CHAPTER 16 AL-NAHL (128 VERSES) VERSES 1-64 ب س م الل ه الر ح م ن الر ح يم MERITS ابن بابويه: بإسناده عن عاصم بن محيد احلناط عن حممد بن مسلم عن أيب جعفر )عليه السالم( قال:»من قرأ سورة النحل يفكل شهر كفي املغرم يف الدنيا. و سبعني نوعا من أنواع البالء أهونه اجلنون و اجلذام و الربص وكان مسكنه يف جنة عدن و هي وسط اجلنان«. Ibn Babuwayh, by his chain, from Aasim Bin Hameed Al Hanaat, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, Abu Ja far asws has said: One who recites Surah Al-Nahl during every month, it would suffice him against the creditors of the world, and seventy types of afflictions, the least of these being the insanity, and the leprosy, and the vitiligo, and his dwelling would be in the Garden of Eden, and it is in the middle of the Gardens (of Paradise). 1 و من )خواص القرآن(: روي عن النيب )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( أنه قال:»من قرأ هذه السورة مل حياسبه اهلل تعاىل مبا أنعم عليه و إن مات يومه أو ليلته و تالهاكان له من األجركالذي مات و أحسن الوصية And from (the book) Khawas Al Quran It is reported from the Prophet saww that he saww said: One who recites this Chapter (Surah Al-Nahl), Allah azwj will not Reckon him with whatever He azwj had Favoured upon him, and if he were to die during his day or his night and had had recited it, there would be for him from the Recompense like the one who died and had the best bequest. و من كتبها و دفنها يف بستان احرتق مجيعه و إن تركت يف منزل قوم هلكوا قبل السنة مجيعهم«. And one who writes it and buries it in an orchard, it would burn down the entirety of it, and if he leaves it in a house of a people, they would be destroyed before the year, altogether. 2 1 2 ثواب األعمال:. 107 مجمع البيان 535 6: مثله 3 out of 60

و عن الصادق )عليه السالم( قال:»منكتبها و جعلها يف حائط البستان مل تبق شجرة حتمل إال و سقط محلها و تنثر And from Al-Sadiq asws having said: One who writes it (Surah Al-Nahl) and makes it to be in a wall of the orchard, there would not remain a tree bearing fruit except and its load would fall and scatter. و إن جعلها يف منزل قوم بادوا و انقرضوا من أوهلم إىل آخرهم يف تلك السنة And if he makes it to be in a house of a people, they would become remote and extinct, from their first one to their last one, during that very year. فاتق اهلل- يا فاعله- و ال تعمله إال لظامل«. Therefore, fear Allah azwj, O its doer, and do not do it except to an unjust one!. 3 VERSES 1 & 2 أ ت ى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه و ت ع اىل س ب ح ان ه ع م ا ي ش ر ك ون }1{ The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it. Glorious is He and Exalted from what they are associating [16:1] ي ن ز ل ال م ال ئ ك ة ب الر وح م ن أ م ر ه ع ل ى م ن ي ش اء م ن ع ب اد ه أ ن أ ن ذ ر وا أ ن ه ال إ ل ه إ ال أ ن ا ف ات ق و ن }2{ He Sends down the Angels with the Spirit from His Command upon one He so Desires to from His servants that they should be warning, that there is no god except Me, therefore fear Me [16:2] حممد بن إبراهيم النعماين قال: أخربنا علي بن أمحد عن عبيد اهلل بن موسى العلوي قال: حدثنا علي بن احلسني عن علي بن حسان عن عبد الرمحن بن كثري عن أيب عبد اهلل )عليه السالم( يف قوله عز و جل: أ تى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه. قال:»هو أمرنا أمر اهلل عز و جل أن ال يستعجل به حىت يؤيده اهلل بثالثة أجناد: املالئكة و املؤمنني و الرعب و خروجه كخروج رسول اهلل )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( و ذلك قوله عز و جل: ك ما أ خ ر ج ك ر ب ك م ن ب ي ت ك ب احل ق «. Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Al No mani, from Ali Bin Ahmad, from Ubeydullah Bin Musa Al Alawy, from Ali Bin Al Husayn, from Ali Bin Hisaan, from Abdul Rahman Bin Kaseer, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws regarding the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it [16:1], 3 خواص القرآن: 43 )مخطوط( 4 out of 60

he asws said: It is our asws matter (Al-Qaim asws ), the Command of Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic, that there is no hastening of it until Allah azwj Supports it with three armies the Angels, and the Momineen, and the fear. And his asws (Al-Qaim asws ) s rising would be like the rising of Rasool-Allah saww, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: Just as your Lord Caused you to go forth from your house with the Truth [8:5]. 4 أبو جعفر حممد بن جرير الطربي يف )مسند فاطمة(: قال: أخربين أبو املفضل حممد بن عبد اهلل قال: أخربنا حممد بن مهام قال: أخربنا جعفر بن حممد بن مالك قال: حدثنا علي بن يونس اخلزاز عن إمساعيل بن عمر بن أبان عن أبيه عن أيب عبد اهلل )عليه السالم( قال:»إذا أراد اهلل قيام القائم )عليه السالم( بعث جربئيل )عليه السالم( يف صورة طائر أبيض فيضع إحدى رجليه على الكعبة و االخرى على بيت املقدس مث ينادي بأعلى صوته أ تى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه Abu Ja far Muhammad Bin Jareer Al Tabary in (the book) Masnad Fatima, said, Abu Al Mufazzal Muhammad Bin Abdullah informed me, from Muhammad Bin Hamam, from Ja far Bin Muhammad Bin Maalik, from Ali Bin Yunus Al Khazaz, from Ismail Bin Umar Bin Abaan, from his father, Abu Abdullah asws has said: When Allah azwj Intends Al-Qaim asws to rise, He azwj would Send Jibraeel as in the image of a white bird. So he as would place one of his feet upon the Kaaba, and the other upon Bayt Al-Maqdas, then he as would call out in a loud voice: The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it [16:1]. - قال- فيحضر القائم فيصلي عند مقام إبراهيم ركعتني مث ينصرف و حواليه أصحابه و هم ثالمثائة و ثالثة عشر رجال إن فيهم ملن يسري من فراشه ليال فيخرج و معه احلجر فيلقيه فتعشب األرض«. He asws said: So, Al-Qaim asws would appear, and Pray two Cycles at Maqaam-e- Ibrahim as. Then he asws would leave and his asws companions would be around him asws, and they would be three hundred and thirteen men. Among them would be ones who would have slept upon their beds at night, and would come out with him asws at Al- Hajar (The Black Stone). So they would meet him asws, and the earth would become greener. 