P r a y e r F o c u s Church Family: v Pray for the following who have health concerns and/or are especially in need of prayer: Kristian Oyen, Allison Preston and Rick Townsend-Anderson. Missions: v Pray for our Camp Shamineau workers: Jacob Beecken, Justin Coleman, Miah McNiff, Ethan Stone, Sierra Stone, and Abbi Tanner. Hannah has returned from her three weeks on the SWAT team. Pray for good health for all. v The Vacation Bible Camp team to Nigeria (July 31-August 4) team members are: Mary Aderinkomi, Jeff & Debbie Vogel, Melanie Schwartz, Gloria Odegaard, Edeth James and family. Pray for preparation of the teachers in Nigeria and for the hearts of campers to be open to God s work in their lives. v Marilyn R. is attending a conference for Europe area leaders. Pray for good connections, times of refreshment and God s encouragement. Pray for the eight teams trained by Marilyn as they serve in Outreach English camps in four different countries. Marilyn and Carolyn D. ask us to pray for their dad, who has some health issues. v David D. is in Asia visiting three different countries, with teaching and graduation opportunities. v Chris A. will be having hip surgery July 25. Pray for skillful doctors and no complications. Mark is meeting with doctors about his voice issues. Pray for God s plan and peace for them during this time at home. v Marion L. in Germany asks us to pray for good relationships with local people. Marion is a prayer partner/mentor to some students. Pray for God to work in lives through the prayers and weekly outreach of the students. v Pray for summer outreach ministries in several locations: Character Camp ministries in Montreal with Steve and Jane W.; Weekly ministry in New Orleans with John and Wendy G. of Urban Impact Ministries; and here in NE Minneapolis - Living Hope Ministries Kingdom Kids Vacation Bible School in the evenings (volunteers can contact Steve and Kelli M. at info@livinghopempls.org or 612-789-2244.) Please pray for open hearts of campers to respond to God s love and salvation. v Volunteer Opportunities: Students from China are arriving to study at the U of MN. Many need a place to stay for a few days, others just need an airport pickup. By offering a practical demonstration of Christian love and by building relationships, you can be part of a journey that can end in faith and radically changed lives. Mission Focus: Bethany Baptist Church, our Sister Church in Riga, Latvia is holding a Vacation Bible School for elementary-age children on July 24-28. Pray for good outreach to about 40 children who will attend. Pray for some children who attended a Christmas outreach to participate and hear the Gospel. Pray for language challenges. These kids know Russian and Latvian, probably not English. Matt Carnahan will be in charge of game time with a teen helper. Liz Christie will be focused on craft time. Our brothers and sisters there will be doing music and teaching on Knowing Christ as the Good Shepherd, Light of the World, Bread of Life, Resurrection and Life, and The Way.
