Outreaches can be done based on your specific resources. Everyone starts somewhere. Outreach can provide a rhythm to your calendar, giving opportunity for big days. At Guts Church, we take advantage of outreaches on our campus, creating home games. You want to play home games. You win at home.
THE NIGHTMARE The Nightmare takes five of the biggest killers of young people and dramatically portrays them, leading you to the love and compassion of Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross. WHY The Nightmare Year One:.01-1993.02 - $54,000 budget.03-120 volunteers.04-4 nights With 400+ volunteers actively serving each night, this outreach provides a strong rally point for the church and an effective tool for evangelism with thousands giving their lives to Jesus every October. WHERE The Nightmare building is located on the Guts Church Tulsa property, housing the set for the outreach year-round. In October, the event expands throughout the youth buildings to accomadate volunteers, cast and the public. WHO This event has become a tradition in Tulsa, tens of thousands attend, hundreds of church from around the country utilize this as an outreach for their teenagers. WHEN The buildout of this production happens in August and September, then The Nightmare runs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in October. HOW The initial budget on the previous page has grown to over $150,000 annually. TOUGHER THAN HELL MOTORCYCLE RALLY WHY The Tougher Than Hell Motorcycle Rally is an event targeting the motorcycle community in and around Tulsa. A 100 mile ride through northeast Oklahoma, classic rock bands, new car and motorcycle giveaways, food, and fun are used to draw in the masses to preach the Gospel with amazing results. A vehicle is given away at the Rally and another at church the next day, where standing room only crowds experience the life giving culture of Guts Church. paul teutul jr 2009 Guts Church rallies around two causes with this event: feeding children and drilling water wells in La Gonâve Haiti and reaching the Tulsa biker community for Jesus.
Guts Girls Brunch Guts Girls Brunch Year One:.01-2007.02-300 Women The Guts Girls Brunch hosts over 1,200 women who enjoy a delicious brunch, entertainment, and world-renown speakers such as Lisa Bevere, Christine Caine, and Nancy Alcorn. Each year is a fun new theme and has included Guts Girls Goes Aussie, Black and White, The Greatest Show on Earth, and Guts Girls in the City. WHERE This event takes place on the Guts Church campus and is a great way for women to attend in a non-traditional setting. WHEN The Guts Girls Brunch is held in August of every year, leading into the most important time for most women and moms, back to school! WHY Celebrating every season of life is a priority for Guts Girls and Pastor Sandy Scheer. The Guts Girls Brunch does that and so much more. Women are drawn to the event by an extravagant décor that provides a perfect atmosphere to hear a powerful message, have a great time with girlfriends, and experience church like never before.
Friday Groceries Friday groceries Year One:.01-2009.02-100 families weekly The Guts Distribution Center houses Friday Groceries each week, as well as a fully operational Thrift Store. The Friday Groceries program averages 1,000 families per week. The Thrift Store provides an opportunity for people in the community to purchase quality domestic items at a very low cost. Friday Groceries is open every Friday and provides weekly groceries, clothing, shoes, and toys for families at no cost. WHen The Guts Distribution Center is open Monday through Thursday 9am-3pm and the Friday Groceries program operates every Friday from 10am 12pm. why The sole objective of the Guts Distribution Center is to bring the saving knowledge of Jesus to the community. We supply people with groceries and household items but we also present them with Jesus. WHere The Guts Distribution Center is located on the Guts Church campus.
hitman The Hitman Program reaches outside the walls of the local church. It celebrates the "Hit of the week" in over twenty local high school football programs. Representatives attend weekly practices and bring a challenging word to the team. The student athlete with the biggest hit is given the coveted Hitman t-shirt. Hitman Reps are often found on the sidelines during games, on the team buses for road trips, and in the middle of the huddle pre-game. The season culminates with the Hitman Awards Ceremony. This ESPY-style awards show highlights players from over twenty schools in five different categories. WHERE Reps travel to high school football practice fields on a weekly basis and the Hitman Awards are held on the Guts Church campus. WHEN This program takes place during the football season, beginning at the start of September and finishing in November. WHY The goal is to promote character and intensity on and off the field. Placing a premium on celebrating high school athletes, the Hitman Program is helping to influence the culture of high cchool football - Hit Hard and Love God.
Barefoot Sunday BAREFOOT SUNDAY Year One:.01-2011.02-6,700 pairs of shoes collected Barefoot Sunday is an event designed to rally the church in an effort to stock the Distribution Center with shoes for a year. People attend church wearing shoes and leave without them. Tens of thousands of shoes are collected each year. WHY Barefoot Sunday rallies the church to clean out their closets of shoes in order to supply the Distribution Center with shoes to give away at Friday Groceries and to sell in the Thrift Store. WHERE Barefoot Sunday is held on the Guts Church campus in the sanctuary. WHEN Barefoot Sunday is held on Palm Sunday, during all regularly scheduled services.
Team relief days These are days that unite the church to meet needs in the community, partnering with business and civic leaders. Our team meets regularly with the mayor and county commissioners targeting projects their plans and budgets cannot facilitate. Team Relief Days add ministry and leadership equity to the church s relationship with the city. Where Imagine parks in disrepair, at risk neighborhoods and areas of the community that desperately need attention and you can have a mental picture of where Team Relief thrives. Addressing this need in the city is one of the most powerful tools we have to gain a seat at the table. When Strategic planning for these days should capitalize on other happenings in the church. A prime time for this event is leading into Easter in order to use the event as a platform to invite people to church as a result of the church aiding their community. WHY This event simultaneously rallies the church to do something great in the community while also spotlighting the church in the civic arena as a whatever it takes group of people that is available to help in any capacity.
Guts girls gives back Why This event focuses on giving women the opportunity to give to desperate people in the Tulsa community and provides an incredible opportunity for Guts Church to impact those in need in the community during the holiday season. This is an amazing outreach, an evening which targets women and children in the Christmas season who have suffered abuse, who have loved ones encarcerated, or are addicted to drugs. Local NGO and DHS agencies, helping women and children in need, are selected to be visited by Guts Girls teams. Activities and gifts are tailored to each agency according to their specific need and Guts Girls are given the oppportunity to minister to them personally. Where Women gather at Guts Church to celebrate the season and the event and then travel in teams to the agencies. When This event takes place at the beginning of the Christmas season when needs at local agencies are heightened.