5 حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد عن احلسن بن حمبوب عن عمر بن يزيد قلت اآلية النحل. اليب عبد اهلل عليه السالم إذا مضى االمام يفضى من علمه يف الليلة الىت ميضى فيها إىل االمام القائم من بعده مثل ماكان يعلم املاضي It has been narrated to us by Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Umar Bin Yazeed who said: I recited: The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it. Glorious is He and Exalted from what they are associating [16:1] to Abu Abdullah asws and said, If the Imam asws passes away, does he asws delegate from his asws knowledge during the night in which he asws passes away to the established Imam asws after him asws, the like of what the previous Imam asws had made known to him asws? 4 5 الغيبة: 43 /243 دالئل اإلمامة: 252 5 out of 60

قال وما شاء اهلل من ذلك يورث كتبا وال يوكل إىل نفسه ويزاد يف ليله وهناره. He asws said: And (also) whatever Allah azwj so Desires from that, he asws inherits the Books and is not left to rely upon himself asws, and he asws gets increased (with Knowledge by Allah azwj ) during his asws nights and days. 6 حم م د ب ن حي ي ع ن حم م د ب ن احل س ني ع ن ع ل ي ب ن أ س ب اط ع ن احل س ني ب ن أ يب ال ع ال ء ع ن س ع د ا س ك اف ق ال أ ت ى ر ج ل أ م ري ال م ؤ م ن ني ( عليه السالم ) ي س أ ل ه ع ن الر وح أ ل ي س ه و ج ب ر ئ يل ف ق ال ل ه أ م ري ال م ؤ م ن ني ( عليه السالم ) ج ب ر ئ يل ( عليه السالم ) م ن ج ب ر ئ يل ل م ا أ ح د ي ز ع م ئ ك ة و الر وح غ ي ر ج ب ر ئ يل ف ك ر ر ذ ل ك ع ل ى الر ج ل ف ق ال ل ه ل ق د ق ل ت ع ظ يما م ن ال ق و أ ن الر وح غ ي ر ال م ال Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Ali Bin Asbat, from Al Husayn Bin Abu Al A ala, from Sa ad Al Askaf who said, A man came over to Amir Al-Momineen asws asking him asws about the Spirit, Isn t it Jibraeel as?. So Amir Al-Momineen asws said to him: Jibraeel as is from the Angels, and the Spirit is other than Jibraeel as, and he asws reiterated that upon the man. So he said to him asws, You asws have spoken a great thing from the speech. There is no one claiming that the Spirit is other than Jibraeel as. أ م ر ف ق ال ل ه أ م ري ال م ؤ م ن ني ( عليه السالم ) إ ن ك ض ال ت ر و ي ع ن أ ه ل الض ال ل ي ق ول الل ه ت ع اىل ل ن ب ي ه ( صلى اهلل عليه وآله ) أ تى الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه س ب حان ه و ت عاىل ع م ا ي ش ر ك ون ي ن ز ل ال م الئ ك ة ب الر وح و الر وح غ ي ر ال م ال ئ ك ة ص ل و ات الل ه ع ل ي ه م. So Amir Al-Momineen asws said to him: You have strayed and are reporting from the strayed people. Allah azwj the Exalted is Saying to His azwj Prophet saww : The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it. Glorious is He and Exalted from what they are associating [16:1] He Sends down the Angels with the Spirit [16:2], and the Spirit is other than the Angels, may the Salawat of Allah azwj be upon them. 7 مث قال: و يف رواية أيب اجلارود عن أيب جعفر )عليه السالم( يف قوله ع لى م ن ي شاء م ن ع باد ه أ ن أ ن ذ ر وا أ ن ه ال إ له إ ال أ ن ا ف ات ق و ن يقول:»بالكتاب و النبوة«. Then (Ali Bin Ibrahim) said: And in a report of Abu Al Jaroud, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja far asws regarding His azwj Words: upon one He so Desires to from His servants that they should be warning, there is no God except Me, therefore be fearing [16:2]. Background report و قال علي بن إبراهيم: نزلت ملا سألت قريش رسول اهلل )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( أن ينزل عليهم العذاب فأنزل اهلل تبارك و تعاىل: أ تى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه و قوله: ي ن ز ل ال م الئ ك ة ب الر وح م ن أ م ر ه يعين بالقوة اليت جعلها اهلل فيهم. And Ali Bin Ibrahim said, It was Revealed when Quraysh asked Rasool-Allah saww to get the Punishment Sent down upon them. So Allah azwj Blessed and Exalted Revealed: The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it [16:1], and His azwj Words: He Sends down the Angels with the Spirit from His Command [16:2] meaning with the strength which Allah azwj would Make it to be in them. 9 العياشي: عن هشام بن سامل عن بعض أصحابنا عن أيب عبد اهلل )عليه السالم( قال: سألته عن قول اهلل أ تى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه. قال:»إذا أخرب اهلل النيب )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( بشيء إىل الوقت فهو قوله أ تى أ م ر الل ه ف ال ت س ت ع ج ل وه حىت يأيت ذلك الوقت«. Al Ayyashi, from Hisham Bin Salim, from one of our companions, From Abu Abdullah asws, he (the narrator) said, I asked him asws about the Words of Allah azwj : The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it [16:1]. He asws said: When Allah azwj Informs the Prophet saww about something up to the time, so these are His azwj Words: The Command of Allah will come, therefore do not hasten it [16:1], until that time actually comes. و قال:»إن اهلل إذا أخرب أن شيئاكائن فكأنه قدكان«. And he asws said: Surely Allah azwj, when He azwj Informs that something would be happening, so it is as if it has already happened (definitely happen). 10 VERSES 3-8 خ ل ق الس م او ات و األ ر ض ب احل ق ت ع اىل ع م ا ي ش ر ك ون }3{ He Created the skies and the earth with the Truth. Exalted is He from what they are associating [16:3] خ ل ق ا ن س ان م ن ن ط ف ة ف إ ذ ا ه و خ ص يم م ب ني }4{ 9 10 تفسير القم ي. 382 :1 تفسير العي اشي. 2 /254 :2 7 out of 60

