deseting (type of) stangeness even if they ae wellknown and pointed towads.
