PARISH EVENTS CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS Last Christmas with your help and generosity, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) was able to provide Christmas Food Baskets to 410 families. The Society is doing the program again this year, but we need your help. With much gratitude, we need your donations of non-perishable food items and cash contributions. The food can be put in the barrels at the church or taken directly to the SVDP office. Money can be donated by using the St. Vincent de Paul envelope or visit our website at: svdpvancouverusa.com and donate directly online to Christmas Food Baskets. The staff at the SVDP office are now taking phone calls from 9:05am to 1:00pm from families in need of assistance. Their phone number is 360-694- 5388. You may also provide St. Vincent de Paul with the names of families that are in need of a Christmas Food Basket. Mail their name, address, phone number, family size and the age and sex of children under 16 to St. Vincent de Paul, 2456 NE Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661. Please consult with the families prior to submitting their names, to make sure that they will accept a food basket. Please submit the names promptly. With the high volume of requests and need, we kindly ask families to register only once in Clark County. The Christmas box will be ready for pick up on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the SVDP facility, according to schedule times set by their staff and volunteers. Lastly, due to the volume of space needed during the holiday distributions, SVDP will NOT be taking clothing donations between December 10 December 17, 2017. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! COMMUNITY EVENTS GIVING TREE THIS WEEKEND Christmas boxes distributed by St. Vincent de Paul will include toys for children. Please help provide a toy for a local child by taking a tag from the giving tree set up near the front-right of the church this weekend (Dec. 2-3) and the next weekend (Dec 9-10). Instructions will be provided on each tag (which vary by age/gender). Gift cards are particularly popular with older children. Please return the tag & unwrapped gift no later than Friday, December 15. ALTAR SOCIETY DINNER & MOVIE RAFFLE Win a dinner for two at Hudson s Bar and Grill at the Heathman Lodge and two tickets for a movie at Cinetopia! Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. They will be on sale every Sunday in the Lower Hall from Nov. 5 through Dec. 17, when the drawing will take place. All funds will go toward the care of our Altars. ADVERTISER OF THE WEEK 1004 Washington St. Vancouver, WA 98660 THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US! 8