He Created the human being from a seed, but then he is an open contender [16:4] و األ ن ع ام خ ل ق ه ا ل ك م ف يه ا د ف ء و م ن اف ع و م ن ه ا ت أ ك ل ون }5{ And the cattle, He Created these for you. In these you have warm clothing and benefits, and from these you are eating [16:5] و ل ك م ف يه ا مج ال ح ني ت ر حي ون و ح ني ت س ر ح ون }6{ And for you is beauty in these when you are bringing them in (to rest) and when you are taking them out (to pasture) [16:6] }7{ و حت م ل أ ث ق ال ك م إ ىل ب ل د مل ت ك ون وا ب ال غ يه إ ال ب ش ق األ ن ف س إ ن ر ب ك م ل ر ء وف ر ح يم And they carry your loads to cities you could not reach except with difficulties of the self. Surely your Lord is Kind, Merciful [16:7] و اخل ي ل و ال ب غ ال و احل م ري ل ت ر ك ب وه ا و ز ين ة و ي ل ق م ا ال ت ع ل م ون }8{ And (Created) the horses and the mules and the donkeys for you to ride these and as an adornment, and He Created what you do not know (about) [16:8] أ ب و ع ل ي األ ش ع ر ي ع ن حم م د ب ن ع ب د اجل ب ار ع ن ص ف و ان ب ن حي ي ع ن ع ب د الل ه ب ن حي ي ال ك اه ل ي ق ال مس ع ت أ ب ا ع ب د الل ه ( عليه السالم ) ي ق ول و ي ذ ك ر احل ج ف ق ال ق ال ر س ول الل ه ( صلى اهلل عليه وآله ) ه و أ ح د اجل ه اد ي ن ه و ج ه اد الض ع ف اء و ن ن الض ع ف اء يء أ ف ض ل م ن احل ج إ ال الص ال ة و يف احل ج هل اه ن ا ص ال ة و ل ي س يف الص ال ة ق ب ل ك م ح ج ال ت د ع احل ج و أ ن ت ت ق د ر أ م ا إ ن ه ل ي س ش ع ل ي ه Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from safwan Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Yahya Al Kahily who said, I heard Abu Abdullah asws saying, and the Hajj was mentioned, so he asws said: Rasool-Allah saww said: It is one of the two Jihads. It is the Jihad of the weak, and we asws are the weak ones. But, there is nothing superior than the Hajj except for the Salat. And in the Hajj there is Salat over there, and there was no Salat in Hajj (performed) before you. Do not leave the Hajj while you are able over it. أ م ا ت ر ى أ ن ه ي ش ع ث ر أ س ك و ي ق ش ف ف يه ج ل د ك و مي ت ن ع ف يه م ن الن ظ ر إ ىل الن س اء و إ ن ا ن ن هل اه ن ا و ن ن ق ر يب و ل ن ا م ي اه م ت ص ل ة م ا ن ب ل غ احل ج ح ىت ي ش ق ع ل ي ن ا ف ك ي ف أ ن ت م يف ب ع د ال ب ال د Do you not see that it dishevels your head and roughens your skin, and during it you are forbidden from looking at the women? And we asws are over here for it, and we asws 8 out of 60

are nearby, and for us asws is its continuous (supply of) its water, (even then) we asws do not reach the Hajj until it is difficult upon us asws. So how would you be in the remote cities? و م ا م ن م ل ك و ال س وق ة ي ص ل إ ىل احل ج إ ال مب ش ق ة يف ت غ ي ري م ط ع م أ و م ش ر ب أ و ر يح أ و ش س ال ي س ت ط يع ر د ه ا و ذ ل ك ق و ل ه ع ز و ج ل و حت م ل أ ث قال ك م إ ىل ب ل د مل ت ك ون وا بال غ يه إ ال ب ش ق األ ن ف س إ ن ر ب ك م ل ر ؤ ف ر ح يم. And there is none from a king, nor a common folk who arrives to the Hajj except with difficulties with regards to the alteration of the food, or drink, or weather, or sun (heat), not having the ability to repel it; and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: And they carry your loads to cities you could not reach except with difficulties of the self. Surely your Lord is Kind, Merciful [16:7]. 11 ع ل ي ع ن أ ب يه ع ن اب ن أ يب ع م ري ع ن م ع او ي ة ب ن ع م ار ق ال ق ال أ ب و ع ب د الل ه ( عليه السالم ) احل ج اج ي ص د ر ون ع ل ى ث ال ث ة أ ص ن ا ف ص ن ف ي ع ت ق م ن الن ار و ص ن ف ي ر ج م ن ذ ن وب ه ك ه ي ئ ة ي و م و ل د ت ه أ م ه و ص ن ف حي ف ظ يف أ ه ل ه و م ال ه ف ذ اك أ د ن م ا ي ر ج ع ب ه احل اج. Ali, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muawiya Bin Ammar who said, Abu Abdullah asws said: The Pilgrims are arriving back being upon three types a type who is Emancipated (liberated) from the Fire, and a type who is exited from his sins as if he was like the day his mother gave him birth, and a type who received Protection regarding his family and his wealth. So that is the lwast of what the Pilgrim returns with. 12 العياشي: عن زرارة عن أحدمها )عليهما السالم( قال: سألته عن أبوال اخليل و البغال و احلمري. قال: حلمها حالال فكرهها. قلت: أليس Al Ayashi, from Zarara, (It has been narrated) from one of the two asws (5 th or 6 th Imam asws ), said, I asked him asws about the urine of the horses, and the mules and the donkeys. He asws said: It is abhorrent. I said, Is their flesh not Permissible? قال: فقال:»أليس قد بني اهلل لكم: و األ ن عام خ ل ق ها ل ك م ف يها د ف ء و م ناف ع و م ن ها ت أ ك ل ون و قال يف اخليل و البغال و احلمري: ل ت ر ك ب وها و ز ين ة فجعل لألكل األنعام اليت قص اهلل يف الكتاب و جعل للركوب اخليل و البغال و احلمري و ليس حلومها حبرام و لكن الناس عافوها«. He (the narrator) said, So he asws said: Has not Allah azwj Explained for you: And the cattle, He Created these for you. In these you have warm clothing and benefits, and from these you are eating [16:5]? And He azwj Said regarding the horses, and the mules, and the donkeys: for you to ride these and as an adornment [16:8]. and Made for the riding, the horses, and the mules, and the donkeys. And their flesh is not Prohibited, but the people excuse (themselves) from it. 13 الشيخ يف )التهذيب(: بإسناده عن أمحد بن حممد عن حممد بن خالد عن القاسم بن عروة عن ابن بكري عن زرارة عن أحدمها )عليهما السالم( يف أبوال الدواب تصيب الثوب فكرهه فقلت: أليس حلومها حالال قال:»بلى و لكن ليس مما جعله اهلل لألكل«. Al Shaykh in (the book) Al Tehzeeb, by his chain, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Al Qasim Bin Urwat, from Ibn Bakeyr, from Zurara, From one of the two (5 th or 6 th Imam asws ) regarding the urine of the animals hitting the clothes, but he asws disliked it. So I said, Isn t their meat Permissible (to eat)? He asws said: Yes, but it (urine) isn t from what Allah azwj Made for the consumption. 