Sin: Disobeying God is sin l God s angel Lucifer (Satan) decided not to follow God s rules. l Sin is choosing to disobey God. l Because God is fair, he has to punish all sin. l God threw Satan and his bad angels out of Heaven. l God made a home called the Lake of Fire to punish Satan and his bad angels. Trust: God wants us to trust him. l Grandpa was strong and wanted to save John. l John chose to trust Grandpa because he knew Grandpa cared for him and was able to save him from the river. l Because God cared for Adam and Eve, he had a plan to save them from the Second Death. l God wanted Adam and Eve to trust him to save them. l Who would Adam and Eve choose to trust this time? Lamb: A lamb was punished in the man s place. l God cannot leave sin unpunished. It would not be fair. l God told people to find a lamb. l It had to be (1) male and (2) perfect. l The man bringing the lamb put his hand on the lamb s head. l God would look at it as if all the man s sin was being placed on the lamb. l The lamb was punished instead of the man. l The lamb had to die. l The man brought the lamb because he trusted God to keep his promise. Rules: We all disobey God. l Some people thought God s plan could not be right. l They made up their own rules, like doing more good than bad. l God said that if they broke one of God s rules, they weren t good enough for Heaven. l Only perfect people can live with a perfect God. l People break God s rules people are sinners. l People need a Savior they need a lamb. Savior: Jesus is the perfect Savior. l Finally, the promised Savior came to earth. l The Savior was God himself. He became a man. l Jesus did amazing things so that people would know he was God. l Peter could not save himself from drowning. l Peter chose to trust Jesus to save him. He never sinned. l Jesus had no sin to be punished. l Jesus did not need to die. l God s promise of a Savior was all about the lamb. l Jesus was (1) called the Lamb of God. (2) a male. (3) perfect. l Jesus was brought to a special place of death: a cross. l Just like the man bringing the lamb put his hand on its head and his sin was placed on the lamb, when Jesus was nailed to the cross, our sin was taken off of us and placed on him. l Because all our sin was placed on Jesus, he had to be punished. he had to die. l Jesus is our Lamb. Alive: Jesus came back to life. If we trust Him we can live forever with him. l Our sin put Jesus to death. l After Jesus died, he was placed in a tomb. l Nothing could stop God s plan: (1) not death, (2) not soldiers, and (3) not a big stone. l After three days, Jesus came back to life! l No one had ever died and brought himself back to life. l Jesus was stronger than death. l People didn t need to be afraid of dying and going to live in Satan s terrible home. l Jesus could bring people back to life in Heaven, God s perfect home. l All you need to do is believe that Jesus is your Lamb that he was punished for your sin. If you trust him, believing that what he said was true, when you finish living here on earth, Jesus will make you perfect so that you can live with him in Heaven. l It is just that simple. l Jesus met with his friends for 40 days. He ate, talked and traveled with them. l Then Jesus returned to Heaven and he lives there now. l The Bible is a letter from God and it s all about the Lamb. Copyright 2005 by GoodSeed International.