14 VERSES 9-12 و ع ل ى الل ه ق ص د الس ب يل و م ن ه ا ج ائ ر و ل و ش اء هل د اك م أ مج ع ني }9{ And upon Allah is to Direct to the Way, and from these (some) are crooked, and had He so Desired, He would have Guided you altogether [16:9] ه و ال ذ ي أ ن ز ل م ن الس م اء م اء ل ك م م ن ه ش ر اب و م ن ه ش ج ر ف يه ت س يم ون }10{ He is the One Who Sends down water from the sky for you; from it (you drink), and from it trees (grow), wherein you are pasturing [16:10] ي ن ب ت ل ك م ب ه الز ر ع ي ت ف ك ر ون }11{ و الز ي ت ون و الن خ يل و األ ع ن اب و م ن ك ل الث م ر ا ت إ ن يف ذ ل ك آل ي ة ل ق و م With it He Grows for you the crops, and the olives, and the palm trees, and the grapes, and from all fruits. And He Made subservient for you the night, and the day, and the sun, and the moon; and the stars are made subservient by His Command. Surely there are signs in this for a people who use their intellects [16:12] Subservience of the creation is to Ali asws ]ق ال ا م ام [ ع: ق ال ]ا م ام [ م وس ى ب ن ج ع ف ر ع إ ن ر س ول الل ه ص ل م ا اع ت ذ ر ه ؤ ال ء ]املنافقني ]ال م ن اف ق و ن[ إ ل ي ه[ مب ا اع ت ذ ر وا ت ك ر م ع ل ي ه م ب أ ن ق ب ل ظ و اه ر ه م - و و ك ل ب و اط ن ه م إ ىل ر ب م The Imam (Hassan Al-Askari asws ) said that the Imam Musa asws Bin Ja'far asws said: When Rasool-Allah saww heard the excuses of those hypocrites to him saww with what they were excusing themselves with, was honouring to them, he saww accepted their apparent excuses and left the matter of their hidden (animosity) to their Lord azwj. ل ك ن ج رب ئ يل ع أ ت اه ف ق ال : ي ا حم م د إ ن ال ع ل ي األ ع ل ى ي ق ر أ ع ل ي ك الس ال م و ي ق ول : اخ ر ج ب ؤ ال ء ال م ر د ة ال ذ ين ات ص ل ب ك ع ن ه م- يف و ع ل ي ع: ع ل ى ن ك ث ه م ل ب ي ع ت ه و ت و ط ين ه م ن ف وس ه م ع ل ى م ال ف ت ه م ع ل ي ا ل ي ظ ه ر م ن ع ج ائ ب م ا أ ك ر م ه الل ه ب ه م ن ط و اع ي ة األ ر ض اجل ب ال و الس م اء ل ه و س ائ ر م ا خ ل ق الل ه - ل م ا أ و ق ف ه م و ق ف ك و أ ق ام ه م ق ام ك - ل ي ع ل م وا أ ن و ل الل ه ع ل ي ا غ ين ع ن ه م و أ ن ه ال ي ك ف ع ن ه م ان ت ق ام ه م ن ه م - إ ال ب أ م ر الل ه ال ذ ي ل ه ف يه و ف يه م الت د ب ري ال ذ ي ه و ب ال غ ه و احل ك م ة ال يت ه و ع ام ل ب ا و مم ض ل م ا ي وج ب ه ا. But Jibraeel as came to him saww and said: The Highest of the High Conveys the Greetings upon you saww and is Saying: Go out with these apostates, those from whom has reached to you saww regarding Ali asws, upon their breaking his asws allegiance and their conspiring themselves upon opposing Ali asws, so that he asws may show them some wonders that He azwj has Honoured him asws with, that is from the earth and the mountains and the skies, all these have been Made subservient to him asws, and the rest of what Allah azwj Created and why he asws has been made to stand in your saww place, so that they would know that the Guardian of Allah azwj, Ali asws, is needless of them, and he asws is not refraining from his asws revenge from them except by the Command of Allah azwj wherein is the Plan for him asws and regarding them which he asws would be implementing it, and the wisdom he asws would be working with, and the accomplishment to what is a must. 15 VERSES 13-15 و م ا ذ ر أ ل ك م يف األ ر ض م ت ل ف ا أ ل و ان ه إ ن يف ذ ل ك آل ي ة ل ق و م ي ذ ك ر ون }13{ And what He has Multiplied for you in the earth of various types. و ه و ال ذ ي س خ ر ال ب ح ر ل ت أ ك ل وا م ن ه حل م ا ط ر ي ا و ت س ت خ ر ج وا م ن ه ح ل ي ة ت ل ب س ون ه ا و ت ر ى ال ف ل ك م و اخ ر ف يه و ل ت ب ت غ وا م ن ف ض ل ه و ل ع ل ك م ت ش ك ر ون }14{ And He is the One Who Made the sea subservient for you to be eating fresh flesh from it, and (for) you to extract ornaments from it to wear, and you see the ships cleaving in it, and for you to seek His Grace, and perhaps you would be grateful [16:14] و أ ل ق ى يف األ ر ض ر و اس ي أ ن ت يد ب ك م و أ ن ه ار ا و س ب ال ل ع ل ك م ت ه ت د ون }15{ And He Cast firm mountains in the earth lest it shakes with you, and rivers and roads, perhaps you may go aright [16:15] ع ن ج ع ف ر ب ن حم م د ع ن أ ب يه ع ن ج د ه ع ل ي ه م الس ال م أ ن الن يب ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه ق ال : م ا خ ل ق الل ه خ ل قا إ ال و ق د أ م ر ع ل ي ه آخ ر ي غ ل ب ب ه و ذ ل ك ان الل ه ت ب ار ك و ت ع اىل ل م ا خ ل ق ال ب ح ار يف الس م اء ف خ ر ت و ز خ ر ت و ق ال ت : أ ي ش يء ي غ ل ب ين From Ja far asws Bin Muhammad asws, from his asws father asws, from his asws grandfather asws, from the Prophet saww having said: Allah azwj did not Create a creation except and He azwj Commanded to another one to overcome it, and that is because Allah azwj Blessed and Exalted, when He azwj Created the sea in the sky, it prided and abounded and said, Which thing can overcome me? ف خ ل ق الل ه ت ع اىل ال ف ل ك ف أ د ار ه ا ب ه و ذ ل ل ه ا مث إ ن األ ر ض ف خ ر ت و ق ال ت : أ ي ش يء ي غ ل ب ين ف خ ل ق الل ه ت ع اىل اجل ب ال ف أ ث ب ت ه ا يف ظ ه ر ه ا أ و ت ادا م ن ه ا م ن أ ن ت يد مب ا ع ل ي ه ا ف ذ ل ت األ ر ض و اس ت ق ر ت. So Allah azwj the Exalted Created the planets, and these orbited with it and humbled it. Then the earth prided and said, Which thing can overcome me? So Allah azwj the Exalted Created the mountains and Affirmed these in its back as pegs from it from lest it shakes (uncontrollably) with whatever is upon it. Allah azwj Made them asws to be the cornerstones of the earth lest it shakes (uncontrollably) with its inhabitants. 17 VERSES 16 & 17 و ع ال م ات و ب الن ج م ه م ي ه ت د ون }16{ And directional signs, and by the star they are being guided [16:16] أ ف م ن ي ل ق ك م ن ال ي ل ق أ ف ال ت ذ ك ر ون }17{ Is He then Who Creates, like the one who does not create? Are you not then minding? [16:17] The esoteric meaning احل س ني ب ن حم م د األ ش ع ر ي ع ن م ع ل ى ب ن حم م د ع ن أ يب د او د ال م س رت ق ق ال ح د ث ن ا د او د اجل ص اص ق ال مس ع ت أ ب ا ع ب د الل ه ( عليه السالم ) ي ق ول و ع المات و ب الن ج م ه م ي ه ت د ون ق ال الن ج م ر س ول الل ه ( صلى اهلل عليه وآله ) و ال ع ال م ات ه م األ ئ م ة ( عليهم السالم ) Al Husayn Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Abu Dawood Al Mustariq who said, Al Dawood Al Jassas narrated to us saying, I heard Abu Abdullah asws saying (with regards to): And directional signs, and by the star they are being guided [16:16]. Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Washha who said, I asked Al-Reza asws about the Words of Allah azwj the Exalted: And directional signs, and by the star they are being guided [16:16]. He asws said: We asws are the signs, and the star is Rasool-Allah saww. 20 العياشي: عن املفضل بن صاحل عن بعض أصحابه عن أحدمها )عليهما السالم( يف قوله: و ع المات و ب الن ج م ه م ي ه ت د و ن قال:»هو أمري املؤمنني )عليه السالم(«. Al Ayyashi, from Al Mufazzal Bin Salih, from one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from one of the two asws (5 th or 6 th Imam asws ) regarding His azwj Words: And directional signs; and by the star they are being guided [16:16]. He asws said: It is Amir-Al-Momineen asws. 21 الطربسي قال: قال أبو عبد اهلل )عليه السالم(:» نن العالمات و النجم رسول اهلل )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( و لقد قال: إن اهلل جعل النجوم أمانا ألهل السماء و جعل أهل بييت أمانا ألهل األرض«. From Ja far asws Bin Muhammad asws, from his asws father asws, from his asws forefathers asws, from Ali asws Bin Abu Talib asws having said: Rasool-Allah saww said: and by the star they are being guided [16:16]. He asws said: It is Capricorn, because a star does not decline, and upon it the direction is built, and by it are guided the inhabitants of the land and the sea. 23 VERSE 18 و إ ن ت ع د وا ن ع م ة الل ه ال حت ص وه ا إ ن الل ه ل غ ف ور ر ح يم }18{ And if you were to count the Favours of Allah, you would not be (able to) count these. Surely, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [16:18] ع ل ي ب ن حم م د ع ن ب ع ض أ ص ح اب ه ر ف ع ه ق ا ل ك ا ن ع ل ي ب ن احل س ني )عليه السالم( إ ذ ا ق ر أ ه ذ ه اآل ي ة و إ ن ت ع د وا ن ع م ة الل ه ال حت ص وها ي ق و ل س ب ح ا ن م ن مل ي ع ل يف أ ح د م ن م ع ر ف ة ن ع م ه إ ال ال م ع ر ف ة ب الت ق ص ري ع ن م ع ر ف ت ه ا ك م ا مل ي ع ل يف أ ح د م ن م ع ر ف ة أ ك ث ر م ن ال ع ل م أ ن ه ال ي د ر ك ه إ د ر اك ه Ali Bin Muhammad, from one of his companions, with an unbroken chain, said: Whenever Ali asws Bin Al-Husayn asws used to recite this Verse: And if you were to count the Favours of Allah, you would not be (able to) count these. Surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [16:18], he asws would say: Glory be to the One Who azwj never Made it to be in anyone the recognition of His azwj Favours except for the recognition falling short (Al-Taqseer) of recognising, just as He azwj has never Made it to be in anyone the recognition of being aware of Him azwj any more than the knowledge that He azwj cannot be perceived. ع ل م ع ل م ع ب اد ت ه و ف ج ع ل م ع ر ف ت ه م ب الت ق ص ري ش ك را م ع ر ف ة ش ك ر ه ف ال ي ت ج او ز ذ ل ك ف إ ن ش ي ئا م ن خ ل ق ه ال ي ب ل غ ذ ل ك ع ل و ا ك ب ريا. ع ن ب الت ق ص ري ق د و س ع ال ع ب ا د ت ع ا ىل الل ه ع ن ك م ا م د ى ني أ ن ه م ال ال ع ال م ك ي ف ي ب ل غ م د ى ف ش ك ر ج ل و ع ز م ع ر ف ة ال ع ار ف ني ي د ر ك ون ه ف ج ع ل ه إ مي انا ع ل ما م ن ه أ ن ه ع ب اد ت ه م ن ال م د ى ل ه و ال ك ي ف So gratitude be to the Majestic and Mighty for the recognition of the recognisers by their reduced recognition as appreciation, so He azwj Made their reduced recognition as an expression of gratitude, just as He azwj Knows that the knowledge of the knowledgeable people would not be able to perceive Him azwj, so He azwj made Eman as knowledge from it, so they cannot exceed that. So no one from His azwj creatures can reach the limit of worshipping Him azwj, and how can one reach the limit of worship of the One Who azwj has no Limits for Him azwj? Impossible! But, I asws am not saying that would suffice him from the Hajj of Al-Islam except for the financially restricted one. ف أ م ا ال م وس ر إ ذ ا ك ان ق د ح ج ح ج ة ا س ال م ف أ ر اد أ ن ي ت ن ف ل ب احل ج و ال ع م ر ة ف م ن ع ه م ن ذ ل ك ش غ ل د ن ي اه أ و ع ائ ق ف أ ت ى احل س ني ب ن ع ل ي ع ل ي ه م ا الس ال م يف ي و م ع ر ف ة أ ج ز أ ه ذ ل ك ع ن أ د اء ح ج ت ه و ع م ر ت ه و ض اع ف الل ه ل ه ب ذ ل ك أ ض ع افا م ض اع ف ة But, as for the affluent one, when he had already performed Hajj of Al-Islam, and he wanted to do more than is necessary (do it again) the Hajj and the Umrah, but he is prevented from that due to an occupation of his world or a deterrent, and he comes to Al-Husayn asws Bin Ali asws during the day of Arafaat, that would suffice him from performing his Hajj and his Umrah, and Allah azwj would Increase it for him due to that with an exponential increment. ق ل ت : ك م ت ع د ل ح ج ة و ك م ت ع د ل ع م ر ة ق ال : ال حي ص ى ذ ل ك ق ل ت : م أ ة ق ال : و م ن حي ص ي ذ ل ك ق ل ت : أ ل ف ق ال : و أ ك ث ر مث ق ال :»و إ ن ت ع د وا ن ع م ة الل ه ال حت ص وها«. I said, And how much would Hajj equate to and how much would Umrah equate to? He asws said: That cannot be numbered. I said, One hundred? He asws said: And who can number that? I said, A thousand? He asws said: And more. Then he asws said: And if you were to count the Favours of Allah, you would not be (able to) count these. Surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [16:18]. 25 الشيخ يف )اماليه( قال: أخربنا مجاعة عن أيب املفضل قال: حدثنا ابو امحد عبيد اهلل بن احلسني بن ابراهيم العلوي النصييب )رمحه اهلل( ببغداد قال: مسعت جدي ابراهيم بن علي حيدث عن أبيه علي بن عبيد اهلل قال: حدثين شيخان بران من أهلنا سيدان عن موسى بن جعفر عن أبيه جعفر بن حممد عن أبيه حممد بن علي عن أبيه )عليهم السالم( و حدثنيه احلسني بن زيد بن علي ذو الدمعة قال: حدثين عمي عمر بن علي قال: حدثين اخي حممد بن علي عن أبيه عن جده احلسني )صلي اهلل عليهم(. From Musa asws Bin Ja far asws, from his asws father asws Ja far asws Bin Muhammad asws, from his asws father asws Muhammad asws Bin Ali asws, from his asws father asws, from Al- Husayn asws Bin Zayd Bin Ali, one with the tears, from his uncle Umar Bin Ali, from his brother Muhammad Bin Ali asws, from his asws father asws, from his asws grandfather Al- Husayn asws. قال ابو جعفر )عليه السالم(:»و حدثين عبد اهلل بن العباس و جابر بن عبد اهلل األنصاري و كان بدريا أحديا شجريا و ممن حمض من اصحاب رسول اهلل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله( يف مودة امري املؤمنني )عليه السالم( Abu Ja far asws said: And it was narrated to me asws by Abdullah Bin Al Abbas and Jabir Bin Abdullah Al Ansary, and they were (participants at) Badr, Ohad, the tree (at Al Hudaybiyya), and from the companions of Rasool-Allah saww being pure (sincere) in their cordiality towards Amir Al-Momineen asws. قالوا: بينا رسول اهلل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله( يف مسجده يف رهط من الصحابة فيهم: ابو بكر و ابو عبيدة و عمر و عثمان و عبد الرمحن و رجالن من قراء الصحابة مها: من املهاجرين عبد اهلل بن ام عبد و من األنصار أيب بنكعب و كانا بدريني فقرا عبد اهلل من السورة اليت يذكر فيها لقمان حيت أيت علي هذه اآلية: و أ س ب غ ع ل ي ك م ن ع م ه ظاه ر ة و باط ن ة اآلية They said, While Rasool-Allah saww was in his saww Masjid among a group of the companions, among them being Abu Bakr, and Abu Ubeyda, and Umar, and Abdul Rahman, and two from the readers (among) the companions, they both being from the Emigrants Abdullah Bin Um Abd, and from the Helpers Ubayy Bin Ka ab, and they were (participants at) Badr, so Abdullah read from the Chapter in which Luqman as is mentioned until he came to: and Bestowed upon you His Bounties, apparent and hidden? [31:20]. و قرا أيب من السورة اليت يذكر فيها ابراهيم )عليه السالم(: و ذ ك ر ه م ب أ ي ام الل ه إ ن يف ذل ك آل يات ل ك ل ص ب ار ش ك ور قالوا: قال رسول اهلل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله(: ايام اهلل نعماؤه و بالؤه و هي مثالته سبحانه. And my father recited from the Chapter in which is mentioned Ibrahim as : and remind them of the Days of Allah. Surely in that are Signs for every patient, grateful one [14:5]. They said, Rasool-Allah saww said: The Days of Allah azwj are His azwj Bounties, and His azwj Afflictions, and these are Ideals of the Glorious One azwj. مث اقبل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله( علي من شهده من الصحابة فقال: اين ألختولكم باملوعظة ختوال مالفة السآمة عليكم و قد اوحي ا ل ريب جل جالله ان أذكركم بالنعمة و أنذركم مبا اقتص عليكم من كتابه و تال: و أ س ب غ ع ل ي ك م ن ع م ه اآلية. Then he saww turned towards me from the ones present from the companions, so he saww said: I saww am pledging you all with the advice just like an anti-venom upon you, and my saww Lord azwj, Majestic is His azwj Majesty has Revealed unto me saww that I saww should remind you all of the Bounties and warn you with what would be a Reprisal upon you, from His azwj Book, and he saww recited: and Bestowed upon you His Bounties [31:20] the Verse. 17 out of 60

مث قال هلم: قولوا اآلن قولكم ما أول نعمة رغبكم اهلل فيها و بالكم با فخاض القوم مجيعا فذكروا نعم اهلل اليت أنعم عليهم و احسن إليهم با من املعاش و الرياش و الذرية و األزواج ا ل سائر ما بالهم اهلل عز و جل به من أنعمه الظاهرة. Then he saww said to them: Speak your words now. What is the first Bounty did Allah azwj Make you aspire regarding it and Tried you with it? So the people in their entirety, plunged into mentioning the Bounties of Allah azwj which He azwj had Bestowed upon them and had Favoured to them with it, from the subsistence, and the life-style, and the offspring, and the wives, up to the rest of whatever Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic had Tried them with, from His azwj apparent of His azwj Bounties. فلما امسك القوم اقبل رسول اهلل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله( على علي )عليه السالم( فقال: يا أبا احلسن قل فقد قال أصحابك. فقال: وكيف ل بالقول- فداك أيب و امي- و امنا هدانا اهلل بك So when the people calmed down, Rasool-Allah saww faced towards Ali asws and he saww said: O Abu Al Hassan asws! Speak, for your asws companions have already spoken. He asws said: And how can it be for me asws with the speaking may my asws father asws and my asws mother asws be sacrificed for you asws and rather Allah azwj has Guided us with through you saww? قال: و مع ذلك فهات. قل ما أول نعمة بالك اهلل عز و جل و أنعم عليك با قال: ان خلقين جل ثناؤه و مل أك شيئا مذكورا. قال: صدقت فما الثانية He saww said: And along with that, so give! Say what was the first Bounty Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Tried you asws with and Favoured upon you asws with it? He asws said: He azwj Created me asws, Majestic is His azwj Extollation, and I asws was not a mentioned thing. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the second? قال: اهلل احسن يب إذ خلقين فجعلين حيا ال مواتا. قال: صدقت فما الثالثة He asws said: Allah azwj Favoured me asws when He azwj Created me asws, so He azwj Made me asws as being alive, not dead. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the third? قال: ان انشأين- فله احلمد- يف احسن صورة و اعدل تركيب. قال: صدقت فما الرابعة He asws said: He azwj Caused me asws to grow for Him azwj is the Praise in a beautiful image and fairest configuration. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the fourth? قال: ان جعلين متفكرا واعيا ال ابله ساهيا. قال: صدقت فما اخلامسة He asws said: He saww Made me asws thoughtful, retaining, not being foolish. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the fifth? قال: ان جعل ل مشاعر أدرك ما ابتغيت با و جعل ل سراجا منريا. قال: صدقت فما السادسة 18 out of 60

He asws said: He azwj Made me asws aware, realising, what I asws can pursue (matters) with, and He azwj Made for me asws an illuminating lamp. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the sixth? قال: ان هداين لدينه و مل يضلين عن سبيله. قال: صدقت فما السابعة He asws said: He azwj Guided me asws to His azwj Religion and did not Let me asws stray from His azwj Way. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. قال: ان جعل ل مردا يف حياة ال انقطاع هلا. قال: صدقت فما الثامنة He asws said: He azwj Made for me asws a return in a life there would be no termination for it. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the eighth? قال: ان جعلين ملكا مالكا ال مملوكا. قال: صدقت فما التاسعة He asws said: He azwj Made me asws an owner of an ownership, not being owned (as a slave). He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the ninth? قال: ان سخر ل مساءه و ارضه و ما فيهما و ما بينهما من خلقه قال صدقت فما العاشرة He asws said: He azwj Made subservient to me asws, His azwj sky, and His azwj earth and whatever in in these two, and whatever is in between them both, from His azwj creatures. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is the tenth? قال: ان جعلنا سبحانه ذكرانا قواما علي حالئلنا ال إناثا قال: صدقت فما بعد هذا He asws said: He azwj the Glorious Made us males, being custodians upon our Permissible (womenfolk), not as women. He saww said: You asws speak the truth. So what is after this? قال:كثرت نعم اهلل- يا نيب اهلل- فطابت و تال و إ ن ت ع د وا ن ع م ت الل ه ال حت ص وها. He asws said: Abundant are the Bounties of Allah azwj O Prophet saww of Allah azwj so they are suitable. And he asws recited: And He Gives you from all that you ask Him, and if you were to count the Favours of Allah, you would not (be able to) number these [14:34]. فتبسم رسول اهلل )صلي اهلل عليه و آله( و قال: لتهنئك احلكمة ليهنئك العلم- يا أبا احلسن- و أنت وارث علمي و املبني الميت ما اختلفت فيه من بعدي So Rasool-Allah saww smiled, and said: Congratulations to you asws for the Wisdom! Congratulations to you asws for the Knowledge, O Abu Al-Hassan asws! And you asws are the inheritor of my saww knowledge, and the explainer to my saww community what they would be differing in, from after me saww. 19 out of 60

من أحبك لدينك و أخذ بسبيلك فهو ممن هدي ا ل صراط مستقيم و من رغب عن هداك و أبغضك و ختالك لقي اهلل يوم القيامة ال خالق له«. One who loves you asws for your asws Religion, and takes with your asws way, so he is from the ones Guided to the Straight Path. And one who turns away from your asws guidance, and hates you asws and abandons you asws, would meet Allah azwj on the Day of Judgment, there being no share for him. 26 VERSE 19 و الل ه ي ع ل م م ا ت س ر ون و م ا ت ع ل ن ون }19{ And Allah Knows what you are keeping as secret and what you are making public [16:19] اب ن حم ب وب ع ن مج يل ب ن ص ال ح ع ن س د ير ع ن أ يب ج ع ف ر )عليه السالم( ق ال أ خ ب ر ين ج اب ر ب ن ع ب د الل ه أ ن ال مش ر ك ني ك ان وا إ ذ ا م ر وا ب ر س ول الل ه ح و ل ال ب ي ت ط أ ط أ أ ح د ه م ظ ه ر ه و ر أ س ه ه ك ذ ا و غ ط ى ر أ س ه ب ث و ب ه ال ي ر اه ر س ول الل ه )صلى اهلل عليه وآله( ف أ ن ز ل الل ه ع ز و ج ل ي ع ل م ما ي س ر ون و ما ي ع ل ن ون. Ibn Mahboub, from Jameel Bin Salih, from Sudeyr, who has narrated the following: Abu Ja far asws said: Jabir Bin Abdullah ra has narrated to me asws that when the Polytheists used to pass by Rasool Allah saww, they would incline their heads and cover their heads with their clothes so that the Rasool-Allah saww would not see (recognise) them. So Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic Revealed: He Knows what they are keeping as secret and what they are making public [11:5]. 27 يف ت ف س ري ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم و يف ر و اي ة أ يب اجل ار ود ع ن أ يب ج ع ف ر ع ل ي ه الس ال م ق و ل ه ع ز و ج ل : ي ك ت م ون م ا يف ص د ور ه م م ن ب غ ض ع ل ي ع ل ي ه الس ال م و ق ال ر س ول الل ه ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه : إ ن آي ة ال م ن اف ق ب غ ض ع ل ي ع ل ي ه الس ال م و ك ان ق و م ي ظ ه ر ون ال م و د ة In Tafseer of Ali Bin Ibrahim (Qummi) And in a report of Abu Al Jaroud, ل ع ل ي ع ن د الن يب و ي س ر ون ب غ ض ه From Abu Ja far asws (having said): They were concealing what is in their chests from the hatred of Ali asws, and Rasool-Allah saww said: Surely a sign of the hypocrite is hatred of Ali asws, and they were a group manifesting the cordiality to Ali asws in the presence of the Prophet saww and they were keeping hatred for him asws a secret. 28 26 األمالي 105 :2 27 Al Kafi H 14563 28 Al Kafi H 14563 (Extract) 20 out of 60

VERSES 20-24 و ال ذ ين ي د ع ون م ن د ون الل ه ال ي ل ق ون ش ي ئ ا و ه م ي ل ق ون }20{ And those whom they are calling upon from besides Allah did not create anything, and they are Created [16:20] أ م و ات غ ي ر أ ح ي اء و م ا ي ش ع ر ون أ ي ان ي ب ع ث ون }21{ (They are) dead, not living, and they are not aware when they would be Resurrected [16:21] إ هل ك م إ ل ه و اح د ف ال ذ ين ال ي ؤ م ن ون ب اآل خ ر ة ق ل وب ه م م ن ك ر ة و ه م م س ت ك رب ون }22{ Your God is one God, so (as for) those who are not believing in the Hereafter, their hearts are in denial and they are being arrogant [16:22] ال ج ر م أ ن الل ه ي ع ل م م ا ي س ر ون و م ا ي ع ل ن ون إ ن ه ال حي ب ال م س ت ك رب ين }23{ There is no doubt that Allah Knows what they are keeping as a secret and what they are making public. Surely, He does not Love the arrogant [16:23] و إ ذ ا ق يل هل م م اذ ا أ ن ز ل ر ب ك م ق ال وا أ س اط ري األ و ل ني }24{ And when it is said to them: What is it that your Lord Revealed? They say, Stories of the former ones [16:24] العياشي: عن جابر عن أيب جعفر )عليه السالم( قال: سألته عن هذه اآلية و ال ذ ين ي د ع ون م ن د ون الل ه ال ي ل ق ون ي ل ق ون أ م وات غ ي ر أ ح ياء و ما ي ش ع ر ون أ ي ان ي ب ع ث ون. ش ي ئا و ه م Al Ayyashi, from Jabir, From Abu Ja far asws, he (the narrator) said, I asked him asws about this Verse: And those whom they are calling upon from besides Allah did not create anything, and they are Created [16:20] (They are) dead, not living, and they are not aware when they would be Resurrected [16:21]. قال:»الذين يدعون من دون اهلل: األول و الثاين و الثالث كذبوا رسول اهلل )صلى اهلل عليه و آله( بقوله: والوا عليا و اتبعوه. فعادوا عليا )عليه السالم( و مل يوالوه و دعوا الناس إىل والية أنفسهم فذلك قول اهلل: و ال ذ ين ي د ع ون م ن د ون الل ه«. He asws said: The ones who are calling upon besides Allah azwj are the first one, the second one and the third one. They belied Rasool-Allah saww of his saww words: And 21 out of 60

support Ali asws and follow him asws. But, they neglected Ali asws and did not support him asws, and called the people to their own wilayah. So these are the Words of Allah azwj : And those whom they are calling upon from besides Allah [16:20]. قال:»و أما قوله: ال ي ل ق ون ش ي ئا فإنه يعين ال يعبدون شيئا و ه م ي ل ق ون فإنه يعين و هم يعبدون He asws said: And as for His azwj Words: did not create anything [16:20], it means they are not worshipping anything, and they are Created, it means they are worshipping. و أما قوله: أ م وات غ ي ر أ ح ياء يعين كفارا غري مؤمنني و أما قوله: و ما ي ش ع ر ون أ ي ان ي ب ع ث ون فإنه يعين أهنم ال يؤمنون أهنم يشركون إ هل ك م إ له واح د فإنه كما قال اهلل. And as for His azwj Words: (They are) dead, not living [16:21], it means Kafirs, not Momineen, and they are not aware when they would be Resurrected [16:21] - it means they are not believing, they are associating, Your God is one God [16:22]. So it is as Allah azwj Says. و أما قوله: ف ال ذ ين ال ي ؤ م ن ون فإنه يعين عن والية علي )عليه السالم( مستكربون قال اهلل ملن فعل ذلك وعيدا منه: ال ج ر م أ ن الل ه ي ع ل م ما ي س ر ون و ما ي ع ل ن ون إ ن ه ال حي ب ال م س ت ك رب ين عن والية علي )عليه السالم(«. And as for His azwj Words: so (as for) those who are not believing [16:22], and they are being arrogant about the Wilayah of Ali asws. Allah azwj Says to the one who does that: There is no doubt that Allah Knows what they are keeping as a secret and what they are making public. Surely He does not Love the arrogant [16:23], about the Wilayah of Ali asws. 29 عن مسعدة بن صدقة قال: مر احلسني بن علي )عليه السالم( مبساكني قد بسطوا كساء هلم فألقوا عليه كسرا فقالوا: هلم يا From Mas ada Bin Sadaqa who said, بن رسول اهلل فثىن وركه فأكل معهم مث تال إ ن ه ال حي ب ال م س ت ك رب ين Al-Husayn asws Bin Ali asws passed by (some) needy (people) who had spread their mat for themselves. So, they cast part of it to him asws and said, Come, O son asws of Rasool-Allah saww! So, he asws sat down and ate with them. Then he asws recited: [16:23] surely He does not love the arrogant. مث قال:»قد أجبتكم فأجيبوين«قالوا: نعم- يا ابن رسول اهلل فقاموا معه حىت أتوا منزله فقال للرباب:»أخرجي ما كنت تدخرين«. Then he asws said: I responded to you all, so you should respond to me asws (as well). They said, Yes, O son asws of Rasool-Allah saww! He asws said to Al-Rabab asws : Bring out what (food) you asws had set aside for me asws. 30 The Altered Verse علي بن إبراهيم قال: حدثين جعفر بن أمحد قال: حدثنا عبد الكرمي بن عبد الرحيم عن حممد بن علي عن حممد بن الفضيل عن أيب محزة الثما ل قال: مسعت أبا جعفر )عليه السالم( يقول يف قوله: ف ال ذ ين ال ي ؤ م ن ون ب اآل خ ر ة :»يعين أهنم ال يؤمنون بالرجعة أهنا حق ق ل وب ه م م ن ك ر ة يعين أهنا كافرة و ه م م س ت ك رب ون يعين أهنم عن والية علي )عليه السالم( مستكربون Ali Bin Ibrahim said, Ja far Bin Ahmad narrated to me, from Abdul Kareem Bin Abdul Raheem, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Muhammad Bin Al Fazeyl, from Abu Hamza Al Sumaly who said, I heard Abu Ja far asws saying regarding His azwj Words: so (as for) those who are not believing in the Hereafter [16:22]: It Means they are not believing in the Return.(الرجعة) It is a reality, their hearts are in denial - meaning they are disbelievers in it, and they are being arrogant, meaning they are being arrogant from the Wilayah of Ali asws. ال ج ر م أ ن الل ه ي ع ل م ما ي س ر ون و ما ي ع ل ن ون إ ن ه ال حي ب ال م س ت ك رب ين عن والية علي )عليه السالم(«. There is no doubt that Allah Knows what they are keeping as a secret and what they are making public. Surely He does not Love the arrogant [16:23] about the Wilayah of Ali asws. و قال:»نزلت هذه اآلية هكذا: و إ ذا ق يل هل م ما ذا أ ن ز ل ر ب ك م يف علي قال وا أ ساط ري األ و ل ني «. And he asws said: This Verse was Revealed like this: And when it is said to them: What is it that your Lord Revealed regarding Ali? They say, Stories of the former ones [16:24]. 31 عن أيب محزة عن أيب جعفر )عليه السالم( قال:»نزل جربئيل هذه اآلية هكذا: و إ ذا ق يل هل م ما ذا أ ن ز ل ر ب ك م يف علي قال وا أ ساط ري األ و ل ني يعنون بين إسرائيل«. From Abu Hamza, From Abu Ja far asws having said: This Verse was Revealed like this: And when it is said to them: What is it that your Lord Revealed regarding Ali?
